Another fun trivia about the heist, when the robbers realized that one of the hostages, an old lady, was her birthday on that day, they celebrated her birthday and forced every hostage to sing the happy birthday song. They improvised a cake to celebrate it.
Also Vitette took acting classes before the heist to make his role as the leader of the band more credible.
They also did their research very well as they studied the procedure and the training manual of hostage negotiation used by the argentinean SWAT. They even knew who was the negotiator by name, and knew how he looked.
One last thing, the reason the police didn't get any alarms when they broke the wall to connect to the tunnel it was because they studied the police procedures for hostage situations: once there is a hostage situation the police cuts all the electricity to the bank, which it would disable the antiseismic alarms in the perimeter of the building. Once they confirmed the alarms got disconnected, they broke the walls from the inside of the bank to connect to the remaining of the tunnel.

This isn't the perfect robbery.
The perfect robbery is the one we don't know about.

It is

Love from Argentina.
Why were you sad the robbers were caught?
"The Perfect Crime" is a broad term.
This was an almost perfect crime, they secured what they came for, left as little evidence as possible, and threw off a trail with the credit cards and hair from the barbershop. The one thing they failed in was maintaining a code of silence after the heist, loose lips, sink ships.
âWich is more than you remembered to do for most of your friends last year without Facebook reminding youâ ⊠Ouch that hurtđ
This makes me want to rob a bank now đ
âWhat is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the chandelier. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier.â Dwight Schrute
