- This is it. The huge, movie-length epic to conclude this Victoria 2 series. The longest and most ambitious project ever on this channel, fully-edited and complete. The tale of one of the most enjoyable, tense, exciting and memorable World Wars we have ever seen in Victoria 2 multiplayer. The Grand Finale of the Muscovy-Russia multiplayer Divergences of Darkness series.
This is the end of the series - so at the end of this video (you can find it in the navigation timestamp) the credits for the WHOLE SERIES are here. All the people to thank for making the series possible, and a cast of all the players.
This took a great deal of time and work to finish! Hope you all enjoy. As I say in the credits in the end, I appreciate all who have watched, liked and commented on the series so far. It's been a pleasure to play this campaign, edit the series, and see the response.

Two heroes of the war: Chinese farmers eating all the food so that the Ottomans can't supply their navy and Italy for losing the war without an enemy stepping on their land.
Classic Italian moment.
Because Italians are their own worst enemy
This is actually true though LOL
You won the game by having the Chinese eat 50% of the world's food... what a well planned strategy.
To be Reddit-tier for a moment, it's similar to when Bo lost because the Chinese army consumed all the supply in Southeast Asia.

The best thing about this war is that china literally ate the ottoman chad navy
The fact that the economics decided the outcome of the war is just mind-blowing
it's funny because that's usually how irl wars are won and lost as well.
It's the standard bread-and-butter of Vic2 wars. You don't have enough industry, prestige and RGOs-> you have no supplies-> your army gets rekt-> war is lost.
And one of the main reason why irl Germany (WW1 + WW2) and Italy+Japan (WW2) lost as well. Technological superiority means nothing if you don't have enough resources to build/maintain said high-techwares.
This is why Victoria 2 is a better game than HOI4
Hearing Frank get depressed about the navies is the most demotivating thing ever.
I love how Italy peak in this game was when It played both sides of the first Polish war. Then it went down hill almost instantly after the various Scandi containment to the crisis releases, to all the rebels. RIP May he attack into the mountains In a better place

Ottomans would have to drop his prestige and get speared before the actual war though. Difficult to do much once the war was already underway. Perhaps Burgundy could have cut his canned food purchases to 0 and maybe there would be some on the world market that got through to the Ottomans, but doubtful.
Chinese mobilisation might not have had much impact on the military situation, but I would say that it won you the war here.
I think they would have had time to do it, if they knew, since they started the war. But there was no way to know until being at war for a while so yeah you're right
@@SpudgunOfficial could they have had domestic production supply their needs? Or was it not enough?

I haven't finished the video yet, but I'd like to thank you for providing an incredible series all summer Spud. There are very few series on youtube that I actively look forward to and this has been one for the past 4 months. Hope to see a season 2, but after you take a good long break of course. you've earned it man
Thank you. I may have a little break this weekend, but there will still always be a new video every Friday whether it be in a series or a standalone! :)
Amazing end to the series. Winning not through pure force of arms or strategy, but coming back from defeat through the niche mechanics of economics and logistics was an interesting twist. I think something like this happened in real life, but I can't remember where from.
Thanks for making this series every week, each episode was super engaging and I can't believe I was invested enough to actually make it to the finale.
And of course the personalities behind Scandinavia, Hungary, and to some extent Poland, Ottomans, and Italy and their own little mini-arcs made this memorable too.
Thanks you!
Basically the main reason of German Empire's demise in WW1 eventhough they keep winning on multiple fronts, having their Navy intact and never had their main territories turned into wasteland due to war.
They're literally starving and ran out of war resources due to international blockade.
The Starship Troopers edit at 23:35 had me crackin up.
Great work.
Thanks ;)
Victoria isn't an accurate simulation but has that true to life feel in multiplayer. A nation building an advanced super military that is crippled by unforeseen logistical issues is so perfect for the time period.
I love that you don't sugar coat your fuck ups. The story telling is the most important part.
What. An. Amazing. Series.

The Great War was decided, not by guns, manpower, superior tactics or cunning diplomacy, but because of fucking canned peas. I have loved this series and glad to see it end on such a great finally.
As the Ottomans I did consider dropping prestige personally, but I had too much population to be sphered, in addition the HPM DoD cb's limits the Add to Sphere war goal by population compared to vanilla. So I was never gonna get canned food either way unless I was above China in the ranking list. In hindsight I shouldve mass built Dreadnoughts/Battleships for the mil score boost
This was incredible. Each time countries switching sides because of world situation. Economy, trench war, decisive naval battles. Great combacks. Super powers which could tremble in next war. Rebels which can criple countries during war. It was like semi Game of Throne session.
This is something which you wouldnt see in games for casuals like HOI IV and Victoria III multiplayer sessions.
land losses weren't even that bad! But the naval losses are something i definetely haven't seen yet.
And props to you for this series. Number-absolutely- 1. The best Grand strategy series I've seen so far. And you kept it entertaining with a lot of clifffhangers, and the diplomacy was the best. It was kind of sad to see you fight hungary, but it iiiiis what it iiiis.

Wow man just wow. I'll begin with the obvious stuff but thanks you and congratulation, this series was so much fun to watch. I've literally never liked a youtube series like that one, i was actually waiting every friday because i knew this was the muscovy day.
I absolutly love your way of presenting things swapping from text to explain, to voice to live the thing. Don't change that it's insane. Same goes for the memes, you're doing a great job at inserting those in your vids and the fact that they're everywhere from minute 0 to 57 shows that you worked real hard and i don't even want to know how much time you spent doing this vid to entertain us.
The only regret i have is that from session to session some players couln't make it or changed country or whatever. That's the sad part imo because i would have loved to see kind of hierachical order establish betwen players becase there would be too much of them so in order to keep things gooing maybe some hierachical order would have formed. But i guess that's too hard to do ( i don't blame you ofc xd) with the very thin community of Vicky 2 :'(
Anyways keep doing videos, they're great, you're great and i'm sure that you'll inspire ppl to play that amazing game !
And as we say in my country : Bravo Monsieur !
