      I think you need to do better fact-checking. Around the 8:50 mark someone fires a rocket at a tank form 20m away. You say this is a javelin, but those have a minimum arming distance of 65 meters. Same goes for 1:50, that tank is well within 60 meters of the alleged firing position.
      Even worse is at mark 4:05, where you can see the launcher and can clearly see it's NOT a javelin.
      You really can't say anything about the javelin being obsolete when you can't even recognise one.

      In my opinion, ATGM are amazing weapons, but in the end, it all depends on the cost/benefit ratio. ATGMs won't dissappear, but they will be used less, only to attack really expensive targets, or those that cannot be hit by drones. Greetings from Colombia

    That Javelin you showed at 16 seconds was actually an NLAW - it overflew the tanks and beamed a death ray down on them.... The NLAW was better in urban fights, the Javelin had more range for open areas.

    Stugna has more recorded vehicle kills than the javelin. In fact stugna has more recorded vehicle kills than any other atgm in history. They both play a different role but there is one massive difference, stugna has a battery that lasts 5 hours and it has a thermal that can survey a wide area from complete safety 50ft away from the launch module, javelins thermal targeting locking optic lasts 50 seconds and the user has to be exposed to lock the target.....it's a no brainer. And yes it's a fact that stugna has the highest recorded vehicle kill count which Includes 2 KA-52 attack helicopters and even some air defence systems. It's also destroyed 4 tanks in 3 minutes which no ground based atgm has done before.

    I believe both ATGMs (anti-tank guided missiles) and drones have their unique advantages and roles in modern warfare. While drones offer increased flexibility and reconnaissance capabilities, ATGMs remain crucial for their precision and destructive power against armored targets. However, the evolving nature of warfare suggests that a combination of both technologies might be the most effective approach, rather than completely replacing one with the other. It's essential to continually assess and adapt military strategies to meet evolving threats and technological advancements.

    You can’t compare a crew served weapon like the STUGNA-P or Skif to the Javelin. It can be remote fired up to 50m (not remote controlled). The Javelin firer does expose themselves when firing, then moves to cover. The Javelin uses thermographic infrared guidance. The STUGNA-P is manual or laser guided but the launcher remains visible, uses a laser (an AFV may have a Laser warning sensor) The Javelin has two parts, the Command Launch Unit (that’s reusable ) and the missile. One man can carry a Javelin (CLU and missile) it takes 2 or 3 men for a STUGNA-P.

  • @IonOtter
    @IonOtter Před měsícem +2

    07:57 The audio describing ERA is correct, but that's not ERA in the video. That's the newest version of ATGM defense called the Active Protection System, or APS. ERA is passive, and waits for an RPG round or ATGM to hit the target first, then react, trying to deflect the penetration jet. APS watches for an incoming attack, and _just before it hits the target_ fires an explosive that hits the incoming round or missile, causing it to detonate before it hits. They're also working on a new type of armor called Electromagnetic Armor, which doesn't use any explosives at all. It's a multi-layered armor that uses high-voltage to disintegrate anything hitting it.

    WE know how Ukraine loves the Troy, Alabama made Javelins. The new 60+ billion dollar aid and military package has Stingers and also 10,000 Javelins. I am going to look hard to see how the so-called Russian Turtle Tank does against an American Javelin. Many are in Ukraine now and many more coming. This aid package is the largest ever and it is not our backyard, but we will stand firm. The U.K. is also doing a great job, so are the French finally, and same with the Germans who held back for months on many things needed, but it seems now that most of Europe is now adamant about helping their neighbor push Russia out of Ukraine. This year will be most interesting, as Ukraine is getting now what is needed, including the Storm Shadow missiles from U.K, and American long range ATACMS that can hit Russian territory and Crimea at will. Ukraine is now capable of making themselves, over one million drones that hit them hard. If Russia wants to loose their economic future, then just keep on fighting this stupid war you started, but everywhere you look you see they are taking open fields, (big deal), but they have lost out of 38 refineries about 35% and now begging Belarus for diesel, gas, and jet fuel to continue the war effort. They can not sell these products and make revenue for war, plus they also need diesel for their spring and late fall harvest. Not good! Ukraine without a navy has taken out 50% of Russia's Black Sea
    and Servastopol port in Crimea is hit daily now with ATACMS. The new Russian railroad in eastern Donbas will be hit soon and they are also going after the train engines and they are in demand and hard to replace with Russia in dire need of most things. The Crimea bridge went from 57 train's across in March, but now April/May, pulled back to just seven, as they fear being hit and plan on using the railroad mentioned, but that too will be hit soon by Storm Shadow or ATACMS long range missiles. Ukraine is also hitting and taking out in Russian territory their aid defense and same in Crimea, so they can this year move on Crimea taken in 2016. Ukraine now has 50+ strong powerful GDP nations and number one in GDP America sending much needed artillery to and soon as Europe and America go into full all out war production, Russia will have little weapons or troops who want to fight their neighbor. Watch Jake Broe, Artur Rehial, Willian Spaniel, Task & Purpose, Deny's, or Joe Blogs channels and all feel Russia is living on borrowed time. The new Russian breakup will make the one in 91' when the Soviet Union broke apart look like a walk in the park. So-to-speak! China is just waiting to pick Russia's bones and natural resources and for sure take back the land Russia took from China, (outer Manchuria to Japan and Russia after the Opium Wars, some 600,000 square miles. Well, China needed this vast land with ports and vast raw material wealth, so they still keep it on Chinese maps even today. Lots of doom and gloom coming to Russia as econ-one wins in every war. Russia will go totally bankrupt in about two years.
