It puzzles me that commentators describe Avdiivka as a 'city'. It's pre-war population was a little over 30k. That is a small town, not a city.
depends on the country's definition of a city. In Ireland you need a cathedral and a university to apply to be a city. I'm not sure what the qualifications to become a city in Ukraine is.

1) Ukraine gave up it's nuclear weapons because the USA asked them to in return for promises made to Ukraine's security (and when you promise something you need to keed said promise).
2) following the first point: when the US starts to clearly renage on it's own promises, the US loses it's soft power in the world, and with the loss of soft power follows the loss of economic power. It is just economically stupid to do so.
3) Russia has been and still is a serious adversary to the US. With the amount of support Ukraine has received from the US it managed to greatly reduce Russia's military (and economic) power. It is simply the best return on investment the US could ever get on any field. (And for your information, the total money spent in Ukraine's aid, so for totalled to about 3% of 1 years DOD budget. And almost all of that money is spent in the US producing militairy equipment.)

You do have a point that production has been really slow to ramp up from historically low levels - across Europe, as well as in the US.
In terms of percentage of GDP, most European countries have already supported Ukraine more - and the level of support is ramping up. Much of it is not widely reported - were you aware, for example, that about 50% of the drones used by Ukraine are British in origin? Or that the Ukrainian armed forces are now receiving more than 100k drones a month?
One key advantage that the US has over European allies is the depth of reserves / mothballed equipment in good condition. Releasing even 5% of that would transform the Ukrainian armed forces.
How would it transform Ukrainain forces as they dont have the numbers of soilders to learn the new eqquipment. Training takes months thats why Russia has Air superiority @@cacwgm
