UPDATED TICHO DATA: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
In this video we show and discuss the Ticho, a new integral suppressor from KGMade in Kennesaw, GA. The Ticho (Czech for "silent") features a monocore baffle stack machined directly into a standard 20.5" CZ 455 varmint barrel, providing for a one tax setup since the barrel remains over 16" in length. In this video we show accuracy and chronograph testing results as well as sound metering data collected on both a B&K 2209 and a Larson Davis LXT over the course of several weeks with various types of ammo. CCI Quiet-22 just gets plain silly as you'll see later in the video. Stay tuned, much more on the way.

"Wow, this BB gun packs more of a punch than I remembered!"
Lmao
Lol
Yeah BB gun
@jimmy Burnett Depends on the ammunition.
Speed of Sound is about 340m/s.
.22LR has muzzle velocities ranging from 210m/s to 564m/s
depending on Brand/Cartridge.
@jimmy Burnett Could even be Sniper Subsonics. 60 grains going at 950 fps is not bad for a rimfire.
It sounds like a hitmarker
Thats a Long name, yea it is
Masa Matheus Agostini Senna Avila sounds like a airsoft gun XD
Some_Random_O_O quick question what is the biggest gun u have ever shot
Sounds like B.B. gun
HeavenlyPrism23 25mm naval ship cannon. Get on my level.
3:27 before he stops talking and starts shooting for the impatient ones.
Thanks
Thank you so much 😂
At this point to silence the gun further, you'll have to silence the bolt cycle action and the hammer dropping.
what kind of bolt action has a hammer?
@@dothwalrus370 He probably means striker.
And just subsonic ammunition. I pretty sure I can hear a crack.
@@Tunkkis Around 3 minutes he says he's shooting subsonic
better baffle design would make it a little more quiet
I got one quieter than that!!! Because it's broken and doesn't shoot :(
Electro Those are always the quietest
The only way it can make sound is if you drop it lol.
Colt M4A1 but I thought guns can shoot on their own 😂
Ahakim24 Only the scary black assault weapons
Levi Strauss you can't say.."black" ..you must say "dark toned...THING THAT KILLS ALL OF THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!!!" 😵👹☠️ 👀
We finally made a surpresser that behaves like the one in COD
Based on the trees behind the target, I think you caught a light breeze on the first couple shots. Cheers. As always, thanks for sharing!
As a good shooter you compensate for that wind with a 22LR. 1" size targets at 50 meters, not yards is stupid easy to hit with my Tikka T1x with SK Rifle Match ammo. So i'm not very impressed with a 1" target at 45.72 meters. That's 25,4mm i like my 10 - 15mm targets.
To those interested you can follow this Google Drive link to view a spreadsheet with up to date chronograph, accuracy, and metering data on this particular rifle. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IKP9h597YQzMkiJz82cJtRdw9WmytaE7oHqhla7zCTM/edit?usp=sharing
So what were to happen if you put a suppressor on this internally suppressed rifle?
Pigeon Floof Lord you would probably break the world
Sean Bennett silencerception
Pigeon Floof Lord and a potato on the end of the barrel with silent rounds
Pigeon Floof Lord negative sound
Antimatter
13:08 *Alright guys*
Get ready for a .22 bolt action meltdown
Put another suppressor on the end of it.
lol good idea
Shlomo Shekelstein make the whole barrel a suppressor
+Hans Steyr lol
probably wouldn't affect much
Just imagine the sound... Probably louder than my fart
All CZ bolt 22's are unbelievably quiet and the actions are so smooth (even without the awesome internal baffling).
That lime between those two target's blended into the background so well. I was looking for it when Chad mentioned he was aiming for it but couldn't see it till after the shot.
I love my Cz 455 TACTICOOL. It really has helped thin some of the jack rabbit population here on the ranch. I wouldn't say it's just good for youth to learn fundimentals, it has helped me tremendously! Incredibly satisfying to take this rifle out to 200+ yards to learn hold overs and how much wind knocks those little 40gr projectiles around. Cheap effective training. Loved this months man can by the way. Keep up the great work!
Swole Sarge Awesome! We don't have jackrabbits but the squirrels can be a nightmare, lol. Thanks for the support of Man Cans, it means a lot to us and glad you enjoyed this month's can! 👊
Wait until they chew through some wires in your attic and you hear them frying on the electricity in the middle of the night.
SuperTruckerTom i sense a back story here and i am intrested in it if you would maybe tell ?
Respect that you didn't stop the cam. No egos, just love getting out there to shoot
There is another gun like this it is called De Lisle carbine
It’s a lee Enfield that was internally suppressed and used by the British special forces in WW2 and it’s so quiet the moving of the bolt and hitting the target was louder than the actual bullet
I've never seen someone so happy shooting key lime
Or so happy missing.....
Not too sure how many people will agree, but I think you guys should do a top 5 lever action guns. I'm fairly new to the channel so, forgive me if the topic has been done or seems boring.
VagueOdin I think we could accommodate that at some point 👍
Do it
VagueOdin henry number 1
How about a marlin 1895 vs Henry 45/70 video I’d be down for that.
The Clueless Geologist if you could find a marlin without a canted front dight post. New model trapper, canted sights are still a thing.
Must be an absolute pleasure to shot that! Great job coming up with that!
Great info. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year
Can somebody appreciate that this is super well framed and just looks good from a videography standpoint ? :)
The Fox Den Thanks for noticing! Lol
You bet. Greetings from Germany.
The Fox Den all their videos do. 👌🏼
Very clean build! Speaking of clean, would be very interesting to see clean up of the integral suppressor. I would also like to have some idea of project cost, as that is a very worthwhile project gun. Keep up the great videos.
Thats absolutely crazy how quiet it is. Sounds like you are dry firing. That's amazing.
But it can't hit anything...
Thanks again guys, had to watch again. Keep it up.
i love my 455. bought the synthetic/threaded version to run a 22 can on, and it is phenominal. i can only imagine how quiet this set up would be.
i also run the leupold 2x7
big visk A man after my own heart, lol. It's really hard to beat these CZs.
it really is. now i want one of these.
That rifle seems very accurate. Very nice setup. I like it. Great video
That is a sweet little build right there you are having too much fun my friend LOL
Heck yeah love my CZ 455, I run Geco .22 L.R in mine and it loves it.
Should’ve titled it, quietly missing key limes.
He is a terrible shot I use surplus ammo on a 7.62x39 ruger American ranch and I can get 1.5inch-2in groups
Cudos to Chad!
I'm surprised we haven't seen the Mare's Leg suppressed yet!
(waiting for it)
Enjoyed, thanks and have a blessed day
Idk y'all got the same advert at the beginning but good lord how powerful that was. More then respect for that Texas man
Love your videos man, I became a gun guy because of you.
The 120 could be coming from the mechanics of the gun like the firing pin and, not the muzzle blast.
Man that is AWESOME. And very good shooting yall.
Sick stuff! I wish I could get my hands on one just like that!
Suppressed .22's are so much fun!
Now I'm sad i sold my suppressed 10/22...
Try subsonic ammo it helps, or you could always get one of those new crazy air rifles!
Now that's a squirrel and rabbit gun.
Beautiful and low key.
Drop 5 squirrels before they notice
Good job Chad, you do a great job alone. Eric must be intimidating. You both are good. That was new information to me.
Thank you for not sending vids where you hit 100% of your shots. I appreciate how real y'all are.
Remington sub sonics work great in my 452 varmit.
I would love to see it shoot without the can on ,slow mo to watch the projectile travel through the cutouts ,just for the hell of it. Please please please
Film it in super slow motion as Smarter Every Day did. Better understanding of the dynamics of a suppressor after that video.
When the action is louder than the report... Just awesome
wow, sweet little setup
Sweet, finally a real .22 LR gun with an appreciation for silence!
That's sounds like a damn air gun wtf
I'm really appreciative of your thoroughness good sir. thank you
I have that same old 22.
I am now doing this for fun lol thanks
This is even more quiet than my air soft sniper
It basically sounds like a bb gun
A very interesting barrel and stripper thingy. Brilliant!
That was a very interesting fun video.
this has blown my mind and i need too know:
1.) is this a barrel or a suppressor? It's legally a barrel right?
2.) if you have a fixed "suppressor" machined/welded onto the end of a barrel so that it's permanently fixed, is it a barrel or an NFA item?
3.) why or why not is this an NFA item?
It seems like a perfectly legit way of turning a 16"+ barrel into a slightly more quiet barrel. And you could sell these barrels on various other firearms.
Strictly speaking USA laws and stuff.
1. As far as barrel length is concerned, integral suppressors are counted towards barrel length measured from the chamber to the muzzle. So this would not be an SBR.
2. Integrally suppressed firearms are NFA items.
3. Its an NFA item because what is important as far as the ATF is concerned is the ability for a device to suppress sound, not the removability of said device.
3:25 is when he actually starts shooting and you can hear the gun.
Thanks
That’s the ammo I use in my S&W M&P 15/22. I love it. Federal Gold Medal Match.
Nice Job Chad ! Ultimate training gun for new shooters or deadly quiet critter sniper.
YES key lamme
*FUN FACT*
“Ticho“ is russian and stands for “quiet“
Fun fact - it's the same even in Czech. But that's already mentioned in video and it's pronounced completely differently 😅
Welcome to slav languages, lads.
I always updoot a random fact
hi jason
Lewis Nope it means bitchfuck.
Great shot
Sike
Great guys, see what you did.I got to get one.
Nice small game rifle 👍🏽 u can take it in the field with disturbing the animals or giving up your position
Iv seen your comments on some young jezzy. Put me on sumthin If ya got that snow MAN!
'Ticho' means 'Silence' in Czech.
Great Video! That is one awesome .22LR!
Bium.... Chad is hilarious funny !
Keep up the greate work guys.
Greetings from Germany
I would love to see a smaller scale AR SBR in .22 magnum. People don't realize just how effective that round is. You could legitimately have a 90 round mag, which wouldn't be too large/long, or heavy.
With pin-point bullet placement, that weapon would be quite, light & stunningly lethal at short/medium range!
I don't think the silencer section needs to be as long as that, you will have lost some velocity there. If you started with an 18" barrel you could have made the silenced bit 4" and still had a 14" barrel and maintained a good 1050 feet per second using CCI subs.
The video shows they lost only an average of 15 fps. (5min- 25max) So I don't think that qualifies.
+srspower if you actually watched the video you would have seen that velocities were hardly affected (literally less than 2%).
they were using CCI quiets, not CCI subs. Quiets are like 700 fps
Federal Premium Gold Medal Ammunition
was what the video listed them as using.
srspower Suppressors Increase muzzle velocity.
Nice design engineering of the barrel. It looks fun for small game.
that is very impressive first shot you fired and missed I thought it had failed to go off, but no that was actually the round lmao
I thought I clicked on an airsoft video its so quiet.
Me: "No fucking way" (baffle system built in)
Chad: "So... Yeah that's pretty fricken crazy."
Love your videos!
Why haven't we seen a suppressor video with decibel comparisons to every day 'noisy' items like a Powershot staple gun, finishing nailer, bubble wrap, snapped on tupperware lids, etc. to some of your 'less noisy' every day NFA items? That would be awesome!!!
T Hixson That's a great idea, we may try to accommodate that 👍
the quietest posible is to turn off volume and turn on subtitles
Eh, idk why people need to think "long barrel=accurate gun". A shorter barrel is stiffer and has potential to be more accurate than a long one. It won't shoot as "flat" in most instances.but group size and consistency theoretically will improve .
corey, that's an interesting point that I hadn't thought of. I wonder though, if it might play out more in a center fire gun with higher recoil.
has a lot to do with internal ballistics as well though. a 22lr may not need a very long barrel for optimum accuracy especially at ranges like this, but compare that with larger calibers shooting longer range, you will definitely see benefits from longer barrels.
a .22 doesn't need a long barrel, but a long barrel doesn't make it less accurate because .22 doesn't have the energy to affect barrel harmonics. But a longer barrel in centerfires does add to muzzle velocity and muzzle velocity means accuracy at range due to bucking the wind and less drop.
It all depends on what you consider accuracy ultimately. Deviation out of the barrel vs environmental effects vs “shootability.” Might be more accurate in a vacuum for example, in some cases.
I would argue that accuracy should be defined as the point of impact based on direct interaction with the weapon system. Wind is certainly a factor when shooting but it’s not a factor of the weapon system. I would argue that the round’s ability to mitigate the effects of the environment is more in the “shootability” column. But to each their own, ultimately it is semantics for most of us.
+efred22 You should go look at some of the Q/A sessions with Faxon barrels and InRangeTV . You'll be pleasantly educated and find that the pencil barrel will perform just fine given that it is manufactured properly.
Guard : Mr Bin Laden anything seems strange to you?
Bin Laden : Nope, but I had a nasty headache this morning tho
ɪsᴀᴀᴄ ᴀʟᴇxɪᴜs ɴɢᴜʏᴇɴ pretty lame joke squirt
I've found silencing a 22 to be pretty easy. This is a nice rife but is a chunk of funds for something that can be done with a piece of emt, a cardboard tube, a piece of wood, and a rattle spay paint can cap. Could make it fancier for looks and durability.
The bullet flying thought the air is so much louder than the shot lol.
Has there ever been an instance of the round getting caught in the suppressor thingy's?
Ethan DyTioco was thinking the same thing.
Ethan DyTioco That could only happen if the round somehow destabilized and started tumbling in the baffles. Even with a 1:16" twist rate the 60gr SSS rounds make it out of the suppressor before they start tumbling, so really nothing to be concerned with.
I've been at a range with someone firing a rifle with a misaligned muzzle brake before. It was shooting sparks everywhere with the bullet smashing into the baffles. An RSO told him to pack it up pretty damn quick. I imagine the same could happen with a poorly aligned suppressor. Like Chad said it's probably nothing to worry about though; it would probably be quite obvious if the alignment were so bad that the bullet would tumble rather than just deflect slightly.
The "thingies" are called baffles and what you're talking about is a baffle strike and yes it happens. When it does, especially with larger calibers, it will really make a mess of the suppressor. If you have a good barrel and a good suppressor it shouldn't ever be an issue.
I was going to call them small intestine folds at first, but that would be outright silly
You should totally get smartereveryday to come and film the bullet passing through the baffles without the suppressor cover, that would be cool to see a bullet passing through the barrel
Took me a while to see the limes LOL. Love the noise suppression though!
This is awesome
At this rate you might as well just buy a .177 air rifle
Air rifles are worthless they want you to break the barrel after each shot on most
Homeopathic Fossil-Fuels An FX Crown in .30 probably quieter, more accurate and about the same cost after all the work put into it.
NACAM42 Exactly, or a Benjamin Marauder, which features a detachable magazine to boot.
Modern pneumatic rifles can pack quite a wallop. Think buffalo gun...
22lr (even subsonic) is much more powerful than a .177 air rifle.
To be fair he could have edited those misses out
I love that little gun.
That barrel is really cool
"you can hear how quiet this thing is"
WHAT WAS THAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, I LOST MY LEFT EAR IN A MEGAPHONE ACCIDENT
Don't they sell 22 caliber pellet rifles, that are more accurate for less?
yes in fact i have one but its not as damaging and is only about as accurate to 50 yards any more and ur boned
Formoren More accurate?..........yes......much! Less money?.............No.
PCP air rifles are accurate but very expensive, pellets are cheap!
Formoren I own .22 air rifle, not sure about accuracy but mine shoots fast and hits hard
There is .22 caliber pellet guns that shoot at 1700fps thats more powerful than a .22 rimfire
I need this, I live in NY and this looks like a bull barrel and obviously we can't have suppressors or anything NFA(not even SBRs!😣) When Eric shot the CCI quiets, the trigger pull was louder than the shot!😱 Awesome gun, I love my CZ 455 17 with a Leupold 4.5-12*32, it drives tacks especially with the Hornady Mach2s but this is for sure a whole new animal! Another great video guy's!
I haven't watched the channel since 2014 or 15 but I was scrolling through the recommendation s today and saw this video and figured I'd watch and you've lost alot of weight I have to say you look Great
Perfect youth rifle...
Except it's an NFA item
Dam key lime keeps jumping out of the way
Go gettum dead eye
bro........ OKAY this is bad ass.... Also you look really good man.. I have been watching and learning from you since 2012. You look great man... Thx for all the info and learning.
happiest ive seen him
Worst .22 ammo: Remington Golden Bullet
OsamaIs MyMama yeah they dont cycle good in my 10/22
They will rarely cycle the bolt in my savage 64. Sometimes they won’t even feed
Filthy ammo. Worst 22 ammo I ever shot.
gregoryjamesaustin
It’s not bad at all!
@@tacomas9602 Too much residue. OK in a revolver, bolt or pump. But semi auto gum up quickly. Much faster than federal or winchester.
*CIA wants to know your location*
Cant you just shoot subsonic rounds through a heavy long target barrel and have he same effect? Im in love with the set up but just my 2
Fun project....i have done the same idea. Due to other factors there is marginal gain over good over the counter shorter cans and compared to the very best no perceivable benefit.
am i the only one that cringe when i hear their laughs :P
Definitely not the only one lol
Nope. This guy is annoying
Chad is gay and annoying.
Hi. I'm one of those "anti gun" people, pro-gun control, living in a non-gun country, don't really see the point all that stuff. Did i set the scene? Ok then, this is a gun i could see myself having fun with. This is very special tool and I can appreciate the work that went into it. Yeah i think that it is THAT good actually, that given the legal circumstances, i might buy one.
TheCloudhopper Why do you think you should be able to control other peoples lives and put limits on their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness?
You're entitled to your opinion. Thankfully in this country our right to defend ourselves isn't infringed by those who "don't see the point." Again I would protect the rights of any one to think otherwise even though. Glad to see that even though your not "pro-gun" you can see the pure enjoyment in sport shooting.
efred22 what the heck dude, he literally just shared his opinion.
TheCloudhopper No one gives a flying fuck.
TheCloudhopper Hiding in the closet like that...You don't deserve shit. You'll see.
Freakin crazy is a fair statement to describe that tube
I noticed that the wind was blowing pretty good. Could your misses have been due to light ammo in the wind?
