Travis needs to enjoy the win man he deserves it and at the end of the day it's a win for both of them. That's why the Hansen's have been dominating the way they have because there's no tension there and they are a unit. Speed is a champion in his own right and I cannot wait to see what he does next year cause he is an absolute monster.
I feel for travis, hopefully when speed sees the replays he'll make travis feel better, nothing could be done about that incident.... this is by far the best rallycross series in the world already, world rx has become a joke unavailable to most spectators, this is open to all and the racing's alot better, that's why the Hansen's keep taking part more will come over from world rx next season I reckon 👌
I don't know what the letter of the law is there, but Pastrana went both front wheels off the track and used Scott to break for the turn. The stewards should have slapped Pastrana down for that. Not a huge Scott fan, but that trophy should be his.

@@michaelbeck6937 the trajectory of his car if he hadn't managed to swing it round would of been nose first into scotts rear quarter causing him to spin out and neither of them winning the championship, plus they would have been collected by the rest of the field, Scott speed has since said similar himself 🤷♂️
@@maybenot6075 I'm a huge Travis fan but it could have been avoided. Either take the contact of Hanson pressuring him, or slow it down into the first corner. There was almost no brake attempt 🤷 it's a mistake and it happens, but in the final race against your teammate that arguably might have won instead of you, it becomes a bigger mistake
@@Rmat7 False. you can clearly see the weight of the car shift forward under braking right before he got popped up on two wheels in the onboard footage. You also see him pull handbrake so that he doesn't spin Scott and send him to the shadow realm. There was nothing else he could do and actually saved the both of them.
On the first corner Scott Speed was concentrating on pushing Timmy Hansen wide while Kevin Hansen was doing the same by pushing Travis Pastrana to the curve but ending up hitting him so no way Travis couldn't of avoided hitting Scott.
Travis Pastrana definitely deserves to win the championship 🏆 well done Travis!!

Rallycross may be my favorite type of racing. The nitro circuits this year were great too. I actually like this one the most because of the pavement and long dirt turns
I'm glad Travis won. His humility is worth at least 1 extra championship point anyway :) It's too bad he couldn't celebrate it win properly due to the circumstances, but I don't blame him or Kevin for the turn 1 incident. That's rallycross. And it's the last race of the season to boot. You can't expect anybody to hold anything back.
I saw a drone footage video on twitter three weeks ago and started watching everything from round 1 this year forward. Heya social media team: you won a fan. This was awesome, the whole thing, and can't wait to see next year.
This was an amazing season with tons of great racing! I hate it for Speed but Travis had two wheels in the air and wheels in the air can’t brake

@@ethanbrandt1827 you're missing the point that you make yourself... He put that car in the position. He did that. He's responsible for where his car is. If he puts it in a place where he'll have no control over it.... That's a penalty. Imagine the carnage anyone could explain away if all they had to do was say they lost control of the car lol. His responsibility not to do what he did, therefore should have been a penalty but I imagine if that happened, being the US n all, someone would've been shot lol
From what I saw on the clip Kevin pinned Travis in the corner and sent Travis on 2 wheels. At that point nothing Travis can do.

Man I'm a two wheeler rider and a fan of MotoGP, no doubt about but this rally race is awesome.

Full respect to Pastrana! I've watched him in and out of SOV. Personally this takes me back to Rally of yesteryear when drivers cared more about each other than a win. It also seems KB has had a fantastic influence on who Pastrana is now. Pastrana's reaction seems totally KB to me.
Top respect to Pastrana, Block and Speed. All 3 have come a long way.

When you're the boss who starts the championship, you get away with more. Kinda a reoccurring theme for Travis this year unfortunately
Scott was clearly upset by it, but he understood at the end of the day it was racing. Pissed him off I'm sure but he knew it wasn't Travis's fault.
And the penalty for Pastrana to crash into Scott's car? Or it only applies to Timmy?
It seems that in the first turn they expect that type of contact.
Seems pretty clear to me that Kevin turned his car into Travis' line and when they made contact during the braking zone Travis' car lifted off the ground. When tires aren't in contact with the ground they don't do a good job at braking. But yes, they have created a sport that encourages first corner antics because odds of passing someone after that first corner are pretty low. All of these races play out like real world Gran Turismo dirty racing lobbies. It generates likes, comments, and subscribes and they wouldn't have it any other way. If they actually cared about clean racing they would spread out the starting grid a little more.

Congratulations Travis Pastrana. This Championship you guys created is super cool! Insane tracks very entertaining.
After analyzing the footage I'm going to blame the surface. Travis runs the outside weels in that slippery dust after refusing to yield to Kevin. Should he have braked sooner? maybe but this is NRX not circuit racing.
I like Travis very much since for ever, nevertheless if I was race director I'd probably punish that move simply because S.Speed can't be taken out like that or else anything goes.

As a lifelong Travis fan I'm happy to see him win, and the benefits to this new championship to have someone as famous as him win... But I hope they toughen up on him a bit next season. He made extremely dirty passes on both Timmy and speed this season that could have cost them the championship over him.... That's not the way to win

NRX stewards can’t be consistent for at least one round. Either give penalties or don’t. So many drivers done dirty by race officials
Not tryin to down play their commentary, but if Pastrana is going to win anyways who cares who came in first? Seems pointless to say anything if another driver is the technical winner 🤷🏻♂️

There are two reasons Travis and Scott could have made contact in turn 1 and the comments seem to only assume that Travis was traveling too fast, but what if Scott was intentionally traveling too slow? The only way Scott was mathematically going to win the championship was if he made sure one of the Hansens got between he and Travis. One way to orchestrate that would be to take a line that forces Travis to slow down more than both Hansens on the outside by entering wide and cutting in tight. It might have worked if it weren't for Kevin and Travis colliding hard enough for Travis' wheel to lift off the ground right as they started braking.
Kevin Hansen should have been penalize twice for hitting TP in the 1st corner and for hitting Scott Speed coming out of the joker , TP so humble didn't want to take the championship he said not like that but it wasn't his fault, it was all Kevin's fault
Andrew did a great job this season. The other dude really, really needs to go. He's literally the worst commentator I've ever heard.
Jarod did a really nice job as the season went on in my opinion. They work well together.

Clearly you havent heard the guy they replaced Andrew Coley with in worldRX lol. Jarod grew on me during the season, but you need to remember hes sitting right next to a true legend of a commentator. The worldRX guy is just utterly terrible though even conpared to Jarod.

And as for the argument "electric cars are so fast!" the ICE cars have limitations placed on them to slow them down already. Its a terrible, illinformed argument to make, electric cars will only be faster if they are allowed to be.
And finally, a substantial part of motorsports and the automotive hobby in general is the feel and sound. Electric cars do not have the soul, the feeling that ICE does, and people will just migrate to motorsports that understand this.
So yea, I've loved american rallycross in all its forms since the original x-games days, but I won't be watching in 2021 if you go electric

I'm genuinely happy for Pastrana, but to say that Kevin "squeezed" him that hard is just a useful lie. You just can't go that fast into the corner if you are on the inside.
How is it a lie? Dude was pressing him the moment they launched. Travis has the line on the inside, so why is it up to him to yield to Hansen? 🧐
You seem to be forgetting that the alternative of Travis braking early would mean the contact with Kevin would have front bumper to rear, thus pitting him into the turn. You can visibly see him braking. Handbraking so the contact is door to door vs driving into his door like Elliot did to Faust was a good move. Can we also acknowledge that the Subaru’s sustained almost no damage from that collision? Even the added aero skirts were fine. Talk about being built well. Especially when Hansen had half a fender well flapping in the wind. 😂
Initially I thought the same, but looking at the replay, Hansen banged on Pastrana forcing him to the inside. "Squeezed" is not the right word. At that point, there's not a lot of time to make any adjustments. Carrying that much speed into that corner, and bouncing up on 2 wheels threw Pastrana outside.
It looked bad live, but after watching the replay at 16:36 you can see what happened better.
No way, Hansen’s move was pretty shitty and left Travis no choice. And yes you can go that fast on the inside its rally…
A lot happened in just a few seconds. But I think what kept Travis from slowing down was his left side ended up driving up Kevin's car, meanwhile the right side is in the dirt. This provides a fraction of the braking power he anticipated he would have.
Kevin was pushing hard enough to get Travis' car to drive up the side of him. There is some fault on Kevin for it too.
