ABOUT PAPADAKIS RACING:
The Papadakis Racing team began drifting in 2004 and is the most winning team in Formula Drift history, earning the 2015 title with driver Fredric Aasbo, as well as backto back championship titles with driver Tanner Foust in 2007 and 2008. The Rockstar Energy Drink / Nexen Tire Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the latest competition build from the Hawthorne, California, based team.
Team owner Stephan Papadakis is a legend of sport compact racing who began building his reputation in the 1990s with the first front-wheel drive, tube-chassis drag car in the U.S. The team earned multiple records and championships in the discipline, turning in elapsed times and trap speeds previously thought unattainable in front-drive drag cars. Papadakis' successes in front-wheel drive were matched by his efforts in rear-wheel drive when he campaigned a Honda Civic that became just the fifth car to join the NHRA's Sport Compact 200 MPH club - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I love this guy's videos. Always straight to the point of exactly what needs to be said and presented
He's the absolute best. Fire content. Just wish his vids were 30+ minutes....10 is just a cock tease!
Most people do this much information in three or four times the episodes
It's great content but I wish the video was longer. Would like much more detail on each section of the build. He talks pretty quick too so it feels rushed watching it. It feels like a teaser for the proper video.
Couldn`t agree more
Carl Computer yeah it’s fucking annoying. Hate skipping through videos.
Damn!! Wish this was 50 minutes longer!!! Papadakis always has the BEST content. This build looks amazing. Hope we will see more soon!! A+++
THIS!
me tooooooooooo
Jep... A shame this video is only 10 mins long.
I couldn’t agree more lots of nice semi tech stuff but not so much that it gets boring.
Hell yeah !
No music, no lens glare, no personal completely unrelated vlogging bullshit, no nonsense. Straight to the point, always on point. Beautiful!! And thank you!
This is one of my all-time favourite build series. Thank you Team Papadakis for even bothering to take the time to record all this work when you're surely very busy, and double thank you for the concise and informative narration that goes along with it. This is the "How It's Made" car fans needed!
The quality of their work is insane! Also the way he explains things... I’d watch if he made a video on how he makes a sandwich or how to use a coffee machine.
it makes you that stupid that you dont know how to make yourself a sandwich or coffee?
Hell if he made an hour long video on which leg he puts his pants on first in the morning id watch the whole thing.

For real. I kept getting older videos popping up and I'd get all excited for nothing
As a mechanical engineer, i truly love to see the CAD design and the assembly of this project. Thanks you to show us all the bits.
Not only is the craftsmanship second to none your narrating skills are fantastic.
It blows my mind how they made a roll cage without laying a hand or seeing the car. Love your work 👍
What do you mean. They already 3d scanned the inside of the car
David C that’s exactly what he means.
It's all designed and measured with computers. No one is doing anything manually by hand and tape measure.
Dude what century are you living in I did this in high school 5 years ago in inventor??? I was 16 lol
‘How to turn a $4,000 rollcage into a $30,000 rollcage.’
Can't wait to see this, seems like this is going to be the truest representation of what a modified 2020 Supra can be! Thanks for the content Guys!!!
It's really no longer a supra
It is one of the best B58 stories on the planet

I really love this entire build because of all of the scientific processes, 3D printing, scanning, etc.
What other CZcamsrs could spend 5 hours you just did in under 10min with no ads!! Pure respect!
Steph, you and your team never fail to impress! Regular people like us never get to see the cutting edge of motorsports technology, and on top of that you do an amazing job breaking everything down. I would drop everything to take a class on competition car building if you taught it!
They are basically just normal professional car builder as we might expect. But, what makes they different with another is they tell us how they work with their knowlegde. And it's a big deal
Dude. What are you doing here. Go finish your project. Were waiting
@@user-ls9ff4cu9x Sorry lol!
GOD DAMN I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!!
I'm 5:35 into a 10 min video and he literally is just so direct on the videos I LOVE IT. If this was any other channel I bet each little part, piece, and modification would be a 50 part series. Lol
I love that he skips the traditional 'hey guys, howya doin', this is yer boy XXXDrift69 with another build video. But before I get started, I want to give a shout out to ... "
Papadakis gives us nothing but interesting and informed content. I wish I had the money to hire them to build my MX-5 into the beast it so desperately wants to be.
He did say at the beginning he didnt want to give all his secrets away, just be thankful that he and his team let us in for the amount they do, looking forward to the next vid!
Other youtube car channels are preschool...this is doctorate level...the camerawork, the no nonsense approach, the amount of info...excellent
Always love the insane quality and detail in these videos!
Detail? Lol more like I brief overview.
Easily one of the most dense build videos I've ever watched. Wish these where an hour long! :P Can't wait for the next one!
exactly what i thought

And here I am, proud as a three peckered puppy I changed the lower ball joints, outter tie rod , and rear axle bearing on my wife's car.
This video was amazing, I could watch hours of this without a doubt.
I wonder how the old school fabricators feel when they see how far the technology has come and how much easier and quicker it makes a job. The laser notches alone probably saved a day of work
Honestly, you don't save time. But you get repeatability and accuracy. CAD design time, machine setup, and extra steps make it a longer process than traditional cage work.
@@tanners.6524 Don't forget that with the CAD design you can also test the integrity of the cage as well. HUGE benefit.
@@tanners.6524 How You dont save time with laser tube notching? And setup for this process is quick compared to other machined parts, You don't have to make fixtures, set it up few times to machine few sides etc., and compared to manual notching, it just cuts both ends and done, while with manual You would have to set it up at an angle for first notch, then cut to lenght, setup angle for the second notch and the rotation of the tube in relation of the first notch. It's like 3-4 times faster.
You can email a rollcage/chassis to a supplier of Your choice and get it to back, all done in a week or so, compared to either finding local guy that can do it (and You cant work on Your car during this time) or transporting the car to someone decent.
I can tell you, they say “I could do it faster and easier the old fashion way”
MindBlowerWTF you start scanning and generating that mesh file bud, I’ll have the car plated and the main hoop up before the scan file is actually useable. On top of that. The Equipment and software costs really take the fun out of it. But repeatable and accurate annnd you can test many variations before hand if you want to get into load testing and such.
I can never believe one can be more "To the Point" in a presentation.Hats Off Sir
Papasakis’ videos are the only videos that I stop what I’m doing and watch !
I fucking love how no-nonsense these videos are. No clickbait, no stretching out the length, just pure, brilliant quality content. As a first year uni student, it's also exciting to see Solidworks in actual use. Great work as always. :)
This should be the benchmark of how car videos should be made. Concise but jam packed with info. Kudos!
Sooo effing awesome!!! The quality and next level work is something that just makes this channel so great!! And man I'd love to work there! 😁
I'd like to work in that tube shop
@@johncuervo3019 Yeah I was thinking about that for quite a while after watching this, really makes me miss working in drag racing professionally (access to the best of the best tools, equipment and people year-round -- i.e. when I got worked @ John Force Racing, EPIC race shop 😁😊 - good memories!)

LoL 🤣 The only thing wrong with these videos, is they don't come out often enough....😞 😜🤣😂👍👍
What i love about this channel is that they get straight to the point without any BS...
I live in a country called Belarus and watch your every video. Thank you for showing your working methods, it develops a culture of building cars all over the world. Thanks Stefan!
That would be my dream job! I love Solidworks so much and seeing all these CAD models turning into reality is literally jaw-dropping. 3D printing fitment prototypes before machining is so helpful!
Solidworks is such a pain lol. Glad you enjoy it tho, someone's gotta do it.
"How to make a Toyota Supra cost as much as a Bugatti...."
Papadakis Racing: "I'll give it a shot"
How much does it cost to build a pro drift car? This project is an amazing "spare no expense" exercise as far as I can tell.
Welcome to the world of competitive race car preparation.
@@alexmanning8710 This car could easily be worth into the millions, some can argue 1-2+ due to the sheer amount of customization considering they're rebuilding EVERYTHING about the car.
Well a Bugatti just can't really drift, so your comment doesn't make sense! Further more, Papadakis for sure is creating tons off the shelf parts to make your new supra a drift car and they'll surely cover the dev cost with ease selling these!
@@Dr.DiegoDuarte lol! Sorry you trying to make literal sense of my comment.
This build is going to create a whole new generation of Supra fans. Amazing job!
Exactly how a build video should be done. No rambling on, no BS, straight to the point. Well done 👍
Dude, you could make a video on how paint dries and I’d watch it.
Well the car is in bare metal so your wish will soon be granted.
God damn That is gonna be one sexy car, specially with that B58 🤤
I can sit and watch videos like this all day long. I wish it would be longer.
Not a single time i got bored on the detailed explanation with the 10 min duration. Such an awesome build! Very promising!
Yes! I have been waiting for this all week, just straight to the point with the best quality and details!
Thank you so much for giving this education out!
I was shocked when you spoke about finding the center of a hole and it blew my mind..
Frickin AWESOME WORK!! Keep it up!
You're like the TED talks of race car building... this whole thing is on another level.
It's so kind of you to make things like this accessible. As in most professions, replacing myths with truths only serves to highlight how impressive things really are.
Amazing work can’t wait to see the finish product
I was just thinking about you, I'm so glad you make this videos, it's the best of it's class on CZcams.
Your work is so amazing.
Wow, this is very satisfying to see a car built with this much precision. That rear diff is so cool too.
Papadakis , the actual opposite of Dahm. No stupid hair product plugs, no dragging out stuff , no minutes of showing boxes, no 4th grade jokes. If we wouldn't build our own cars, this is the guy I'd want. Honest, talented, fast.
Freaking love this channel! Keep the content coming, Steph. You're so well informed, and your build are crazy good. Wish the best for you and your teams efforts!
Watching these videos showed me what exactly I want to do with my life
Always enjoy these videos. Full description from start to finish with quality work!
I've been using a caliper for a number of years now and that trick for finding center to center just blew my mind. So simple and obvious, but so clever.
Love the 3d scanning and solid works content! Btw warm kitchen background all the way, that’s the only one I use
These videos are so good. Ive really had it with these Rob Dahm, vlog style, videos. This format is so much better. Would love to see even more detail.
Man this series is so awesome! I love how precise and over built everything is.
Papadakis’ contents are always straight to the point. Love the videos.
A perfect start to 2020, i'm hyped for this

Love how you step by step everything your doing, and actually show how it's being done. Instead of hiding things, you're teaching things.
Imagine spending all this time building a car & someone put it into the wall on the 1st drive & demolished it 😯
This is one of the best builds I've seen on CZcams. So much information.
Its a competition car, they will be fine as long as customer is keeping up with the payment - and thats why You put everything in CAD, driver can bin it and they can just order spares to be made if they run low.
@@MindBlowerWTF AHH makes sense. Can be a lucrative business then if people are regular customers.
You guys went far and beyond, nd stripping down the body to plain, to the last piece, sink it in chemicals, rebuild the whole engine, at this point, I don't even think it matters , if it is a Supra, or you get a Z4, or a 3 series, or an old Supra NA motor, for cheap, then do the same, strip it, soak it, scan it,, put new engine, mounting points, structure cage bars welded. You can do it with a Miata, you can do it with an Evo 6-9, any good platform to start with. So much custom work, that you build a new car, a racecar, with custom carbonfiber driveshafts, and I can't even remember half the list. Big brakes, big tires, just speechless. This is amazing, great work guys.
Damn, this is pure gold!
I remember when I bought a ton of stuff from Papadakis at Driver's Image for my shop. The man was straight forward, showed me his drag civic and saved me a bunch of money once I reached jobber price.
Amazing top tier professionalism at work here. Mind boggling.
Absolutely blown away at the quality and new technology for all the fab work!! Incredible!!
never clicked so fast in my life. just took the Supra training course at GST Training center. I'm liking what I see so far!
Imagine being the guy that get to drive this masterpiece
the way you fount the center to center distance was so simple and smart
That center-to-center measurement trick just blew me away... so simple and fast, but never thought about it.. thanks! Awesome content, as always.
Man... a thought crossed my mind while watching this one..
"I wonder if I could build a car with the bits they get rid of"

This was the episode that really showed me how much special thought goes into making this thing a true drift car! Awesome work Papadakis team!
The quality of this content is totally crazy. Fantastic guys.

the one dislike is the guy that still makes the BMW joke
This is my favorite video blog. He’s super good at explaining his builds. Very interesting to see the absolutely latest equipment used in these amazing cars.
The craftmanship and the effort to put in just ONE car is just mindBlowing.... 😱

This is fascinating. The amount of knowledge in 10 minutes. My brain is blown.
Outstanding series. Really appreciate bringing us along for this build. Team!!
It is so amazing to get a brief view into your world. Next level. Not sure if all race programs are this detailed (or maybe more). Simply amazing. Thanks for continuing to share.
Incredible build. So much attention to detail.
Great videography as well.
Hands down the best channel on CZcams. The content is fire. Straight forward no bullshit
Love this channel. I work in aerospace engineering and I can't express how satisfying it is to watch you CAD something, print it, make it and run it. We go through months of rigorous scrutiny just to change a bolt.
The amount of precision and planning that has gone into this is very satisfying to watch. I'm almost more excited to watch more prep on this car than actually seeing the finished product.
This is by far one of the most educational car channels out there. 😯 The skills of this team are incredible.
Respect, for you Mr Papadakis !
Because without a real manager, a real team can't be made ! Your videos are beyond inspiration, are real learn and development pieces.
Holly cow that's crazy amounts of work. Legit build got that wow factor
How is it even possible there are dislikes on this video or any of your videos. So informative and straight to the point. Best car channel out there!
I really enjoy the creative mindset and engineering that goes into a Papadakis build. Way to go team!
