This script is what happens when people type in racist stereotypes into their ChatGPT
I just started episode one…I’m like what the hell is this filth😂😂 they took a great show and did this.
The new show is so disrespectful towards the original show and to the black community 🤦🏾♀️
fr why does a family tv show reboot have big mouth humor? it’s actually strange like the menstrual blood one…
@camidumbass at least big mouth didn't have such racist humor. (It was still bad, tbough)
Lol its a accurate depiction tho😂😂
It looks so low-key racist I had to click this video just to see how bad it is. I roll my eyes whenever I see the animation and artstyle
@@WrldWideOp🦝🦝🦝
Some writer thought that the daughter splashing her menstrual blood onto the walls and into peoples faces was peak comedy 😮💨
The fact that this whole show had a writing room is astonishing
Wtf????
so they probably are aiming this show towards middle schoolers, cause that's the only audience that could find that funny
nah even middle schoolers r disgusted
Who let the Big Mouth writers out here
Never seen either show, but this looks like a classic case of an existing IP being slapped onto a completely unrelated property, a la Velma.
The art style made me think of Velma.
@@connormclernon26the way it moves makes me think of coconut fred
5:52 Seth MacFarlane is one of the executive producers for the reboot… he just wanted another Stewie
"But he sells drugs instead of being an evil genius because he's BLACK 😂 GET IT?" 🙃
Buuurraaaain look, i'm black now my G.
Make a black stewie he probably said
everything makes sense now.
But Stewie is a genius. He’s making time machines and robots why the black one got to be a drug dealer?
You don't have to be a "heterosexual" male to think the 3rd episode is gross, disgusting, and not funny.
Yeah I noticed that silly statement...and to be honest by his voice I couldn't tell if he was heterosexual or not. It has a little ~Twang~..respectfully
@@8macvarthat’s disrespectful ash he doesn’t sound near feminine at all
@@daquaviusvontaviusjr436 .....k
@@8macvar Yeah I hear that twang too....a little zesty!!
What is with these comments
I just finished animation school, and I was fortunate enough to work on a few projects. From what I learned, the title of "executive producer" may not necessarily mean that the person was directly involved. Sometimes people are awarded the title executive producer simply because they provided some kind of funding or aid/resource. So Steph Curry may have just been told hey we’re doing a show here’s our pitch, we need funding. Then he provides money to get the project started, boom. Executive producer.
yeah it’s pretty much always the writers who make everyone look bad lol
Nah no excuse tf
Some of the comedy, and specially the baby being a genius drug dealer...That's definitely Seth Influence.
The dad has the same facial structure as Donkey Kong. That is all I will say
That was insult for Donkey Kong. He's much better than this annoying man
The show is terrible, the animation is bad, the plot is stupid, this whole show is stupid
The animation is good with a new unique art style, the plot is the same as old good times, it’s one thing to think it’s dumb because it’s repeated but it’s literally the same.
You just yapping?
@@browhatfrthatscrazybrobruh6991 Bruh, for certain shows, the animation will work, the art will make it shine.
For this show, the show sucks, because of that, the animation is terrible as it does not match with it
You can't grab mayo and splash it on the wall and you yourself calling it art and forcing the people to call it art as well.
@@jeanpierre4370 the animation matches the show just fine, what are you even talking about btw? A shows writing quality can affect its animation? Just say you don’t like the show, the quality of the animation and the quality of the writing are unrelated
@@jeanpierre4370 wth are you talking about? This ain’t some abstract art, there’s no room for your shitty anology.
The animation and designs are objectively unique, there are no shows that look like it and the animation quality is higher then most, it’s one thing not to like it but just ignoring its quality is stupid
"Who do we have a talking baby?"
Executive producer: Seth Macfarlane
And Steph Curry look it up
seth mcfarlane seems like the type of dude to say “you don’t understand it cause you’re black” about a black show he made 💀
He is the typical far left Liberal... Remember that he basically self insert in Family Guy, as the dog, who got worse with time, and so did Seth.
Rallo: "Hey, 'sup?"
Stewie: "Yeah, keep walking, you Boondocks ripoff."
5 seconds into the trailer I thought to myself, "This *feels* racist"
We already got god-tier black animated shows, Boondocks, Black Dynamite, The PJ’s, The Proud Family, Static Shock (kinda?). This shit looks like shit.
No, the proud family is far left propaganda
@@randombro89 It hasn’t always been. That movie definitely was tho, holy shit.
PJs, that's a classic
@@randombro89How so?
@@randombro89brother the boondocks is that WAY MORE than the proud family, what are u even talking about? If “far left propaganda” upsets u, u definitely should’ve went after the show with a African American revolutionary named after one of the founders of the black panther movement first lmao
The animation in the b roll is so frustrating to me, it goes back and forth from really sick to "how did this get greenlit"
some of it is legitimately cool and other shit is powerpoint nightmare
I knew it was terrible when I saw the trailer.
I feel bad for Marsai Martin
I didn’t even watch the trailer girl I already knew from the cover 😂 there was no way they were going to do the original justice
We don't just love Robert Freeman because he threatens to beat Riley and Huey all the time, or because he has Horny Granddad Syndrome. We also love him because after getting beat up by a blind old man, the show took the time to explore his humiliation. And after a rematch ended with him beating the man to death, the episode ended on the somber note of him building the man a memorial and praying for his soul despite how comically spiteful he was.
Point being, sometimes the humor isn't the only thing you need for a successful or entertaining adult animated cartoon. You need heart, and soul too. Even Family Guy waited until Season 2 for the first Chicken fight scene.
Why is the baby dressed the way he's dressed if they're struggling to pay rent? And taxis and pool bars are still things
The baby has drug money but the dad refuses it in the first episode lol
Because he’s as drug dealer. Get it? Cause he’s black and lives in the hood?
my teacher in my uni class worked on the show as an animator, she said that the producers literally asked them to make the animations more choppier when they handed it in.
Easier to animated, and cheaper to do... That's why it is like that.
Netflix chasing that Velma money.
This is not Good Times. This is more like The Proud Family and Fugget About It had a crack baby.
Fugget About It is actually good tho
Bebes kids
Don't insult the original Proud Family... Now if you mean the new one, then oh they that fits.
And the proud family used to be good before it’s reboot
I said, if they had a crack baby. I loved the Proud Family fyi. @franciscorafaelmontielpale7854
Why is the dads mouth animated to be so freaking large?? Like wtf were they thinking?
This reminds me of season 4 of the Boondocks. It just wasn’t any good after Aaron McGruder left.
I wwouldn't even say it was THAT good...
It still had it's magic, but yeah some of the topics went really to your face like a brick
Wow, I legit thought I was watching a bigger youtube channel until I saw your viewer count and had a double take, barely more than mine! Anyways, you're definitely worth a sub, I look forwards to seeing more of your videos.
Edit: at the time of the post he had 35 subs... At the time of this edit: 135... Now 200.
Holy shit I've never seen a channel take off so fast. At this rate he'll have 573,440 by next week.
Woah, I didn't even notice I was watching a smaller channel until I read this comment bc I didn't even think to look but I really thought I was watching a bigger channel too!
Same but only thing is there’s way more than you so not barely
The PJs did it better
@@Tom-qt6dj He gained 100 subs over night...
@@Tom-qt6dj I thought you were being like 'Hey, he has twice as many subs as you' and I was like, '2x nothing is nothing, bra'
What's really bad about the "Candyland" scene from the period episode, is that it was actually based on the Munchkinland scene from The Wiz. So he was messing over TWO Black classics.
I'm white and I LOVE THE HECK out of the original, it was there for me more than my real parents were growing up, and wasn't afraid to talk about stuff
I'm wondering what's next.. Family Matters, 3s Company, (the animated) Fat Albert, ALl in the Family, Jeffersons??? UGHHHHHH
Well probably not Fat Albert cause nobody wants to give Bill Cosby money like that.
@@TheOwneroftheIC Mr Crosby is a pioneer and a great black man.
@@QuadriviumNumbers And a serial rapist. That's the part people don't like.
I am so glad that you clocked that about James and Reggie. Because I didn't understand the correlation with it either
I feel like the writers of the show saw dave chapelle's drugdealing baby joke and just ran with it.
I can't figure out who this show is supposed to be for. Like who the intended audience is
Racist twelve year olds
Bad tv show reviewers and curious people are the most likely audience for this type of show
For white people, who think this how you represent black folk. Also for Black Twitter, who glorified the ghetto life.
I'm still confused how someone pitched this idea and wasn't attacked on the spot..... only reason I looked at any was because my barber turned it on. Its an animated minstrel show. Im even more shocked at the actors who agreed to work on this trash 🗑️......its as funny as watching a funeral
I watch all 10. It never touched Reggie and was stereotypes littered. Good thing I saw the upshaws right afterwards
The Upshaws is def a good palette cleanser
It's so infuriating we're in an era of adult cartoons with good direction and style but terrible plot and characters between this and Velma. I remember when bad cartoons both looked AND were written like shit.
If James Evans was still alive he would have given his grandson The Big Mac a long time ago.
This show looks like if Klasky-Chupo was the studio behind The Boondocks
Does anyone remember that Comedy Central show Legends of Chamberlie Heights?
Fun fact (or not fun) the much hated new Velma cartoon opens with two roaches having sex as Daphne steps out of the shower.
So if you want to make a bad animated show based on a beloved 70s property, make sure you open it with character in the shower and some roach near by.
So, the original show was about good, relatable people trying to make it through a bad environment, and then the sequel *makes the baby a drug dealer because the writers think that’s funny* ? 🤨
It's Hollywood they think that being anti racists, is about portraying harmful stereotypes as a good thing.
Really good content man, keep it up. Excited to be able to brag about how I found you before you got big in class couple years ago
Only good to come out of this show was your review of it. Keep up the good work, I'll definitely be looking forward to your future projects. 👍
I really enjoyed your commentary on this so I checked your channel. I know your focus is mostly on music, and I think it’s terrific but if you’re open to doing other things. I think you’d do amazing making more commentary on animated shows. Thanks for a great video ❤ and have a lovely day 😊
I agree. But the kicker is- it wasn't even FUNNY. I couldn't even laugh at the bad stereotypes.
I was done as soon as the singing roach showed up!

As much as I despise this show, that was the only joke that made me laugh.
Hey this was a good video man! You should talk about the much better show King of The Hill I loved that episode and LOVE King of The Hill, that show was so good! Would love to see you cover your favorite episodes or something along the line.
I watched the entire series and enjoyed it for what it is meant to be as...comedy/satire. It reminds me of a black version of Family guy, another show I do enjoy! Im excited to see the next season and the shenanigans they get into with the Evans family.
The way you speak in your videos is so natural and pleasant. I like this very much
Steph Curry is trolling us in some kind of blacklove experiment
Lol ngl that's one of the most memorable episodes in King of The Hill
Here before 100 subs, you’re gonna blow up man.
They should have name this ANYTHING but GOODTIMES, if they would have come up with an ORIGINAL NAME the animation would have been judged off of ORIGINALITY because this has nothing to do with the show we all grew to LOVE.
My mom was a big fan of the original good times. And I recently showed her the wonders of animation so she was excited to hear about this.
After the second episode she threw the remote at the tv because she was so pissed.
It was shocking to hear my mother say “fuck being a fan” to a series that she used to brag about and genuinely loved.
I think Family Guy set the the trend for baby character doing adult stuff so yeah
Hear me out. What if they honestly just had a show ready, knew nobody would watch it and slapped the Good Times branding on top of it after the got the rights, changed the dialogue a bit, added the song at the beginning of the first episode and called it a day?
What other reason would you have to still make the family poor after the original show's ending? Why would you not even show the original family in a flashback, at the very least? I strongly believe this to be the case
😂😂 I'm finished..I said in another review that the ancestors are already punishing Steph for this by taking him out if the championship
"No more basketball for you lightskin" 😂
The sad truth is the “source material” was written by white writers too…🙄 So just by bringing it back told me ENOUGH.
What a horrible disgrace!
Showing love for the thumbnail G😂 My eyes would burn after watching that bs too
I give this show a 3/10. The worse thing a show can be is BORING. Even if it's overtly offensive, if it's interesting, at least it's done it's job. Tis show doesn't even deserve a 4AM slot on adult swim on Sunday.
All 3 points afr for the voice actors and maybe the music. That's it. The rest is *NOT* a good time. 👎🏾
Wow…….I am blown away by the total disrespect 🤢🤢🤢🤢
I’m laughing at how stupid this show sounds
Hangin in a chow line !
Please watch the remaining episodes so i don't have to. I haven't watched it yet but it doesn't seem to be a show that's for us or by us. There is no way of realisticly seeing a grandchild of James moving into the same projects in the same unit after he pushed his own kids to do better in life. I have known generations of people to live in the projects and are comfortable with that but just watching these clips of the show, it doesn't look enjoyable for me.
It's atrocious and the opposite of funny
The show was pretty bad from what Ive seen so far so watching the rest is a tall ask lol if the video hits 100k Ill watch the rest
When I animated on cartoons we first had to submit the key poses for our scenes, and after that was approved we'd move onto the animation phase. This show literally looks like they never did animation after the keys were finished. I don't know if it was because of deadlines or what because it looks too lazy to be a stylistic choice. The story seems bad for various reasons, but I'm convinced no one will remember this show in 10 years and we can pretend it never happened.
First the Cleopatra documentary, now this.
That is the cheapest most horrible animation framing I've ever seen come from a company, holy shit it was like I'm watching an animatic, they really only used 1-5-10 frames and said fuck in-betweens.
i liked it tbh
i think we should look past it and let it be its own show not some we used to watch as kids
3:57 KOTH is the goat besides Boondocks
The new good times show should be considered a hate crime
I only saw the second and third episodes, and didn't realize it was a Seth McFarlane show, but now it all makes so much sense.
11:03 fantastic point
Good Times? This the End Times smh
I felt attacked about the taxi driver thing lol
I also recommend The Pjs.
People still hustle in pool halls let’s be real
The series was created by Ranada Shepard and Carl Jones. With the latter worked on "The Boondocks"
I’m mostly Hispanic, my grandma is black. And I feel so bad for her that she had to see this shit.
Wow, Cree Sumner kept promoting this in her socials. I didn't expect it to be total garbage, or a reboot to Good Times. Ouch.
And the style is a copy of a french animated series : "Les Lascars"
This show set us back 100 years
The fact that this was green lit tells me they have a room full of white writers and a couple of washed up tokens on this project.
King of the hill is the blueprint for a great good times reboot keep grounded but still funny and they could be a family making money but living in New York which is expensive for everyday people they dropped the ball smh
Orville Season 5 better be on par with DS9's Season 4 and onwards to make me forget that producer credit...
In with you 100% except the pool hall they are very much still thriving especially in poverty areas
Even the title is racist, Good Times Black Again....Like Netflix and the show runners are taking the piss
99% of the writers and creators of the show are black, it literally makes no sense why it’s so racist and full of negative stereotypes
It sounds like it’s not very empowering to Black people. I don’t think I’m gonna waste my time seeing it.
"Empowering" .....Oh you're a woman I get it! I see your point but an animation doesn't need to be empowering just good!
The struggle gene☠️
Dude how old are you that you’ve never been to a pool hall? They literally have them everywhere, bars, pubs.
Growing up in idaho we got wgn Chicago so think ive seen most episodes
Steph Curry should be ashamed of himself. Funny thing is how could Curry (producer) have anything to glean subject matter from. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth LOL
Gone are the days of a normal and unique show without the race and stereotypical bullshit.
The arstyle is lit tho'
So they cancel inside job but let this bs get the green light? thats it im cancelling my subscription
Not too much on the Cleveland show now 😭
They only used the name Good Times just to attract audience that knew the og series
Love your take bro!!!! I write African and Diaspora SyFy. We need to write our own.
Can you refer me your work so I can support a black business friend?
Thank you for the support! More videos coming soon. Yeah if you can send me some of your work!
Just getting edited out soon.
It was DONKEY Kong song plug🤣🤣
Lol the walking being 2 frames less than the other stuff was pretty oof
Where's all the emotion, the care, the fucking point of the original show is STILL valid to this day...why and how fuck it up...
Everyone watched Good Times in the 70s. Not just black people. It's a shame everything is back to being divided along racial lines.
I'm going to be nice here, but I'm not going to handhold bigotry If you're trolling. good times takes place in the 70s, shortly after Jim Crow Laws and the Civil rights movement, there is still issues of red lining, no discrimination laws relating to jobs for people of color in the early 70s, you will not understand these nuances or intersectionality that adds more depth in the setting and tone, I say this as a black person, AND writer.
