I agree. Never allowing the Evans family to get out of their circumstances until the very last episode and not giving us a chance to see the other side of it was calculated.

I am glad I discovered you. I suspected this show would be trash. I am 61 and loved Good Times when it originally aired. I would welcome a well done sequel of what happened to the Evans kids after we saw them leave the apartment in the 1979 series finale. That would be the only thing I would watch. Shame on everyone involved in this wretched ripoff.

I tried to watch it
I watched it and it was a….choice. The first time I went to sleep on it. Then I went back to watch again and almost fell asleep again! But I was seriously hoping that it wasn’t THAT Stephen Curry and once I saw the name Seth McFarlane, I knew it was screwed. Also knowing the conflict they (Esther Rolle and John Amos) had on the original series, trying to keep it from turning into the minstrel show that it turned into, didn’t help my feelings either. It seems like they just threw ideas at the wall and whatever stuck, they went with. At the end of the original series, the family made it out , so how did they get back? There was also another major plot hole from the start, no clear lineage path was established, as to which Evans child Reggie Sr belonged to. That period episode was irritating, to say the least and it wasn’t at all informative in the way it should have been for a young lady going through that for the first. Also no female alive is slinging her menstruation all over the place, it’s uncomfortable and you don’t even want it to touch you. As a woman, the show runner should have known at least that part! It was an entire mess and they ended up trying to treat us like they did the first time, like we’re ignorant and we can’t see the bull for what it is.
It is an insult on its audience’s intelligence. Plain and simple

Are u Fckn kidding me..its a disgrace to the beloved show that kept sooooo many of us a kids company after school.. ITS wrong on sooo many levels ... its a complete misreprensentation of the family we all watched as kids and still do to this DAY SOOO DISSAPOINTED 😒

I hated the original “Good Times”. This show just sucks lol. Also, “The Wonder Years” reboot was great and “Abbott Elementary” is still going strong. Blaming us for this getting created is crazy work. I do appreciate you commenting, though!

I now know why Carl Jones walked away from the project.
I am not sure why it would be tye same title of a show which stood for the total opppsite of the original series.
The only thing whoch is similar os there is a father in the home, but to have someone illustrate "Bad Dad" is highly questionable.
I wouldn't put it past Stephen Curry to take part in something like this. He and his wife are incredulously classist. They petitioned against a neighbourhood having a place for the houseless to set up somewhere to live.
