We start this week’s news with the tragic story of the baby who lost her life in the horrific accident in Playa Blanca, then move on to lighter news from your favourite island. #lanzarote #news
Another brilliant podcast, thank you Mike. You set the tone perfectly at the beginning. You recently did a live video on Calle Mayor in Playa Honda. It’s an area I know very well after visiting Lanzarote for the last 25 years but I would guess many people who might have walked along the wonderful ‘strip’ at Playa Honda won’t know what is behind it, so a brilliantly informative video. There are so many parts of the island that visitors that stay in the 3 main resorts won’t know about, too many to mention here but no doubt you and Julie will produce some cracking videos going forward.
Price of fuel on Lanzarote always surprises me, our local Tesco in UK has petrol at £1.44 and diesel at £1.54, too early in the morning to do the conversion to Euros. Must be the UK taxation system affecting the price as the logistics of getting fuel to Lanzarote can’t be cheaper than delivering to UK. Just so you know it’s raining in the UK, enjoy the sunshine 😎
Hi Mike...great channel and thank you for these videos. With regards to suggested videos, could you do a general overview on life on the island please? We are planning to retire there in 12 months time and would be interested to hear your knowledgeable view of life in Lanzarote please. Topics such as nice residential areas to live, things to do, healthcare, climate etc etc etc. You have vast experience of life on the island, so it would be most helpful for us newbies! Thank you Mike.
Hi Steve. Thank you for the kind words. We don’t have plans to create a video for people looking to move here, but we have a ton of information on our website that will help you: lanzaroteinformation.co.uk/relocating-to-lanzarote/
You might also want to consider subscribing to our weekly newsletter, or even joining Club Lanza Info - many of our members there are foreign immigrants to the island, and in several cases, they’ve retired here: lanzaroteinformation.co.uk/newsletter/
Hi Mike, please keep the news videos going they are very informative, as are your other insights into life in Lanza. On our visits to Lanzarote I have seen that there are many football grounds on the island, most towns seem to have a football team. However I can't find any information about them. Would it be possible for you to provide some information and background relating to the football clubs that play on the island? Also, have you considered a local sports roundup slot as part of your regular news videos? Keep up the good work.
Each of the clubs has their own website, which will give you information (in Spanish) about the clubs and fixtures, so just Google, for example “Club de football Haria” and it will take you here: www.hariaclubdefutbol.com
Thank you for another highly informative and timely news update,, I wonder if you can help with information about the ferry to La Graciosa from Orzola, I.e frequency / Times & cost.. each time we visit we always find we have either missed it or there’s not a returning crossing later that day… thank you very much.
I’m trying to find out, Ian. Funnily enough, they sent out a fantastic press pack, and the only information missing was probably the most important - how to book, and how much?
The island is busy all year round. We have loads of immigration here. It used to be mainly British, but since Brexit, their numbers have dropped off, so lots of German, Irish, French and Italian.
Thanks for these videos Mike. Great to be able to keep up to date with news on the island for the weeks we are not there. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you, Andrew and we will! :)
Thank you Mike, I really enjoy watching your videos and updates..

Sad news
What the fucking drugs can cause😢
Hi, I'm coming to Lanzarote in May.
How busy would it be do you reckon?
Also, how bad is the immigration problem over there if it's even a problem.

House arrest ??.
