  • How does the best cavalry pair in the game, Nevsky with Joan of Arc [prime] work with horn of fury? Given the rage that Joan prime provides, do you even need a horn of fury on the march? And what talent build should you use? This video has the answers.

    Drogothein's video on the war drums is also interesting vs the horn of fury. His conclusion is you can go with less drums than horns for the same rage. Ty for the video

    One constructive criticism about wick and about anyone doing rage work is that they assume that every march is going to deal out counter attack damage. That just isn't the case in a five march surround, where one march is legit dealing and receiving both attack and counter attack damage. But, you have 4 marches that will be hitting the target and not be receiving direct attack from the enemy, meaning you will not be dealing counter attack damage. This really changes the face of rage gaining. It makes horn and feral nature a lot more relevant when you take the lack of counter attack (ie 16 rage per counter attack) into the equation.
    This is why I default to getting feral nature, and horn, almost always.

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před 11 měsíci +1

      My rage simulator allows you to remove the counter attack rage. But it's true most calculations assume you are also being attacked.

      @@PsychOutROK great! ty : ) I don't know if you have done the simulation specifically looking at the lack of 16 rage per turn. I am almost sure that I can bet that in such simulations, feral nature at 4 or 5, along with horn becomes a lot more relevant. : ) I'd be curious if you have or plan to have such a testing : ) cheers. and ty! great vid!

    Great video, finally someone who can do the math. For openfield, have you considered how having a william and/or war drums nearby would affect the results

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem

      I can put that into the simulator, all of those features are built it. It's a little tricky because those buffs can come at semi-random times.

  • @pokerchannel6991
    @pokerchannel6991 Před 11 měsíci +1

    hi: I make a big distinction between dealing out counter attack damage vs not dealing out counter attack damage. When I do a five march surround, at least 4 of my marches do not deal counter attack damage. (ie: the enemy is only directly attacking one of my marches, and that is the only march dealing counter attack damage). With each counter attack being 16 rage, that is a huge chunck of rage that I am not gaining. This makes the calculus for feral nature very very different. It is all the more reasons to max feral nature and to have horn. Those 16 rages per turn, or lack thereof, amounts to a huge delay in cycling.
    So conclusion: in a five march, often 4 out of the 5 marches will not be dealing counter attack, meaning it is all the more important to have horn and feral nature to make sure that we have the acceleration needed to fire off that skill.

    I feel like if you did this for every commander, that could potentially liven up all the vanilla talent builds everyone has posted everywhere :). Great job man! I personally would love to see what a Boudica\YSG w/ Horn and Feral Nature would look like since YSG is basically a walking Feral Nature bot himself haha.

      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem +1

      I've actually already run Guan + Leo, just never made a video about it. The optimal rage for Guan + Leo has either 2 points or 5 points in Feral Nature. Personally, I like 2 points there from a rage standpoint, so long as you have a good use of your other 3 points.

    In 1v1 its clearly horn and 3/5 feral nature is the best. But what about my 2nd march? Assuming nev+joan already have horn, should my 2nd march use horn or ring of doom is better? Can you do a test with 1st march nev+joan buff+horn, what item should 2nd march be?

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem

      Ideally both marches would have horn and ring. If you only have one horn and one ring, then I would put them both on your best march and use it as frequently as possible.

      Hey Jay - it's a good question. I haven't done many analyses on the proc horn (though my simulator can do it) but it is one I have thought about. I think the interesting tests will be on XY and Joan because of their rage mechanics, but it is worth checking out.

    Idk but to me it seems like rage timing the joan passive extra 2000 damage factor to work every skill cycle is better than having 6 turn cycles but missing the extra joan hit every other cycle

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem

      It's a good thought, but you are also reducing your uptime for all of the other active skill effects if you do that. The basic question is which is better: getting a bonus 3rd skill every cycle but slow cycles vs. a bonus 3rd sill every other cycle, but faster cycles? I'm pretty sure keeping your cycle speed faster is better long term, even if it means you only trigger joan's 4th every other cycle.

    Hey bud really enjoying the content lately and new look. Keep up the great work!
    Just a technical piece of advice: Somehow the sound track is just slightly off from the video. I don't know if you have it running through OBS with effects or delay but it's about 5-10ms off which becomes very distracting. I noticed it on a lot of your recent videos since switching to the new layout. Just something to look at.

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem +1

      That's a legitimately tough question. My vote would be to take William to 5551 first (that's a 190 sculpture investment from where you are at) so that you have a seriously legitimate cav march. Then try to get Joan to 5xx5. That's only 110 for her, but getting 5115 requires a lot of luck, so it is likely to be a much bigger investment.
      I might be persuaded to go Joan if your next KVK fight was a long way away though.

    • @PsychOutROK
      @PsychOutROK  Před rokem +1

      Sorry to disappoint you (thought it does seem other people found it useful). I think the key difference here is that not only does Joan give 20 rage per second for 3 seconds, she also procs rejuvenate more frequently because her skill fires twice (every other skill cycle). When you combine that with horn, questions about over-raging are certainly legitimate. In this case, I didn't even include other buffs that you might get like William's (in another video, I showed that they appear to stack). I also didn't include situations where her march is losing the fight (where the base rage gain is larger) or situations where surrounded, where more counterattack rage is generated. In any case, if you have suggestions for other questions, I would be happy to hear them.
