  • The new Octavia iV Hybrid Hatchback is the new plug in from Skoda.
    Our model is powered by a 1.4L TSI engine with a 13 kWh battery. Combined you will get 85 kW output from the electric motor, and 204 PS.
    We have the SE L 1.4 TSI 204PS DSG, which costs £34,825.00 with options.
    It's economical, fun to drive, and looks great in that Race Blue Metallic.

    Nice ‘normal ‘ review, thanks. Ordered my IV estate in SE technology trim and in petrol blue on a two year personal lease a few weeks ago and counting down the days until 7th Jan!

      Is the car in the review the same trim as the one you have ordered?

    Hello. It’s great to see a review. It’s amazing how much the Octavia has come on since the a7 facelift version I filmed last month. I much prefer the new version. It looks a lot classier. The amazing thing is I haven’t been in one yet, I always seem to get the a7 taxi. It’s amazing that the Octavia has been out since the 60s. Also the Octavia name (which means 8) was originally used because the 8th Skoda after the war was a Octavia.
    Oh I have learnt that in Russia and other parts of the world they don’t call it the VRs just the RS. I think some kind of argument between Ford and Skoda :)

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 2 lety

      oooo - a war of words! I think vRS sounds more menacing, so it’s a pity it’s not used there *A

      Actually they won a court battle for the rights to the "RS" name but chose to add a small v before it for 'Victory' hence vRS

    Skoda's evolution is amazing. Even when I sold them back in the mid 00s they felt like proper solid cars but very common sense. Now they have some fairly cutting edge styling to go with it. I hoped they might have kept with the proper heating controls though.
    Hopefully the hybrids will prove as durable as the diesels did. I remember there being a taxi on 480k came into our dealership for regular servicing

      Yes, the Skoda story reminds of the Subaru transformation, yes back then they were bulletproof, these latest cars are beautiful as well as functional, longevity appears good, but we’ll see in time, ooo what company car did you have back then?

      @@PlanetautoUK I was there from 2005 to 2007. We got company demos as company cars so once they sold or did 10k miles you got a new one. I had 2 Roomster 2s with the 1.4TDi engine - great little engine and wonderfully quirky cars - and a Fabia 2 with the 1.2 12v engine. Mine always felt a bit gutless but I've driven others since that felt much better. Our dealership also had the Proton franchise so I had 2 Impians, a Savvy and a Gen 2 as well. Interesting machines. Great in some areas but horribly flawed in many others. Many funny stories of my time in the trade which I will have to share with you at the social

    Great review as always and a good looking car. BMW looks for a decent price for the equipment.

    Ordered a Passat saloon off the company car list but it got cancelled as I think the cars no longer available? Really disappointed until I found the octavia sel. It’s got everything the Passat GT had that I valued so I’m ordering one in petrol blue for May 2022

    I lost count of the number of times he said 'As well'. But I do like his reports, much better than some 'Pro' CZcamsrs. It was Ben who sold me on the idea of the MG HS PHEV, a brilliant car, Much like the Škoda.

    If it's an Octavia it has to be a VRS for me. Apart from the MK3 facelift (with the awkward split front lights) they always just look right!
