✅ TYPE OF SURGERIES IN 2023
• Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS)
MICS is an approach to cataract surgery through an incision less than 1.8 mm with the purpose of reducing surgical invasiveness and improving surgical outcomes compared to standard phacoemulsification surgery.
• Artificial Intelligence Assisted Blade-Less Femto Laser Cataract Surgery
The artificial intelligence-based Laser ushers in a new era of automation, enhancing the skills of the surgeon, making the most difficult steps of Phaco surgery simple and 100% accurate, thereby improving the safety and visual outcomes of cataract surgery.
• Zepto cataract or Zepto Capsulotomy Device for Cataract Surgery
It is used in cases like Brown Cataracts, White Cataracts, One-Eyed patients, etc.
"Zepto Capsulotomy Device for cataract surgery" uses a handheld disposable device to create a precise and strong capsulotomy.
✅ TYPES OF LENSES IN 2023
• Monofocal: These are single focal-power lenses that enable focus at just one distance - either near, intermediate, or far (only one range can be selected).
Like most people, If you take the option to improve your distance vision, you will still need to use glasses while reading and writing.
• Trifocal: Trifocal Lenses provide a sharp vision for near, intermediate and distance vision.
They can provide total freedom from glasses and contact lenses after cataract surgery. You may experience some loss of contrast and haloes around bright lights at night time.
• Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF): It is a new IOL technology that has recently emerged in the treatment of cataracts. EDOF Lenses provide a sharp vision for far & intermediate distances and also a correct near vision to some extent. You might still rely on reading glasses for very close vision or for reading small print.
Unlike multifocal IOLs, EDOF lenses work by creating a single elongated focal point to enhance the “range of vision” or “depth of focus”. Hence, they have been proven to deliver the best visual result with lower instances of glares and haloes at night.
• Toric version of (Monofocal, Trifocal & EDOF): For patients with astigmatism (cylindrical number in spectacle power), astigmatism correcting lens, also known as a toric lens, can be selected to neutralize astigmatism. People with astigmatism experience blur at all distances unless it is corrected.
Monofocal, Trifocal & EDOF lenses also come in Toric versions and they can be used for people who have cylindrical power greater than 0.75 D
