  • In this video I show you how does the MILD-HYBRID engine work. Filmed in the new Seat Leon with 1.5 EcoTSI mHEV 150 HP engine. Next to the petrol engine there's a small electric motor, which means it helps the car.
    In other words, the car with mild-hybrid can coast at high speeds. On the video you can see that the revs go down and car maintains the speed (coasts), and with time speed is decreased but at a much slower rate compared to regular petrol engine.
    I managed to get to as low as 4.3 l/100km, but of course that was with careful driving during the night. Still - very impressive. In real life you can get around 6.5 litres combined so that's very good.

      @@bricknplay how is it bad for the engine???
      the start of the engine with mild hybrid is NOT like the one on a normal car with start stop where the starter motor turns 100-200RPM and then the engine starts with a judder.
      In a mild hybrid car, the alternator is also a starter and it spins the engine to idle RPM so there is no judder and almost no mechanical wear on the engine.

      DQ200 0CW is pretty good. Clutches can go ±150,000km, mechatronic ±300,000km.
      To replace clutches it will cost ~$400, flywheel -$410, mechatronic ~$300.
      If you can, buy a Toyota Corolla Hybrid 2.0 dynamic force E-CVT. It is more economical and reliable.

    So how powerful is the electric motor?

    • @MrZhilvinas
      @MrZhilvinas Před rokem +1

      For the electric motor in etsi engines the VW/VAG spec is +8HP of boost or -16HP in regen mode. However, its at very low rpm (1-2k) so ~60Nm of torque. With the boost the etsi reaches its rated torque almost as low as 1k RPM (but does not exceed it), hence the 'moveoff' assist marketing term.

    • @dragospahontu
      @dragospahontu Před rokem +1

      @@MrZhilvinas it's interesting that they still use DQ200 on eTSI models. I think the Mhev has too much torque for dq200.

    • @MrZhilvinas
      @MrZhilvinas Před rokem +1

      @@dragospahontu The DQ200 is rated for 250Nm, the same as as the 150hp 1.5l generates. The MHEV only boosts torque _up to_ the rated 250Nm at earlier rpm. It's a shame they do not boost the lower rated engines more though, the 130hp 1.5L is capped at 200Nm for example.

      @@MrZhilvinas it's interesting that on SUVs the 1.5tsi comes with a DQ381. Tiguan and Formentor have that transmission with the 1.5

    • @MrZhilvinas
      @MrZhilvinas Před rokem +1

      @@dragospahontu True. That's likely because the SUVs do not offer 1.0L engines, it makes sense to just offer all cars with the DQ381 for manufacture simplicity. The majority of the smaller cars use 1.0's or low power 1.5s, so they used DQ200 for the entire production line of the 'base' models.
      I wish it came with DQ381 though, LC would be neat to have.

This golf gets pretty close consumption but situation changes in high speeds. At 140 km/h My car consumes about 1-2 liters less than this one and my car is bigger and heavier and has worse aerodynamics. I see no reason why this mild hybrid is better than mine old good diesel
