The plaintiff class may only get a $12.00 check, but the lawyers get three new BMW's and a summer home. It's the American way.
That's the world's way.
They're not getting a check for $12.00, they are only going to get a $12 coupon which they could only use to buy Nintendo games. Companies like this will never give you your money back, any refund will be done through store credits or coupon, they do this so they get that money back. Remember back in the old days when the consumers sued Nintendo for anit-trust with their product, Nintendo didn't sent them a check, just a coupon and those same money they lose they got it all back. Any customers that never use those coupons had their money and time wasted anyways. This is why these lawsuits are nonsense, yes you win in the end but remember your award is not what you expected and you can't re-sue.
@@VOAN 1. It was a joke.
2. None of the plaintiffs are getting anything in this case, as it is being dropped.
3. No one sued Nintendo for antitrust. Atari sued Nintendo because they didn't want to pay a licensing fee, and lost.
4. Any damages paid by a defendant in a court case have to be approved by a judge, so if coupons are sent in lieu of cash, that is a judge's decision.
5. It isn't always about getting something in the end. These lawsuits are about holding companies accountable, even though it's usually only the lawyers who gain anything of significance, it will (or should) make Nintendo and other companies think twice about selling hardware without proper testing. They aren't inherently a waste of time. Though, the lawyers do like to stretch things out as long as possible. If you could bill someone $500 per hour, wouldn't you?
@@ZeusTheIrritableThey are meaningless.
Nintendo knows their whales are willing to pay them 50$ for cardboard cutouts and 60$ for minimal enhancements to a 10 year old Wii re-release.
At worst, they'll be annoyed then ask their legal team to issue cease and desist warnings to some red cross or unicef charity event for posting kid drawings of Mario and Peach.
Yeah lawyers all over the world would NEVER do something like that, only in America! 🙄
Where do you live where lawyers behave so charitably by the way? La La land? Never heard of it.
Hall effect sensors would eliminate the drift issue. Years ago, UK scientists conducting durability tests on the Switch Joycon controllers classified them as defective. How Nintendo addresses or disregards this problem in the next generation will be pivotal in defining its approach to quality control and quality assurance practices. All at an added cost and inconvenience to the consumer.
I never heard about that. I've had a switch for years and I've never had any issues.
I love my Nintendo I have 3 oleds but I wouldn't have needed 3 for more than trading Pokemon if the dock blowing it's self up with over power surging while playing in docked mode or the joy cons tilting like crazy making precise aiming a joke would of been a great selling tactic if you could buy a switch without the tablet because that's the only quality controlled part
Have an OG Switch and sent 3 of pairs of joycon for repair early when they offered it for free. Been 3-4 years and haven't had any of them drift since.
Yeah as far as I know the issue was fixed years ago. The best DIY fix was to just slide a small card under the sticks. Seems a manufacturer error left a gap big enough below the sticks that they get bent after rigorous use.
I’ve never had the issue personally because I don’t game like an angry gorilla and quickly swapped to the pro controller. But my guess is they figured out the same issue and just started padding out the controller below the sticks.
@@MysteriousStranger50 I had tried the bit of card stock under the stick as a solution back when it was discovered however I found that it only fixed it for a brief period.
Cant remember exactly but when I sent them out to be fixed, I opened it up again to see what was different and I believe they had added a small pad.
And agreed, Pro controller all the way. Bought a pair of them from launch and neither have had issues. Even with children using them.
@@MysteriousStranger50not fixed for me lol
In countries outside the USA, they make you pay to fix their shitty product.
@@flyingplantwhale545 I don't live in the US
I replaced the joysticks in both of our switches joycons at least 3 times before I finally got fed up and switched to hall effect joysticks. Took a bit to get used to the stiffer joysticks, but the drift is 100% gone now.
I bought Gulikit Hall Effect thumb sticks for the OG Switch, never had another drift problem again. They also make the KingKong 3 Max "Pro" style controller with the Hall Effect thumb sticks and triggers. I've never had a problem with my OLED. It was $20 for the pair and tools to install, far cheaper then hiring a lawyer !!!
I bought the King Kong Pro 2. It had, BY FAR, the most accurate hall effect sticks I've ever had. Each had a circularity error margin of like... 0.5%. Every other part of the controller that wasn't their thumbsticks was bootycheeks, though. Bad buttons that scraped the shell. Stiff bumpers. Poor bluetooth and expensive adapter. Went with a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro instead, as it's a much more solid controller IMO. I'll probably never buy another gulikit controller again, it was so bad.
@@bobaorc7839
I have an 8bitdo ultimate, great controller and a bargain price. I also have a cheap gamory controller that I've never had any issues with and it's just a cheap pad, no hall effect.
I got those hall effect replacement for 15$ here in my country but I stop buying the gulikit pro controller it has some faulty side so I'll wait for something better or look for other 3rd party just like the ultimate 8bitdo,I had and another a machenike controller I bought when I went to overseas seeing how cheap it was there to get save me another 10$ less
My original pair of joycons that came with my Switch back in 2017 did have drift, but when I upgraded to the OLED Switch model two years ago, I haven’t really had any issue with the joycons that came with it. I’ve also never really had much issue with my Switch Pro controller either. Of course, this is just my personal experience with joystick drift.
You will. You also must not play much. I repair this stuff for a living lol
I got stick drift on my oled joy cons while on a road trip. It's only a matter of time. They aren't any different
pro controllers are rock solid
I’ve played splatoon daily for almost 2 years and play my switch very frequently. No drift ever. Not issue with the pro controller and no issue with the joy cons. Albeit they’re used less.
I predominantly use my Pro Controller for that very reason.
S.E going multiplatform is a massive step in the right direction. Now they just need to focus on there RPG'S and stop making investor focused games and consultant political passion projects.
This.
Nah, they need to focus on making a good product that people will enjoy, doesn't mean it has to be an rpg. Einhander was a great shmup made by them. Ergheiz was a interesting fighting game, so was the 2 Bushido Blades.
So Nintendo who are so quick to sue others walk on the drift situation. Big corps always seem to get away with stuff. I won’t be buying the new switch for well over a year to gauge the new joy cons first. Once bitten twice shy and that
Just get a pro controller kek
@@MysteriousStranger50 how about you let me decide what I do with my own money fml
@@adamterry77Nintendo fanboy's nemesis are good financial decisions
You can buy better joy cons, or just replace the sticks with magnet ones.
@@MysteriousStranger50 The pro controllers have another issue though, with the D-pad. I bought two controllers and both have defective D-pads.
The class action lawyers get lots of money. The people get sadness
Sadness was a Wii game that got cancelled. So, the people don't even get that.
Only Sony Ponies and Xbots and their insufferable PC Mater Race bots have a lot to be sad about with buggy games that require loads of patches just to get the games to run smoothly 😂😂😂
I mean, lawyers do get paid too much. But the lawyers also were the only people doing the leg and paperwork to make a lawsuit and trial happen. Like you realize the judge also got paid? And the bailiff officer? The people sitting on their couch should be paid while all those other people should open up court for free that day?
those lawyer are Leech, get millions and consumer get a coupon for $5 off a title or product. That’s why I throw those letter in the trash.

I sent in a set of joycons for replacement/repair once. Wasn't much of a hassle and they came back relatively quick iirc. Eventually though I found it was quicker & easier to just replace the joysticks in my joycons w/hall sensor joysticks. Simple replacement kit w/4 joysticks was less than half the cost of a 2 joycons and they tended to last a lot longer for me.
That N64 tech is amazing. This is kind of a whole new species of retro gaming.
RDR: I'm still waiting for a 60fps patch / version for PS5 for RDR2. Maybe someday? I know there was a hack but I just want an official RS patch.
Switch controllers: I got the binbok controllers the same week I got the OLED (our first Switch) and have had no problems. Never used the stock controllers as they were just too small and too uncomfortable. The binboks have a very comfortable bulging shape. When playing docked I also attach them to a KINVOCA Joycon grip which is a wishbone-shaped thing that also works well.
A Switch 2 Zelda launch game should be an enhanced version of both BotW and TotK including any DLC for either, for $60.
I halfway feel like I should just play RDR2 now instead of waiting for a patch.
Nobody talking about Square Enix layoffs this week🤔
Think it's because they didn't give figures, just that they were going to lay off people.
Once we get more concrete information I’m sure people will. Right now there’s not much
its square’s western studios who barley do anything for the company other then localization and indie publishing
It's just one studio (Tokyo RPG Factory) they are laying off, not that big of a loss unlike their other layoff where they gave most of their western devs to Embracer (which were eventually killed off permanently).
I think that square going multi platform will definitely help with sales, the thing that will suffer is the development of certain games by not being able to focus on a single system. I say this because Kitase (producer of FF7 Rebirth) mentioned in an article that because they worked on a single system it allowed them to refine the game . I hope for the best , just hope FF7 pt 3 won’t be pushed back. It’s a shame, square has some amazing games.
It’s not like the Joy-Con lawsuit didn’t make Nintendo respond.
I got 3 different sets of Joy-Cons repaired from Nintendo for free due to their unlimited warranty policy as a result of the lawsuit.
My original Joycons developed drift and I wound up replacing the sticks with Hall effect sticks. It worked wonders.
I have bought 8 sets of joycons, all have ended up drifting. 2 pairs in the last year. Ive replaced 4 pairs with "stock" chinese sticks, I finally just started using the gullikit hall effect sticks. So far they havent drifted.
I replaced all my Joy-Con sticks with hall effect sticks and haven't had any more drift problems, and I recommend everyone do the same, but the fact that we the end users are forced to fix Nintendo's controllers is unacceptable
"Unacceptable" yet you still fixed it yourself.
@Jintenzo what's your point? It's a faulty design, remedied by a third party solution that e gotta shell out extra money. Why doesn't nintendo replace their sticks with hall effect ones?
@@eapleitez Because pride.
@@eapleitez I agree, but you can't say needing to fix it is unacceptable when you fixed it (aka accepted it). Also you don't need to shell out money for a third party solution, Nintendo offers joycon stick repairs for free.
If I was a third party developer I would want my game on every system that could possibly handle it. More exposure, more sales. In the case of final fantasy, square has to ask themselves if they would have came out better by putting it on multiple platforms compared to the money that they got from Sony for exclusivity.
One way to look at it, is that Jim Ryan was one hell of a CEO if you need 2 CEOs to replace him :)
Can't believe Red dead might finally be coming to PC after all these years. Literally been over a decade.
just hope it isn't like the GTA remasters

Breath of the Wild taught me that I love the lock and key structure of the first 26 years of the Zelda franchise. I enjoy finding a new piece of gear that opens up the world and creates new ways to engage with the world. I love seeing what the new gear will do in combat and how I can use it to solve puzzles.
I miss it so much!
Me too man this totally nonlinear zelda just isn't as fun once you realize how many mundane fetch quests and collectathons are present. It's weird to me of all companies nintendo would take cues from it was ubisoft and their open worlds people love to shit on their style of games and that's just what nintendo kinda imitates?
Zelda fanbase really have no clue what they want. Same story for every Zelda game. New game comes everyone hates it and want to old game. When the new game comes, the previous game they hated becomes best game ever and they hate new game and cycle continues. Y'all complained that linear Zelda formula is boring with Skyward Sword and they came up with botw. The reason why botw exist because fan base didn't want linear games when the games like Skyrim existed around those times.
@@hododod246 wow it's almost like a fanbase is composed of a lot of people with different thoughts and feelings so having an universally accepted opinion is impossible, who could've thought!
There’s room for both open world and Linear Zelda games. Those that are complaining are showing their narrow mindedness about open world games. If you don’t like the direction of Zelda then get lost l to PlayStation or Xbox or even worse PC gross 🤮 🤮
.... its like everyone ( Nintendo included) forgot about ALBWs style of progression
The important thing to note about the decomp software discussed here: it's closed-code, meaning things like Ship of Harkinian still have purpose, since they're open-code.
We like to forget and never mention that we had magnet based sticks around 15 years ago.
But we told the Corpos to stick it and that we want 150 year old Technology, because cheaper.
I switched to the Hori Split Pad Pro since all of my joy cons started drifting and it’s bigger so it feels better in my hands. I switched to a different controller to avoid drift.

Yeah, still got a few Joycons with drift floating around. Also have about a dozen others that don't have drift. Yet. Seems to be less frequent with the ones bought more recently. And the Pro controller still going strong since just after launch.
I think Jon has given up on the member comment of the day lol
Good. 2 comments seemed too much and stretched the video more than needed IMO.
Let's see if this comment makes it
I stopped using the joycons all together. Bought an 8bitdo wireless controller and havent looked back.
I think most people who had Joy-Con Drift have already done something about it, including swapping the actual sticks and taking them apart.
It’s not a waste of time to hold company’s accountable. It’s a service to all gamers everywhere. Which is far greater than individual reward.
Looks like those checks Sony was cutting for console exclusivity and delayed PC releases aren't as good as people thought. This is a good thing
That tool for N64 for is gonna get destroyed by Nintendo. Should never have announced that.
Square Enix had high expectations for FF while only releasing on one platform is mind boggling. Glad they're going multiplat
I can imagine Jim Ryan telling the board "We really need to bring someone else on...doing the gaming division, working with 3rd party studios and TV/Movie studios, all the peripherals, the PSVR...its all a bit much to expect one person to have the highest level of expertise in all these areas." Sony board: "No, Jim, you can do it; we just don't have the budget for another top tier executive." Jim decides its time to retire. Someone at the board after he leaves: "I have a great idea....why don't we hire TWO people. One can handle hardware development, and someone else can take over responsibilities for TV, movies, etc."
So Square Enix with Final Fantasy & Sega with Persona it seems like the whole exclusive thing they had with Sony to get their games first, a whole year etc is finally over and now their games will go everywhere is a good thing since now everyone will be able to play their games on the platform they choose, no longer stuck on one and having to buy another system just to play it or wait for it to come elsewhere. It seems exclusives will very soon just be a Nintendo thing with their first party games, where as on Xbox and PlayStation games will be well everywhere meaning P.C etc.
Persona doesn’t fit as they never had any exclusivity deal. Just old Japanese business habits taking a while to die off
I signed up for that CRT class action lawsuit. Took about a decade, but i got about $40.
A friend of a friend built a PS3 supercomputer cluster with like 30 consoles. That class action gave him a mere $20 per console, after many years. He lost a ton of money on that experiment.
Only lawyers make money in class action lawsuits.
Hall effect would be best, worked well for Dreamcast controllers, Sega saw the value
Square also had quite a few Switch/PC exclusives, like Octopath, Chocobo GP, Harvestella, etc., and maybe more. Square-Enix should definitely be multiplatform with its well-known legacy games. Sony or Nintendo could always commission a Stranger of Paradise-style game if they want an exclusive.
yeah, Square has its on everything but not you Xbox
Octopath 1, Switch first, then PC and Xbox. Playstation not you. Octopath 2, Xbox this time you out
Yeah but those exclusives cost nothing compared to big FF games, so I guess they were more safe
6:00 I have sent multiple Joy cons to Nintendo but it definitely helps having a Pro controller
PlayStation employee here…. We were all pushing for Nishino-San to take over! True gamer and passion for PlayStation! Also just a genuinely great person!
Hulst was a surprise but makes way too much sense - incredible mind and has already brought so much innovation to our titles!
We are in for an exciting era in gaming here! 🙌🙌
New joycons now have this insert inside them making them less likely to drift. This combined with joy-con firmware updates that take drift into account makes it less of an issue today. Only those with OG joycons will have noticeable problems (no insert). I mailed mine for free repair. No major issues since.
Typical Nintendo. They know they have A LOT of money and can potentially drag this court case FOREVER until the plaintiffs run out of money and the whole case is thrown out of the window.
Another reason I think these games arent selling much when exclusive (except for nintendo) is the entry costs, consoles were meant to be the cheaper gaming alternative to computers, now they cost the same in the long run with the system and subscription prices to keep online play, nintedo is cheaper than the other two and are selling better than the other two, coincidence? Also game offerings for sure helped the switch a ton, the quality was (for the most part) flawless but the other two have held back and sold a few of the IPs people loved, and for some games they were VERY below par so why bother buying an expensive system, which means less customers which means lower sales across the board for games like FF.
Yeah, cost is big deal. Nintendo released the Switch for $300 then two years later released the Switch Lite for $200. I'm sure that's part of the reason Switch sales have been going so well. Once upon a time, consoles would go down in price as the years went on, but that doesn't happen anymore.
You can buy PS5, Series S and Switch oled instead of a gaming pc that will run current high end games decently. And that gaming pc will start to struggle after 3-4 years. For high end PCs you need to put somewhere around 3k. I am hearing 5 to 8k to highest performing PCs. A game console is relevant like 6 to 8 years. Paid only is sucks(60 dollars per year is kinda expensive) but console gaming is still way more cheaper. And most of the subscription services are available in PC as well. It is not a console thing. I am quite sure even Sony will expand their subscription service to PC once they build up their player base.
@@hododod246 Consoles play at 1440p (or lower) for 60fps or 4k (mostly fake 4k upscaled from 1440p or lower) for 30fps, its not hard to hit those numbers and quality on a 1k (USD) pc, and a 1k pc will be viable for a lot longer than a few years given they too can upscale with more flexibility than console, plus upgrades in the long run are cheaper for PC than buying a new console every generation.
Ive built plenty of computers and guided people to the right parts for 1k (usd) because that price is the general max for many. Consoles after 5 years of subscriptions cost a little more than the upfront cost to said 1k pcs (unless you're using the series s but then again a cheaper PC performs the same so it'll match a cheaper pcs price too after years of subscriptions). Consoles have a great initial price but to keep one benefit of a pc you gotta pay a lot. Plus PCs offer more benefits so why spend the same money for a lesser product.
A decent video cards costs MORE than any two consoles combined, and that's just *one* component. Have you ever played (current) pc games on a min spec machine? It sucks as bad as you suck at math. I do have a gaming pc btw, and a PS5 and Quest 2/3.
My $1,400 pc is almost identical to my PS5 in terms of graphical fidelity for flat games, but PS5 kicks my pcs' ass when it comes to high end vr. (which is the main reason I bought it) I was tempted to get a Switch for Nintendo games, but there is no way I'm playing *anything* that barely runs games at 30fps. That's for dumb kids who don't know any better and dopey fanboys with Nintendo themed 👌plugs hidden under their beds.
@@G360LIVEfor real now it takes 5-6 years seemingly to get any good dent in price for consoles or pc hardware
I've never had much of a problem with joycon drift, but wearing out the soft plastic coating on my left joycon digital analog stick has been my problem but luckily was able to find replacements that are easy to replace
Pro controller suffers from Drift as well. They wanted me to pay $60 plus shipping, just to assess the problem. The moment I mentioned the joy con drift class action suits, they agreed to give a new controller... Refurbished, I presume... Seems like it's starting to drift again 2 years later.
Never experience stick drift on either a launch day Switch or the revision model.
Lucky man!
With development costs rising, which in part is the devs fault since no one's telling them to spend hundreds of millions to make games, being exclusive to PlayStation at this point just means slowly bleeding money until your company dies. They really should take notes from Nintendo, you don't necessarily need to have hyper realistic graphics and physics, the game just needs to be fun and people will buy it, and keep playing it long afterward.
I've only had drift issues on my first ever pair of Joycon. I got the system in June 2017 and one started drifting horribly in March 2018. I got them repaired in August 2019 after my second one started to have major issues (I mainly used my Pro Controller anyway).
I got a new pair in April 2021 after my originals started to go again and have never had any issues with the new ones, with them being my primary controller after my left analog stick on the Pro Controller broke (sunk in and can't click). My Tears of the Kingdom ones have been perfect since I got the OLED last year. I genuinely think the original issue with them has been fixed.
In the first 3-4 years of the switch, I had 3 pairs of joycon and every single one had drift. I’ve had the OLED switch for abt a year now and those joycon haven’t shown any issues yet.
From what I gathered, HD titles for Square are just their console games, and SD are "Smart Device" games. So what they're actually saying here is that they want to bring their previously mobile only games to pc as well in the future. Not vice versa.
I assume people are just tired of fighting a losing battle with the joy con drift.
At some point after getting my joy cons, "repaired," and them still having drift, I just gave up on the idea of them being fixed. I have accepted that my joy cons will always have drift. Now, I try to use the pro controller instead.
I think that's the first time I've seen anyone mention Rocket the robot. It wasn't a great game but a really underrated gem of the N64
i did send my joy cons in two times each for repair. after the second time for each one they work until now, so i guess they did build in hall effect ones or at least ones with better quality.
I have never had drift, BUT every Joy Con i owned still had sticky keys that not even their replacement program could fix
Doesn't Gulikit offer a HALL sensor thumbstick upgrade kit for the Joycons, heard this was easier than sending to Nintendo? (Plus, they make no promises to return the exact same special edition joycons...)
I've only had my original joy cons experience drift a few years into the launch but we were able to fix them from Nintendo's repair but after that we kept using the Pro Controller *MUCH* more frequently and that thing is a beast, it retains a charge even after weeks of no use
I genuinely don't mind a 10-15 dollar upgrade for a game that gives you the new version release alongside a new copy that has the full remaster/remake with all DLC included for full price. But don't force people to buy the new version to play the remaster.
When Nintendo announced they would fix the joy-cons I contacted them, got an email with the mail label packed up my joy-cons (drift and no drift) and sent them out. I got all of them back within 5 days and all worked no issue after that.
I got more joy-cons (no drift) and just to be sure I sent them in and had them addressed looked over for good measure and again I had them back in under a week.
Important note, the first batch of joy-cons that I sent to Nintendo, they were all past warranty. I wasn’t charged for anything.
What country are you in? i feel it's harder to do in certain ones, although i also had this with 1 joy-con, wasn't charged anything but it did take like 3 weeks here in the netherlands.

That whole process was ridiculous and no part was the purchasers fault my dude. The only reason Nintendo got away with it is because there was no “proof” they did it on purpose
Unless Ubisoft is selling games again instead of "leasing" them, it wont matter how good the new AC might be.
I got my switch day-one and have three pairs in total (og pair, a 4-ish year old pair, and a 2-ish year old pair). All of them have horrible drift, and my newest pair also has bad button lag and keeps turning off recently. I've been telling myself to send them in to get fixed but I keep forgetting--I really should just invest in a pro controller 😭
We've had 4 pairs of joycons between my partner and I. Had to replace the sticks (due to drift) twice on our frequently used pair of joycons. The last time I changed them, we changed to the hall effect sticks as its just a pain to deal with the replacing parts on the joycons
Nintendo replaced my left joycon for free because of drift.
I had to manually fix two of the original joycons for my kid's switch with the $10 repair kit from amazon and youtube instructions. I have not had that problem, though, with the OLED. If I had to replace them, I would go with a controller with Hall effect joycon sticks. Also, my take away from the memos from Square is that they realized that (a) the focus of their game development should be to make "fun" games and (b) that they really do need to be a third party developer and bring games to other platforms. Ok.

I want joy-con with the same 4-button d-pad and circle pads for the future, my 3DS circle pad never drifted.
Idk who was yapping to me on here saying that sqaure had to be exclusive 😂 you sony fan boys, never cease to amaze me
It’d be cool if the official Switch 2 Joy-Cons used Hall Effect Joysticks. They probably wont, but it’d be cool if they did.
My first pair of joycons which came with the switch had drift. I clean them every few months electrical contact cleaner and they still work fine. I bought another pair 2 years after getting the switch which haven’t had any issue. Maybe they did internally tweak and fix it enough for it to be a less of an issue
I replaced the sticks in my joycons with magnetic sticks made by gulikit, no drift issues since. The controller I use with my switch is the 8bitdo pro 2 which has magnetic sticks, and no issues there either.
If you think Nintendo manages 4K/60 on their next device, I have a Baltimore bridge to sell you…
I don’t quite get the whole joy con drift thing. because I have had a switch for 5 years now and have only ever had two pairs of joy cons and neither of them have ever drifted.
I've had 4 switches since 2019, started with the switch lite, then the redbox switch, then the white switch oled, now I have the mario red oled and have never experienced joycon drift
I have 6 joycons that were all purchased about a year ago, and have been used in rotation for (a lot of) singleplayer, as well as weekly local multiplayer sessions. None of them have any stick drift (yet), but if they ever do, I'll replace them myself with hall effect sticks.
It's NOT an excuse for Nintendo, but I bought into the system already knowing about the stick drift issues, I'm pretty much at peace with that.
The good thing about the lawsuit for Joy-Con drift is that it seemingly pushed Nintendo to extent their warranty on controller repairs. As someone's who's been through at least 3 sets of Joy-Con I personally found it easier to just fix them myself watching Jon's video which also gave me the opportunity to install D-pads but I'm still very hopeful that Switch 2 will have much improved controllers AND a D-pad at launch even if the controllers still split.
Glover is the n64 game that actually have a pc version from the start, especially when it has the n64 graphics and one music from n64; the rest of the music were pre-n64.
I went ahead and replaced all my drifting Joy-Cons when Nintendo offered the free replacements. I had eight sets of Joy-Cons, and I refused to buy new ones. Instead, I let Nintendo fix them for free. I must admit they did a great job because I haven't had any Joy-Con drift after the repairs.
All the lawyers do get paid a lot of money for the class action lawsuits. They do most of the work which makes a lot of sense but at the same time it's more or less about the principal. If these companies openly screw over the consumer, whether the consumer gets five bucks or 50 bucks, it's about sending a message and making the company pay for their mistake.
A random thought that I have not heard anyone suggest in regard to extra buttons on the new controllers.
In addition to another face button akin to the 'Home' button, there are reportedly more trigger buttons "Under" the existing ones.
Rsther than ZL2 and ZR2 ... could they be the return of the Gamecube style Analog with second 'clicks' at full depression? A button "under" the triggers?
I hope so. The Gamecube triggers were the Best, IMHO.
Legitimately I won't even play my Switch in handheld mode anymore. All 4 joycons I have, drift. Pro controller only for me
I've been playing the Nintendo Switch since 2019, and I only experienced joycon Drift only 1 time, and it was on the Nintendo Switch Lite that I bought from my local Walmart, this happened back in December 2022. I decided to switch to buying all systems from my local gamestop, and I've haven't had any problems since then.
Hopefully Square will drop the Epic exclusivity too. It was bad enough when FF7 Remake had a 6 month exclusivity period, but the Kingdom Hearts games are _still_ on Epic for some reason. I'm sure Epic gave them a big fat check up front, but Square would make way more in the long run if they simply put their games on Steam to begin with.
Someones needs to start a petition for an Adventure of Link remaster. Metroidvania and 2D pixelart style.
If the gaming industry has taught me anything over the last decade ; it's don't hold my breath and wait for the final product to come out before getting excited. I'm hoping the switch 2 has backwards compatibility and that Square expands more of their games to other platforms; but those are just hopes...
Not sure if hall effect sticks is that much more expensive to produce, another option would be to use something like normal sticks like the Rog Ally do.
Hey Spawn Wave! I love the content and news updates! You should do an update on BigMode if you haven’t already for their new game. 😊
Tri-screwdriver, 1.5$ to aliexpress, 15 minutes of your time, and the drift is fixed!
......for now.
Superman 64 is a game that should never see the light of the day again
I bet they probably had to re-code RDR1 for pc. Basically, the game BARELY ran on xbox 360 and porting that existing code to pc would be a buggy nightmare.
Similar reason to Valve releasing Left 4 Dead 2 so shortly after part 1. The code for L4D was not able to handle mod support on pc. So they re-made the entire L4D inside L4D2, which has mod support.
I have an original switch and joycon controllers and have replaced the analogue sticks 3 times. Recently changed for hall effect analogue sticks and so far so good, no sign of drift.
I'm pretty sure SD title to Square means Smart Device. I.E., Games primarily aimed at phones, which is a big deal in Asia and why it is going to be one of their 2 main pillars. That's why it goes out of the way to say they may port some from phone to PC.
This June we'll be holding a Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Switch 1 software lineup for the second half of 2024, but please note that there won't be any mention of the Nintendo Switch 1 successor during
I have not experienced the horrible drift yet despite having my switch since year 1...
Drift is still definitely a problem. I had to replace a joycon in the last year.
I looked into the filings of one of the joycon drift lawsuits. Looks like the court required the case to be decided in arbitration, rather than in court. Last December, the parties reported that they were happy with how arbitration was progressing. In all likelihood, Nintendo paid some amount of settlement to the named plaintiffs, which wouldn’t need to be disclosed. There was never a motion for class certification so it doesn’t really count as a class action. Since no class was certified, no settlement needs to be paid to anyone not participating in the lawsuit. All we see is the parties agreeing to dismiss the case, which never happens unless they settle or something went seriously wrong with the plaintiffs’ case.
I saw a comment earlier today about how "Sony is the apple product of the gaming space." and I think for a lot of gamers, that magic power sony's name used to carry has worn off or is starting to wear off. They way Sony chooses to create their OS, interface, etc always feels so behind. Like we're buying the most expensive product for name alone and not for any kind of unique or cool features. And with how bad ps5 launched and poor availability it's eh. I feel like ps5 is probably the companies "wii u" equivalent.
I'd really like to see sony learn from its failures vs doing what it always does with ps6. And one of the biggest complaints about its consoles is the idiotic "you need double to QUADRUPLE the disc space to install 1 game." Owning a ps5 is nightmare if you want to play more than like 3 games.
Meanwhile my 3ds held 70 games and could install them at 2% plugged in.
My switch holds around 30-40 games and can run updates at 2% plugged in or not.
Neither of which ever expect me to have more space available than whats actually required.
Every day xbox looks better and better as the place to do most my gaming when I want something other than nintendo IP.
As someone who grew out of Assassin's Creed and always wanted the series go to Japan, this feels too little too late as I already got my wish fulfilled by Ghost of Tsushima and I honestly don't see modern Assassin's Creed topping it
I own four pairs of joy cons and after years of using them extensively none have ever gotten drift or any issues at all
I would like a PC port of Majora's mask.
Why wasn't there a PC port of Red Dead earlier? Is it because Rock Star messed up and lost the source code or something? Nowadays you could probably reverse engineer a game and make a source code out of it.
We're still talking about Joy Con Drift?
16:30 FINALLY!
"I think the new AC gonna be like Ghost of Tsushima because is setting in Japan", assasins gonna be ninjas, not samurais...
The reason you haven't heard as much about JoyCon drift is because Nintendo has just accepted any joycon for free repair in my experience. Just file an issue, send in your joycon, and you will get a return addressing the issue. I've done it at least half a dozen times now.
