#Nintendo #Sony #PS5 - Hry
I would be interested to see what kind of handheld Sony would decide not to support next.
Pfft lol 😆
@@okamibredren9524 I imagine this would be different. Not separate games that need to be developed for it, but the same games on PS4/PS5 would play natively on the device. No extra support would be needed.
@@lotsathedetoxexactly. Commenter is just being a troll.
Funny enough is that the portal is more successful than people thought. It's even outselling the Xbox S and X in some places. At least in Europe. So the success of the Portal might be the reason why they going full in on the handheld market again.
@@Final_Dawn honestly yeah, as long as it plays fifa it’s going to sell out in Europe.
Nintendo needs to clean up the eShop, a certain “developer” is just rereleasing their games almost weekly usually at 80-90% off. That’s why there are always at least 1000 games on discount. No way to navigate the listing as the eShop is broken.
Plus it loads slow af. It's like Nintendo doesn't want our money or something...
@@SquiLLs the true Next Gen from Nintendo would be a quick and snappy EShop. One can only hope they will indeed implement it in Switch 2.
I stick almost exclusively to dekudeals now. Have not browsed the offers on eShop for a long time.
I wonder if it starts with an N xD
@@hahahafunniness I was referring to Red Deer Games, but there are others too. Nintendo really didn’t think when they opened the flood gates to the eShop, probably lost a lot of money because people can’t find anything.
I used to really want another Sony handheld but with all that new handheld on the market I just don't care anymore. I can't believe that they thought nobody wanted handhelds
When the PS Vita sold as badly as it did, of course they would.
Can you blame them. The PSP sold over 80 million and Vita around 16 million so i'm sure they saw the drop in the install base and thought gamers weren't interested in handheld anymore as much as they were with the PSP. !6 is still okay but when you compare it to the PSP it does look pretty bad
@@alpha-bossIt's literally their own fault that the Vita only sold 16 million.
@linkvagar2336 I guess so, but even so, it could have done way better than 16 million. To go down from 80 to 16 that's a lot
Not at all interested in another Sony handheld.
The law of diminishing returns has made all this talk about tech specs for any system next to meaningless, and it’s starting to bite Sony & Microsoft in the butt. A lot of us have repeatedly said that games matter far more than specs. The Switch has more than proven this fact, and its successor could do so again.
Exactly gameplay is way more important than specks Asda switch has proven. Also Nintendo seems to understand that physical media is very important and that both physical and digital media can exist together for me. Nintendo is the only one that seems to understand what gamers really want and what is truly important to real gamers.
I agree even though the switch has its own share of the issue because 40% of its games are rereleases of older games
Very true. Everyone online always talks so much about resolution and frame rate. I'm always like is the game fun? Lol. I can play at 1080p 30fps all day if it's fun. Who cares if you're playing something at 4k 120fps if the game blows.
Gameplay is king, next was graphics, last is price. Nintendo Switch has a lot of games that targets a lot of audience, everyone as something to look forward in switch.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 Nintendo the company who made a digital game a limited release.... 🤣
IF Sony is going back to some form of Handheld system, they better make sure to actually support it for longer than 3 years, since they killed the Japan Studio that kept the Vita alive. Also, they better NOT use proprietary memory cards again, those things were way too expensive.
I very highly doubt there would be physical memory cards. This thing would require a PSN account so there would be cloud saves.
@@blerdrotic Cloud Saves require an active Playstation plus subscription, which I doubt people would get just for a handheld to work. Not having a regular memory card for storage absolutely fucked the Vita over cuz those things were way too expensive. IF this theoretical handheld were to launch without options for memory cards, it would fail harder than the Vita did.
@@nerobiblios4086 Then they shouldn’t buy this theoretical handheld. This would require an active PSN account. That is just a fact that people would just have to get over with, or not buy it. Sony most likely isn’t going to put money into physical media when they already have a digital storefront. So why should they support physical memory cards just to appease a certain segment of the consumer base?
@@blerdroticThat's stupid. How are you going to play your games if there's no Internet connection? Let's say it works with cellular network (like Vita), even then, it wouldn't work because cellular network has limited coverage and unreliable on areas with little to no cellular service.
@@Vyz3r Could say all the same stuff about the Steam Deck.
As a Russian guy it cracks me up seeing you guys discussing Anton Logvniov’s post on Telegram as something of importance, as we Russian gamers see Anton as a meme material only.
Although, surprisingly enough, his insides do often end up to be true, but it’s his attitude that people hate so much.
I love your profile pic btw lol.

Anton Logvniov vs Empress. Who wins in shit posting?
He may be a clown but if his sources check out, who cares?
@@jessekoepp3928 why, thank you. An actual samurai from the feudal Japan, by the way.
While nobody cares about Redfall, the fact it is getting an offline mode is a big win for game preservation. I hope Fallout 76 gets the same treatment someday.
17:25 This doesn't mean that 3% of people that play COD do it on phones, it means that from the people watching Spawn Wave only 3% plays COD on phones, let's be honest, most people here are probably Hard Core gamers, i believe if the sample was more diverse these numbers would have been different.
Looking forward to seeing what the "Homebrew Scene" does with the next Sony handheld.
I give it 2 years, tops.
I want Sony to make a new hand held so bad. I recently pulled out my old vita and have been using it as my primary system for the past few weeks and I'm always blown away as to how it was a failure. It was so ahead of its time with an impressive line up of games and hacking it makes it one of the best handheld out there these days. A new PlayStation handheld I think would kill now with the huge influx of handheld systems and I trust Sony could make something impressively powerful today
If Sony is doing another handheld, expect MH fans to go crazy 😂.
Already am 😅
Seeing as Rise dropped on all consoles and the success it had I don't think the next portable Sony system will matter to capcom. Nintendo has been where the games have gone since gen 3 even the spin offs, only reason World is different is cuz there was no way the switch could properly run it. But with the Switch 2 if it can run Wilds (seems to be that way based on leaks) I think it would be even less likely the next psp will matter at all to mh.
@@infinitezion2029 Gonna file this under opinion.
This economy is not made for the average person to buy a 500+ system which is why the switch does so well…it’s affordable and has games not only for children and families but also adults. PlayStation needs lower the costs because it’s hurting their wallets and everyone else’s
The PS5 isn’t that expensive. And PlayStation does great. Nintendo created a feeling with their brand, games people wait for, and a handheld experience people love. I think it’s a lot more than just a cheaper console. Not saying it doesn’t matter though. But as gamers we don’t want cheaper hardware. We want more capable hardware even if you have to save up a little more.
Nintendo switch games is alot expensive than ps/Xbox/pc
I wouldnt mind if we got a handheld instead of mid gen refresh for the consoles
I still think it's gross that instead of making more and better games, they'd rather chase whale money with a "pro" console that's totally unnecessary. The only reason we ever had one anyways was because they *both* launched their consoles underpowered, and that's not even the case this gen.
@@jessekoepp3928Hardware and software are two different teams.
I tried game pass and realized it was a waist of money for me . I usually find a handful of games a year to focus on and it makes more sense for me to just purchase the games I want . Plus I prefer to buy physical as I don’t trust digital distribution anymore
Game pass usually gives u a discount to buy the game before it gets taken off game pass 🤷🏽♂️
Same. I like owning my games, thanks. Gamepass costs a lot of money in the long run with the added disadvantage that you don't get to keep your games.
You're smart.
@@Woahdaystill only digital
@@RhythmGrizz eventually all physical media and consoles with disc drives will be no more and it will all go digital so what’s the use in tryna own a property that has not been ours since digital media started
Yeah that job posting in japan seems more like developing plans starting for the PS6.
PS Job listing could be about PS3 backward compatibility, since the PS3 ran on Cell Broadband Engine Architecture instead of x86 (which most things run on today).
I have never cared for call of duty at all, if they raise the price for gamepass because of this, it's bye bye gamepass for me. I sell my xbox and will start building a pc.
I want the Sony handheld, the Xbox/Microsoft handheld, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Deluxe XXL 🎉
Fed comment
I don't trust Sony.
Nintendo has some trust available, but not much.
I'm going all in on PC next gen, unless Nintendo really comes out with a great product.
@@Mac_Omegaly There are really shady stuff on PC too (more so than consoles) but yeah let's just let it slide.
@@VOANlol like what? On pc I can play pretty much anything
I would love a "streaming only" gamepads tier
They would probably piss off fewer people with a VIP "Day One" tier that gets new releases for a couple months or so before they go into rotation on the normal tier (which would also give the game a second wind while advertising the standard service). Permanently locking games behind different tiers would be messy and confusing for customers, especially if the games they pick for higher tiers seem arbitrary or random.
Good afternoon from London, UK here! The fact that Sony is returning back to the handheld market is kind of strange and interesting at the same time! I'll believe it when I see what this new Sony handheld looks like!
Speculation
@@mikeuk666 Has to be one from Sony!
any idea if there will be a collector's edition for Sparking Zero? i mean there have been since Battle of Z
A couple of problems if sony decides to go handheld.
Sony's pricing is not going to be competitive with the market filled with a lot of handheld pc’s, look at the vr2 pricing.
If sony not willing to develop original games for it, then what's the point.
If Rpcs3 team does a ps4 emu, then sony has no chance of getting a handheld out of the ground for sure.
Since the SteamDeck launched, I've been telling friends that a portable PS4 is completely viable since the SD and certainly the Asus Ally have much better specs than what the base PS4 can offer.
That coupled with whatever magic sauce Sony's cooking up with their own temporal upscaling that leaked a few months back(This might just be for new games going forward). I say, yeah, PSP2 or whatever it'll be called is totally doable.
Just don't skimp on the battery life Sony, everyone will hate that.
Subscription game services are the end on physical gaming.
@lofl6968Spot on. These !diots are pretending digital games existed only yesterday.
Steam released their first digital game in 2004 (Half Life 2). Digital is NOT a new concept.
@lofl6968he’s talking about subscription services though, not a digital store. And probably means end physical on console.
Explain limited run selling physical pc games then.
@@surogunersales numbers vs digital?
@lofl6968 I never said they were disks.
I don’t believe anything until Sony themselves says rumors I don’t believe
I don't trust anything Sony says, either.
It's likely it will happen but not what we thought it would be.
@@grossindecency With the amount of times theyve lied? Id sooner trust EA to make a decent game.
WANT PSP PRO 4K OLED THAT PLAYS ALL GAMES FOR PS5, PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, PS VITA PSP & ALL DLC. 240 HZ, 240 FRAMES/SECOND! & PLAYS SMALL SIZE DISC(WITH BIG STORAGE), PLAYS CARTRIDGE, HDMI OUT, 24 HOUR BATTERY LIFE (AT FULL PERFORMANCE & QUALITY)!
Bear in mind that when developers refer to chip 'architecture' they may not always be referring to differences in machine language architecture. See MVG's video on potenial Switch 2 backwards compatibility hurdles despite both being on ARM.
With the gamepass tier change and Microsoft wanting to make more money I think they should have a "preview/early access" tier where people can pay extra to get beta or early access to a game. Then on the backed all they have to do is take their original release dates and turn those into the early access release date. Then they can make the new actual release date a week or 2 later. Basically its a way to make the existing tier no longer get games on day one but done in a way that doesn't make people feel like they are loosing day one access.
I like the change in telling us the price of the deals now very informative and well presented spawn wave the best great news today by the way!
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony intentionally excluded PS Plus game streaming from the Portal so they could make it a selling point for the new handheld. A handheld that can run PS4-era games natively and can stream PS5 games from the cloud would actually make for an impressive library.
The ultimate true Sony move.
Steam Deck having Helldivers 2 natively but a Sony First Party Handheld not is crazy hilarious
Also, Nick Kart Racers 3 is 9$ with all dlc. But i noticed they been releasing every 2 years and its anout that time during this fall
I've got 🍿 and I'm sitting back to see what Sony does with the Handheld.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THE PRICES JON!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!
Deposits on the Ayaneo Pocket DMG start at $225. It will end up being over $400
If sony does put out a new handheld how many hours of support do you think they will give it before they pull the plug my guess is 2
Likely 5-7 years. That's at least longer than the Dreamcast.
I’m actually quite happy that the Redfall update is getting released after all. I still think the game had a lot of potential. And now that there’s offline singleplayer, maybe modders can clean it up a bit more. Fingers crossed.
With regards to the Aya Pocket DMG, I would love to see an upgraded version that can run a AAA game. But now thinking about it, why not just buy the Steam Deck?
For anyone interested aye neo are also making a GBA micro as well. And AYN just announced the Odin 2 mini which looks like a tribute to the ps vita.
Whew that new GameBoy handheld is a beauty. I might have to pick that one up.
Yeah, I'm not interested in a Sony handheld now. The Vita was criminally under-supported and things only got worse with PSVR (and worse still with PSVR2). I'm not paying the Sony premium to own a handheld with like four exclusives on it.
What about that new Snapdragon Elite... I heard it is really good for battery use. Extended use. Also lower temps.
A sony handheld would be interesting. The portal was originally supposed be it's own dedicated device that also did remote play but they scrapped it when they realized how much extra R&D would have to go into it after the commercial success of all the recent handheld that have released like ROG, Steam, and Lenovo's systems. They have a catalog, but being last gen focused would make this a bit too niche too pull much profit unless it had its own pipeline like PS4 games and then mobile games developed alongside those ports.
Nah it was going to be just a streaming device. Sony's gaming division is competing against Lenovo and Logitech, the smaller guys cause they know they can't risk getting into the dedicated handheld market. They already lose too much on consoles and VR, to lose another profit on handhelds will kill them for sure.
From games to hardware..The loudest people scream they want something. The company does it. Same people don't support it / buy it.
Company stops doing it.
Same people go online laugh or complain that it flopped.
People who say this have no taste or discernment. They are happy to play any old tat and have more time than money. Probably work so low end job part time.
I can’t wait to see the digital foundry Ghosts of Tsushima review.
I love my portal, but I have extremely fast and stable wifi. I also only use it around the house. I'd love a dedicated handheld from Sony
I will always tell people to try out Digimon Cyber Sleuth and Hackers Memory. Very good games for on the go gaming.
Its like pokemon in spirit but in combat and design, theyre completely different.
if there is a new playstation handheld i hope the screen is as big as the Portal's screen. i wouldn't even mind if they designed it to look similar to the Portal.
A good PC port of a good game will inevitably lead to a lot of positive word of mouth, the best kind of marketing. So many companies could learn from Sony letting Nixxes do such high quality work.
Im definitely going to grt Ghost of Tsushima PC later this year. The Black Friday sale is the most likely target. It shoupd be a good 50% at that point.
Regardless of when I get it, though, I will be playing it *after* I get Assassin's Creed Shadows and play through that.
This is going to be a damn good gaming year for me. 😏
Amd has a APU coming out with code name as Shockwave that is ARM based.
The new AYA Neo Pocket DMG seems perfect for playing enhanced Dreamcast and PSP games, not so much for other consoles that require dual analog sticks. It also seems to me at times that it's just a slight improvement/cheap knock-off of the Analogue Pocket. Then again, that's just my impression and I really want to see it being sold for a fair price.
I am really a casual Game Pass user so I think Game Pass console should do it. It does not seem like they would touch that but you never know. It is $10.99 as well.
Hell I’d love it if we could buy some old psp games on its digital store.
I’m noticing many elements of modern and past Assassin’s Creed games in Ghost of Tsushima and it feels great.
The story, characters, setting, art-style and combat make the difference, Ubisoft should take notes.
does ni no kuni 2 still run poorly on switch or was it patched since the launch? i recall many reviews mentioning it wasn't running well at all in the overworld, and that the battles also dropped lots of frames frequently. At times i think i even saw a reviews that said it could drop below 20fps at times.
Since Redfall is getting it's final release to make it playable offline, I'll finally be buying the game, on a sale.
Any time someone mentions a new Sony handheld I have to say it. I would love to see them revisit the Xperia Play. I feel like a Smartphone handheld hybrid with it's own library and native PS4/5 Streaming would be excellent.
Will definitely subscribe to GAMEPASS once they start dropping these COD games there
Just have a "Activision Tier" for $29.99 - and it comes with ALL COD games, WoW Subscription, OW Season Pass, Diablo IV Season Pass.
Baten Kaitos is a great game; definitely pick that up at 30
Nixxes is my favorite PlayStation studio, they are killing it out here !!!
There's hoping for that gravity rush 2 port
The weirdest part about this is how so many people seem to have accepted "game passes" and season passes as anything other than a compeltely unacceptable rip off.....
I do not want an alternative for a game pass. I want game passes to go away.
I can’t imagine that adverts interspersed into games would make any sense for the vast majority of consoles gamers. Games just don’t have ‘scenes’ in the same way as TV/films do. Sure some people will sign up but can’t see the numbers being of any significance.
If Aya Neo and other handhelds had cartridge readers, I would be more likely to buy them. RetroN is the ONLY company I've seen actually do it, and I've bought them a couple of times. No, they're not the best, but they get the job done. At least my cartridges won't be sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
I have a ps5 if I want to play ps4 games I’ll play on that .
I think it would be cool but the price has to be right
I would never pay more than $250 for any handheld. I don't care how good it is.
Then you will never find a good handheld cause at that price you won't get anything passed 480p 30fps.
You do realize that Amd has a Arm license and been working on some architecture .
Sony releasing a handheld is a massive mistake... Dev's will have to divide time between another platform/spec and they are already struggling to make games as it is. Nintendo learned well that consolidating systems means dev's can focus and make more/better games. Sony reminds me of SEGA in the 90's when they thought the way out of their troubles was more new hardware... between the portal, PS5, PS5 pro and a handheld all while planning PS6 i dont think it will end well.
Thank you for uploading everyday reliable gaming news!! Coffee breakfast and newswave before work!!! Happy Monday y'all!!
Seeing Nintendo Switch being the next biggest handheld gaming system, and Steam and others jumping in on the handheld market, not suprising Sony is thinking the same, as MS also rumored to join in on the handheld market. Nobody expected Nintendo to explode in popularity with the Switch and seems that hendheld console gaming may be the new trend going forward.
Microsoft will never make handheld, they are purely a software maker so to make handheld will put pressure on their gaming divisions.
I like Redfall lol. I’m glad the patch is coming. ❤
I don't really want a "PS Deck." Not with big screen graphics improving while handhelds still have their limitations for being small in the first place
I REALLY love the original PSP, I still play mine almost 20 years later......I don't think Sony can top a banger like that again, but if they do, that would be awesome...
Imagine if there was a Gameboy-Style handheld with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme ?
I have serious doubts about a new Sony handheld.
The Switch struck gold for two reasons:
1. It is now Nintendo's only platform
2. It is a hybrid so many people do think of it as another proper TV console
Also with the Switch 2 coming out, it might just be another repeat of the 3DS vs Vita again. With the Switch 2 and devices like the Steam Deck that can already play Sony games that have been published to Steam, will there be much room for something like this??
A new Sony handheld will probably only be marginally more powerful than the Switch 2 if the rumors are true for the Switch 2 specs, and if it is not a hybrid then the Switch 2 will also look infinitely more attractive to any buyer.
For GoT imagine if was in all countries! I just pirated it because I want to check out the wide-screen but I played GoT on ps4 and ps5, a totally awesome game!
There is no PS handheld coming, guys. Sorry.
Ghost of Tsushima is a single player game. The multiplayer aspect was DLC. It was not there at launch
The problem with the VITA was the missing the analog triggers and L3 and R3. If you want a handheld to work, Call of Duty needs to run on it and all the buttons must be there, just like a normal controller.
The Ayaneo will probably cost between $400 and $500
12:13 BRO, SHHHH. Don’t fuel them.
You haven’t been able to pause in single player on redfall? lol I’m confused I haven’t played my Xbox in a while 😂
I went down to gamepass console and realize it didn’t include online play… I let it expire and havnt restarted it since.
Sony needs to make the new handheld play ps5 and all previous versions like a steam deck can play almost any game, Sony needs this for their handheld. That way we can play all triple a games 60fps or more and not worry about devs making games on a portable underpowered handheld like all their others. This will work if they do it this way. Imagine playing spider man 2 handheld last os us 2 etc…
I don't really see a need for a new handheld given Sony's recent track record of putting out hardware with no real support. If they are going to make more titles available for PC gamers, then it is hard to see more than something marketed to a Sony-only niche market.
To me, there's no question that Sony is aiming to compete with the Switch family directly. The more you think about it, the more it makes sense.
Why choose between the home console and handheld markets when you can simply do both at the same time? That was Nintendo's stroke of genius. I think we can all agree that graphical fidelity has mostly plateaued. Most people, including seasoned gamers, can't tell the difference between a typical PS4 and PS5 game. Why restrict yourself to the home console market if high end graphics no longer brings in the benefits that they once did? No one cares anymore. People care more about stability and framerate these days.
The only question is whether or not this new handheld/console hybrid will actually continue the Playstation main numbered line (aka PS6) or a new name entirely.
So I guess no one cares now about the PSN requirement for the multiplayer elements of Ghost of Tsushima...
I mean, it feels like just yesterday everyone was up in arms, and now it's not even being talked about.
What I don’t understand is how can they fit games on a switch cart but not be able to fit ps4 games onto a cartridge as well
Because this most likely be a digital only console.
Digimon cyber sleuth for 10 is a steal and you get the sequel with it as well so two games for one. Even if your not a digmon fan its a great monster raising rpg with persona like vibes
If Game Pass pricing increases because of Call of Duty, I am not renewing my Game Pass when it expires.
That being said mine expires around December 2026 sometime lol.
Because I got 4 years for like $5/mo last year.
I love my Nintendo Switch for its portability. But if Sony were to release yet another handheld I'll get it. Why? Simple. Trophies. Having a permanent record of accomplishments for playing a game is a big selling point IMO. Why hasn't Nintendo implemented such a system? Call them medals or ribbons or rosettes or something. I wish they would do this with the Switch 2.
After the way Sony handled the vita, I will never trust them with my money on a handheld ever again. Outside of TV pc consoles, don't ignores all of it's tech... Vita... Psvr... Eyetoy... Move... Etc etc
All these digital stores need to have stronger anti-shovelware rules and securities. There needs to be greater quality minimums. We can and should still have anything from games made by dozens of studios to a game made by 1 person, but the shovelware has got to stop.
A good game in sale is Cris Tales, for $3,99. 90% off is a steal.
If they make a Vita 2 I hope to God it’s backwards compatible. I have a small box of vita games I was about to trade in. Replacing my vita didn’t work out as this stuff seems to have a shelf life. I would love a newer version to preserve my games and use in my travels.
Hasn't Amd a ARM/x86 hybrid in development?
Same SKU between PS and PC isn't easy. It's easier with XPA.
I still wonder if the intention with these PlayStation to PC is to also port over games to PS5 if there's no version of it like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War (2018), and now the Kingdom Hearts series.
I'm excited for Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO. An October 2024 release would be expected.
An successor to the PS Vita would be interesting. If they make it a PS4 but is digital only and handheld would be kind of a let down. I hope it is a dedicated handheld console. I think they would want to try and make consumers forget about PS Portal.
Game Pass getting a price increase across the board wouldn't be a surprise if they eventually stop making hardware and stick with GamePass only.
Maybe they'll have a free tier for just only online gaming and then increase the price for the paid tiers.
Sony should just make a steam deck clone and release it for a reasonable price and give it the ability to remote play and have it run games from original PlayStation to PlayStation 4. Don't get me wrong the portal has its place and it's at home and not on vacation
2:51 I think it's time for me to buy the game if it's going to have an offline mode
