They're too busy collecting money making fun games for kids. There's a reason why they survived this long and continue to thrive in such a competitive market. Personally I wholeheartedly support their decision to protect their IP anyway they deem necessary. However, their lack of interests in preserving their games is a different story. Either way they remain on top for a reason, and it's because they protect their brand tooth and nail, and they have every right to do so and have remained successful as a company because of it.

The Arkham trilogy that released on last generation had so much more to the world and so much more detail in it than the new suicide squad. When comparing the two I get the feeling triple A titles are getting worse graphically and getting worse in detail as well. It is sad to see and makes me wonder how were games with much less dev time have so much more detail? I think it boils down to passion, shareholders have too much say, and some laziness as well.

Someone once said Nintendo doesn't mind fan made games as long as they aren't trying replicate actual Nintendo games. Now that they are becoming a full multimedia company, anything with their characters could be considered a replication of something they actually make or intend to make. I think because of this the scope of what they are trying to get taken down is going to increase over time.
I don’t think Nintendo has a legal claim to DMCA strike Gary’s mod, it’s not like it’s bundled with the software it’s something that players are using on their own. Would they be able to similarly strike people with Nintendo wallpapers? It’s the same exact thing.

Honestly, as a brand loyal customer of 25+ years, I’m just over Nintendo now. I’ve already decided the Switch was my last console because the company just continues to dig its own grave and stray away from what made the company attractive in the first place: good games and good service.
Can you Imagine if Rock Steady had released a new Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern Single player game like their Batman games instead of SQKTJL? They would have made a TON OF MORE MONEY!

Looking into copyright laws and regulations in the USA at least it appears the complaint is only valid if it's done within three years of the knowledge of the copyright violations existence.
So if Nintendo can prove they only recently learned this was happening in Garrys Mod within the last three years it's legal for them to do this.
Otherwise if there is proof Nintendo has been aware of this happening over the 15 years it's not reasonable for steam to follow this.

Live service games need to be f2p if they want to make traction with their audience. There is so many successful f2p games that are free that spending $60-$100 up front for something that will be cancelled and unplayable is a risk to the consumer. Everyone just waits to see if it's good and people are tired of being guinea pigs.
Suicide Squad has only been out 2 or 3 months. Not even 6.
They want to do stream Blizzcon direct because, "you all have phones".
Guess Nintendo got tired us pointing that Gary's Mod and Valve's source engine beat them to the punch with TOTK's ultrahand mechanics and did it better nearly 2 decades before them.
Never played a Fallout before. Finished watching season 1 and then downloaded and started playing Fallout 4 from the PS catalogue today.

I DLed the gamecube version of Twilight Princess "which I already own btw" so I could play it on emulator with hi def graphics and I STILL got DMCAed by Nintendo for a game from 2006! Ridiculous. I passed on getting Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League in favor of watching all the cutscenes on CZcams. You MIGHT chuckle here & there but otherwise you're not missing out on much as far as the story goes.

If you buy a live service game at launch, should there be a minimum time the game should be supported?
If the game are supported less than that time should the buyers then always be able to get a full refund.

I have said before 30fps is perfectly fine for games and I believe games should have both a 30 and 60 fps option, but TTYD going from 60 on gamecube to 30 on switch is wild, Metroid Prime Remastered was far more complex and ran at 60fps so why is this stuck at 30fps only.. Weird.
ig they prioritised 60fps with prime as it's a first person shooter but it wasnt as big a concern for a turn based rpg like ttyd

Imo they should have allowed a graphics switch to the og visuals to allow 60fps. I also heard TTYD runs on the splatoon engine which if IRC is stuck at 30fps, but wasnt mario wonder also using the splatoon engine? I cant remember if Wonder ran at 60fps but I think that was 30fps as well.

I'm actually quite convinced that the takedowns *were* initiated by a troll who doesn't actually represent Nintendo... the problem is that it no longer matters, since they appear to have contacted Nintendo directly to clarify whether the content should be removed, at which point their hand is forced - Nintendo *has* to either tell them to take it down, or officially waive their IP rights. And that's something Nintendo is unwilling to risk, primarily due to their own court history - a history of non-enforcement of the King Kong IP saved them from legal issues with Donkey Kong, so they feel compelled to enforce their copyrights at every opportunity to prevent any possibility of forfeiture.
Nintendo is simultaneously the greatest and worst video game company of all time.
The Fallout 4 ultrawide fix is just an ini “hack”. It’s 16:9 stretched for a 21:9 screen.. which we could already do on our own without mods
