I watched about half the trailer because I plan on reading the book. All I know is that he better find Margo because I just finished "Looking For Alaska" and "The Fault in Our Stars" and quite frankly, I can't take anymore pain. Thanks John Green.
😂😂 your comment made my day
He finds her and they kiss and he leaves bc he realizes she's not the "perfect girl" he fantasized about. Youre welcome.
FOR CHRIST SAKE
Emi Pooh for fucks sake
Don't worry, it's definitely not as sad as the the ones you said!:) The book is amazing, I loved it so much. My favourite is still TFIOS but Paper Towns is second by far^.^
Who realized this movie that Margo never wanted to be found and the Guy just went off thinking she has mystery puzzles for her to find but in the end it was Margo finding herself
And the thing there was that, her sister knew where she is all along. Hahahha
The way I see it, everyone has their purpose in life and you can’t just wait for it to come to you. Margo loved to feel alive and she did that by finding herself, by testing her limits and doing what she loved. When she left, that was her leaving her present self. She was surrounded by “paper towns” and “paper people”, all of whom she saw as fake. They lived their lives as if to chase perfection and she even did that for awhile. She was the beloved popular girl with a boyfriend and a huge social stratosphere. But she realized that that stuff, those people, were her future. She left the next morning after the night with Quentin, but she left bread crumbs. They’re viewed as pieces to see her whereabouts, to where she’s gone. But she doesn’t want to go back, she wants to say that she was there in that paper town. The breadcrumbs were the memories, and the fact is she did grow up there. But she doesn’t want to stay, she wants to find herself, she wants to see what can happen if you break free from your perfectly set future and find what could actually happen. I’ve heard that things always turn out good in the end, and if they don’t, it’s not the end. So maybe Margo wouldn’t end up with her perfect boyfriend and be a housewife, but at least she could say that she chose that for herself. (PS: the reality is that things work out perfectly for some people without leaving, but others have to find what is actually meant for them).
Hey, is this a good movie? I am confused should I watch this? Please reply

Im here, the 2019 youre looking for.
I love that movie, currently rereading the book
yup, im here in the middle of doing my project on the book
I was reading the book and I had like 30 pages left so I decided I'd search for the movie trailer to watch it later and I guess I spoiled the movie to my self. I hate me so much for doing this.
Someone give me the link of the movie
I don't know if it's just me but I love the ending.i think it's a good twist.usually the story would end with her forgetting who she truly is then go back to a boring life and he gets the girl.but it shows her being true to herself and not changing her path for anyone.shes a book writing her own chapters not having them write for her.
Truth
vlogBrothers brought me here
+my chemical Phomance YOU JUST GAVE ME A SPOILER.... THANKS MATE FML
+Kayra Ural shouldn't of read the comment then
+my chemical Phomance That part of the ending is great, but she never gets to actually shout in Q's face and make him realize he loves the idea of her rather than the girl she actually is. She never gets to have that closure with him and barely gets to realize that he was also more than what she saw in him. The true closure takes place when they bury the book and then takes off. The movie just didn't give us that :(
There is a MARGO in all of us.

I understand why you were so emotional when you watched Ahhh. 💗💗💗
I watched this movie since it was first released and up til now, I still watch it. It's like a tradition to me to go back to this movie every year. To remind myself of who I really am and what am capable of doing and what the world could really offer. I always invisioned myself to be someone whose successful in a very independent way without the help of any male being. No relationships, no other commitments than to myself and to the career path am taking. I thought I'd be happy if I'd end up that way only to find out that it's actually the other way around. In 2mos I'd be marrying the guy who added color to my dull and lifeless paper town. He's the greatest plot twist I could say. Well not that my chapters or pages would already be coming to an end but, we never know. I love how people in here viewed this movie/book. Lots of Love to all the people behind this master piece.💕

The Q, Ben, Radar group looks so freaking cool. I want to be in that friend group! And I am 34 years old! You can how old I am by how I'm here for the buddy comedy, which will be at least as good as the romantic dramedy bits of this movie.

I thought I was the only one who felt like this after watching this trailer! I mean this is something mysteriously amazing! :)
Everytime i watch this movie, it gets sadder and better.
That’s a bad feeling
2 things i loved about this movie:
1. Casting Nat Wolff in this movie really was something great. First time i remember him was seeing him on the Nickelodeon show The Naked Brothers Band with his brother Alex.
2. The whole premise of the movie is so enticing that i literally rewatch this movie over and over. Watching this movie makes me and anyone who wants to come out their zone to live life to the fullest and do things you never thought of doing. I start doing things i never thought i would do like taking trips to new places, doing things that i never thought i would do like parasailing, snorkeling, learning to fly a plane, just stuff most would second guess themselves of doing. Of course it’ll never be like Margo but to be living life as it goes on is something to experience.
"I have 9 things I need to do tonight"
Wait a second, I thought it was 11? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes it's eleven but in the movie they removed the sea world scene

same! i can't wait! they better have the pee scene thats all I'm worried about. and the racist shirt thing too!
We'll since they took out the sea world scene from the book (so they wouldn't have to pay sea world) it turned into 9 instead of 11
the book was 11 and I think the movie might be 9

Samee, Missing the old moments..
I remember watching this at my apartment, lights off, curtains drawn, door locked. Made me realize I'm living a s***ty life. Wanted to run away right then and there.
Let's run away
It's great you unknown.
It’s been a while since this movie came out, but in case someone had the same experience as me and is watching the trailer in 2019, I’d just like to share this.
When this movie came out my friend and I had just booked our trip to Europe. It was going to be the biggest trip I’ve taken in my whole life. We felt this movie would be a good ‘travel’ or ‘road-trip’ movie to get us into the spirit and we weren’t wrong. I enjoyed it.
Tonight my younger sisters wanted to watch this. I haven’t seen it in years and when it ended I was overwhelmed with feelings of nostalgia - a combination of remembering the good times in Europe and the sadness of it being in the past. Since Europe my life hasn’t been the same. I’ve been a little unhappy and I’ve struggled to capture the happiness I felt when I was traveling.
Watching this movie made me feel so bittersweet because it connected to a certain memory, but the movie itself with the story about friendship, leaving high school behind, bonding with friends before life inevitably changes, and traveling outside your comfort zone made me feel so much at peace. Like people said, this movie strangely enough made you think about life, moving on and letting go. I needed that.
If he refuses to see her flaws then he is not really looking at her. He's dreaming. This is not healthy for guys to do. Girls either. Really look at the real person and love that, instead of fantasizing.
You're comment is 100% answered in the ending of the novel.
+Sage That's indeed what the book is trying to tell us.
+Allie Diallo your profile pic 😍
Read he book and you'll realise he does see her flaws, just just trust me and read the book and it will make sense
Truth.
I know it wasn't John Greens intention, but I have a feeling the movie is going to ignore what the book actually meant to say and go with the whole 'wow real LOVE wow look how romantic this is, the nerdy guy and the super hot quirky girl who's so quirky she changes his life' cliche
Sameee. :/
He says in his latest vlogbrothers video that he got to watch the whole movie and loved it. And when he was talking about the tfios movie last year, he basically said "I loved it, and if I wasn't okay with it, I would say so."
I think we are going to have to trust John Green on this one. In all his vlogs and everything he has said about the film he talks about how Clara -eyebrows- Delevingne understands the character more complexly than anyone else.
I don't think that statement is one to take lightly. Remember the trailer for TFIOS? It was so annoyingly soppy. But the film itself was true to the books and broke hearts everywhere.
Trailers are designed to appeal to a wide audience, plus if they told us in the trailer that she wasn't your typical manic pixie dream girl that would be giving too much away.
You can't judge based on a trailer. 😂😂 we'll have to wait till July 24 and see
Well John was a producer on this one and has said in several vlogs that he thinks they really captured the spirit of the book. It's the same guys who did TFIOS so I expect nothing but good work. don't judge a movie by its trailer.
It’s 1 am where I’m in but i just remembered how obsessed I was with Paper Towns. I loved TFIOS so when I heard another John Green movie was about to be released, i got the book and finished it. I wasn’t able to see it in the cinemas so I bought the dvd. For a school project, we were tasked to create a movie poster either for our “own movie” or an existing one. Mine was Paper Towns with Chloe Moretz as Margo and Dylan O’brien as Q 😛 That same year, I subtitled the entire thing in my native language for a final project. DON’T MIND ME 🤧 WATCHING THE TRAILER JUST BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES 😂 u can scroll now
Everytime I rewatch or reread this, I learn something new. Only the people who deeply understand its message can say that this is a wonderful story.
Q: We were strangers by senior year.
Margo: *disappears*
Q: I love her and must pursue her.
Jordin DeSenzo
Pffft, idk, the description of a guy chasing his manic pixie dream girl on a love quest doesn't really seem like it needs that much explaining into why it's unhealthy.
They're strangers in Senior year, but they grew up together as good friends
+LoneCommenter The point of the book is that it starts with all of the cliche's and shows how they're stupid it goes
LoneCommenter I read the book and I agree 100% with you
YOUR TAMAKI PROFILE PICTURE GIVES ME LIFE 😂😂😂😂
I hope Looking For Alaska becomes the next movie. I didn't enjoy Paper Towns that much but I did like Looking For Alaska.
It is.
Looking for Alaska was the first and only book that I read all the ways through and enjoyed it so if they came out with a movie I would scream with excitement!

it's a tearjerker, it's beautiful, it makes me feel like i'm there, from the soundtrack to the book, it's all a journey, i can't explain how emotinal, happy, and sad when i watch this movie, my #1 favorite movie of all time

You're not the only one! I love the cast :D
I also think the casting was perfect and if it is john green approved casting then I approve as well.

i think Cara embodies who Margo is tbh! Like her mysteriousness and how she approached her situation...Idk i really loved the main casting :)
I am very happy. :) Everything is what I imagined when I read the book, and I think Cara is PERFECT. Hair doesn't matter, or anything like that. She's mysterious, adventurous, and silly. Lovin' the cast ♥
I read Paper Towns for the first time around 4 years ago, just before I finished high school and I just remember feeling this sense of teenage spirit, unbridled and slightly drunk on youth, something I didn't have a lot of real experience with but I cherished this book. It's been my favourite John Green novel for a long time.
I am ridiculously excited for this film. It's 12.30am on Friday morning here in Australia and I'm so glad I stayed up to see this.

Something about this comment gives me a feeling i rarely feel. I guess in a sense I'm excited. I just finished watching the movie and came here to know what others felt by this and this one for some reason is my favourite comment, especially due to how you say the time and it's 7 bloody years ago... Wow
Glad to hear that you're from Australia
I remembered watching this trailer for the first time back in 2015. I had no idea whatsoever about the book's premise nor do I care about the author, John Green. But then, everything changed. I decided to give this book a shot and was surprisingly enthralled by it; the film version is equally captivating, and, might I say, a more simple and concise version of the whole story. Thank you John Green for bringing these characters to life, and for allowing 20th Century Fox to make an adaption. I just want you to know all this, even if you'll most likely never get the chance to read this.
Oh! this was 7 years ago. I have read the book before this movie but I've never seen it. Going to watch this. I miss Cara Delavigne. I'm concerned of her. I hope she's okay. 🧡

Am I the only one that thinks Cara would make a better Alaska?
I agree.
Omg yess! That would be perfect
I think so too!
sm_loves_cat She would make a good Alaska. Nice choice.
Agreed
If you enjoy the movie you really should read this book! It is crushingly beautiful and sad at the same time.
I relate to this movie and book so much. I used to be obsessed on this guy just like Quentin being obsessed to Margo and that guy just disappeared before summer vacation without even saying goodbye to me. My friends and I went looking for clues like clues from his messages to us. I filled my mind with what if's and one day, I got tired and just told myself that I should move on. I realized that I made a strong relationship with my friends along the way with that Sherlock Holmes shenanigans. I think that's what Paper Towns' moral story is.
And also not judging people from what they appear like to us
If this movie doesn't feature them naked under their Grad gowns and buying a racist T-shirt Ill be really dissapointed because this book was filled with amazing inappropriate humour.

@Om HAHAHAHA, I only watched this because I was curious and the trailers look so cool, then it became my favorite movie HAHAHAHAHA
Just got a huge wave of nostalgia. Paper Towns was my first John Green book and I absolutely fell in love with his writing. This story has been so inspiring for me throughout highschool.
If you're just a little kid who hasn't grown up yet, don't watch it. You won't get the true meanings of the show. It's truly deep, and has so much meaning, and it's reality. Just read the top comments and the replies from the top comments. They explain it perfectly. It's not your typical cliché romantic movie at all. It really makes you think. It also really makes you think about life honestly. Brilliant. 10/10. Would watch again. It also mentions Saskatchewan in the movie, where I live! Anyone else? No? Just me? Okay.
+Jesse Yep. People don't realize John Green wrote this book to completely bash the idea of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl because it's a completely unrealistic view of women.
Jesse word i agree 👊💯
Its the opposite. Young People shall watch it, so they can learn the inportant things in life, and then they Will be adults with no regrets
@@ntintaerion8340 but what if they don't get the movie itself that's what the comment was about
yeshika yeptho so what? They may not get it on an “adult” level but they could still get something out of it. And when they watch it again after they’ve grown up, they can realize more things.
Are Trailers designed to make you cry? Or is that just John Green?
I think it's just John Green because I cried just watching the Fault in Our stars trailer
its probably john green
I started crying too and I thought it was because of the trailer but then I was like its probably because of this song but then I was also like but ive heard it before multiple times, its on one of my playlists on spotify so why am I crying? lmfao
That is John Greene, the only author to make me throw a book at the near ending of Fault in Our Stars

Oh my word. Yess. looking for Alaska was my favourite book of his 😊😊
First of all, they better include the peeing scene. Second of all, THE TIME FOR MY USERNAME TO BE USEFUL HAD FINALLY COME, MY FRIENDS.
*wipes tears* *pats your back* im so proud of you, i never thought i'd live to see this day.
and yes they better include the peeing scene - it's iconic. it should be in the history books

That was the best flashlight in a camera ever...
[2019] God I love this movie. This made me think a lot about how I live my life. After I watched this I go out with my friends, travel, night parties. Seeing this in my feed brings back a lot of memories. Looking forward for More John Green movies
I don't know where all the bullshit John Green hate has been coming from lately, but it makes me so sad. I mean everyone has a right not to like him and his work, but tumblr needs to relax. His books were such a big part of making my high school experience survivable and I am so glad for his work and his charities and his unapologetic enthusiasm for everything. I am so excited for this movie. x
A lot of the stuff tumblr hates on him for is pretty inaccurate, too...I've seen people say that he portrays broken girls who just need guys to save them which hasn't really been a part of any of his books...sure, he portrays a lot of broken girls, but I don't see how anyone thinks Alaska or Margo or even Hazel were saved by the guys they were with? And yes, he uses the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope a lot, but he has some of the most honest deconstructions of that trope, too, how that is an unrealistic way to view someone and you can't date someone who you think of as a MPDG because you're not seeing who they really are. And as far as cancer books go (having had a close family member with cancer), TFIOS is one of the better portrayals of it- nothing is romanticized, there is no Magical Cancer Patient, you get to see them in all their humanity dealing with a situation that is blatantly awful (the gas station scene? the oxygen tank? the limited mobility and quality of life? how the parents were dealing with it? the constant worry, even if they can escape it every now and then?).
Sorry, this was a long rant to say basically that I agree with you. I mean, I can see how he could definitely have more diversity in his books (especially since most of his nonwhite/nonstraight characters tend to be relegated to funny sidekick roles), but I rarely see criticisms based on that...
Nerdfighters unite!
People just like to hate on what's popular...but his stories are great!!
Ohmygod thank you
mommamilioti YES! He completely deconstructs the tropes. He even discusses how that was his attempt. He's not trying to shake up the literary world or anything, he's just doing his best. And he's doing a pretty good job! Very well put! x
Why is Angela tagging along when they were going to Agloe? Isnt it supposed to be just Lacey Ben Radar and Q? Still tho, perfect cast :) I love them so much.
Aldous Kim Azcueta Agati A change in the movie
In johns vlog he says he added her on the movie because he wanted to add her in the books but didn't :3
Aldous Kim Azcueta Agati IKR?
She shoudn't be in the car
it bugs me a little not gonna lie
Somehow i’ve always loved the trailer of this movie more than the movie itself as it makes me feel things. And secretly i come an watch it every now and then! I’m looking at the comment section now and i see comments two and one day old. So i just have question, do you all come here after years of this movie being released because you just enjoy the trailer the way i do or what?
B AK yes, i love going back to movie trailers
You're awesome.
Yeah, movie trailer was pretty much amazing. The movie, especially the ending was a huge let down and was very different than the trailer led you to believe the movie would end.
Yes
omg same
once a year I come back to watch this trailer and remember how much happier i was back then and how movies like this always got me excited.
@World Explorer Naah.. You just desperate and lonely 😂
It's amazing how nearly every scene in this trailer is SO SO CLOSE to how I imagined them in my head while reading the book. I'm so excited for this.
Same here!!! It's so close to the book and what I've imagined. Just wow.
***** I know I shouldn't be expecting so much from this, but it's so hard not to! Everything is so on point!
Is it me or is Cara Delevingne not the right person for the role? Margo was a chubby, unpopular, short-haired girl and that is not emphasised enough with her as the actress. They only casted a good-looking person to earn money, and not to fully translate the book's message. But, apart from that, this looks amazing. It's exactly how I pictured it reading the book and I CANT WAIT
The book never said she was chubby. It said she was curvy...
And she isn't unpopular. She was maybe one of the most popular people at the school.
***** I do think her personality is right for the part, as well.
I think her personality is perfect but how she looked in the book and how cara looks are two complete oppisites.
first off, Margo isn't chubby, but curvy, and wasn't unpopular. she was the most popular girl on their school. in my opinion, Cara is perfect, her mischievous look and her voice.. idk she is perfect
This was and still is my favourite John Green book
This is the movie that made me crush heavily in cara delevingne
Same
The ending was, like, super disappointing. Maybe I just haven't grown up enough yet.
+Liaret i was thinking that i'm the only one who thought that too :D
Oussama Yamine
he should have stayed with her :-)
Yep like my life
+Oussama Yamine it's more of a real life situation. that's why the ending happened that way love doesn't always work out the way you want.
I cry
Ugh, I dunno. The trailer makes it seem like it'll be really cliche.
I don't watch many movies... So, I will just agree that this would be cliché.
CiaraPhelan +1
The book was really good, so I don't know how good the movie will be. I'm kind of nervous. Some movies tend to butcher an idea.
ajlove2013 Yeah, I read the book and liked it. But this looks like it'll be turned into a typical teen movie.
Caleb Brayton You again? 😂
I promised myself to stay away from the movie until I finish the book. I read my first book and it was Paper Towns. Legit one of the happiest days of my life. Cannot tell how excited I am to watch this movie.
I read the book and watched the movie. They are " inarguably the most gorgeous" creations I've come across.
Never pictured Radar like that at all in this movie
Anirudh Kumar I know right!
It really kills it for me that Cara Delevigne potrays Margo, to me it was essential that she was just an average weight girl and not a supermodel
Tbh Cara doesnt have the perfect body of a model, she is more popular for her personality and eyebrows lol, if you actually check pics of her in a bikini, you'll see she is pretty average. Also her height is pretty normal.
Sofiab you should probably reconsider your definition of "average weight girl" (in the US)
flojowithattitude I mean, like she doesn't have a perfect body, far from it, she is just really skinny, like an average normal skinny girl.
Agreed i was hoping for someone a bit bigger.
Let's hope there'll be a part 2 of this movie...
Just watched this incredible incredible movie Somehow It left me to think about life I love the way how Margo made Q to get out of his comfort zone He made him to do these adventures for the first time At the end when he said everyone was doing all these things for the last time But I did it for the first time I felt that Q is somehow related me when I was in school I was totally like him No class bunking Didn't talk to any of my crushes Didn't go for any road trip Which Iam dying to do it with my best friends I wanted go for a road trip and breathe and do what I want to and that cameo of Gus ) in the store The little glimpse of him was enough I just realised that from the back of few days I'm watching the movies which are all adapted from best selling novels Its great And I actually love all of it Tomorrow Iam gonna watch Me Before You I hope That will be as amazing as this movie Cheers
This will be like the fault in our stars for us boys 😍
Omg it is! Lol
+Jordan Chavez I loved it :) I went with my friends
Miguel Nivia haha
really you guys like these movies??i mean i'm so happy to hear this....i want to take my bf and go but i don't really think he will like it... :/ (don't judge for the mistakes..not a native speaker)
My boyfriend took me to see the fault in our stars for our anniversary. Now we're planning to see this movie in theaters as well :)
Oh. My. God. Why is Angela attending the road trip?
Sára Alexandra Železná Because she is awesome.
But she wasn't supposed to be there!
Sára Alexandra Železná i know maybe john green just wanted her to be a bigger part (he wrote the script and or contributed to it a lot - on of those)
Sára Alexandra Železná Lacey is the one going on the road trip
MakeupByRawan 2:14 There is Lacey AND Angela :/
This movie was magical.
Those were the days when the movie came out !!!
I keep coming back to this movie. Brings back memories...
the thing i loved about the fault in our stars is that the movie was so similar to how i imagined it from the book and so is this trailer to the book. I am so excited to watch the movie and love the fact that Cara Delevingne is playing Margo.
I'm so happy they added Angela in, she's amazing. Can't wait
I'm kind of annoyed that Angela goes on the road trip. The road trip was almost half the book and they just added Angela into it. It's not right...
abigfanofALL I agree.
Its like they would change almost the whole book^^
I think Cara's voice is perffffect for Margo
OMGOMGOMGOMGIMG
AGHHHHHHHHH
"YOU NEED TO GET LOST BEFORE YOU CAN FIND YOURSELF"
💓💓 so much wisdom on both movie and the book
I remember sitting in a lonely movie theater watching this movie. It was so beautiful, made me laugh and contemplate about life. I love John Green's books! Adaptations of his books have been done pretty well. I especially remember how funny the pokemon singing scene was haha
Now, that's a trailer!
I'm so happy to see that Paper Towns is finally hitting the screens!
Can't wait to watch the moviee!
Anushri Premchand You finished reading the book naa!?
Ayyoo. I'm sorry, I'll give it to you though. It's a great book.

'Do you like dragons?' :'D
Omg i want to watch this *-*
Dunja M. Hahahahaha So awesome,Literally everyone in the theatre burst out laughing at that line myself included,Best cameo ever! :D
yassssss and i need oxygen for that scene
this film moulded who I am in a way. I understood how margo felt in an inexplicable way (more book margo), but always felt annoyed with the decision she would sometimes go thru. the need to live a full life and live around people who have no understanding of that and constantly let you down is something the escapist shall always run from. she needed to figure out who she was and escape the mystery persona she accidentally created. quentin however, was always kept in his shy circle, never fully letting himself go and loosing the love of his life for that, watching her grow up without him. And then that fateful night happens and he lets himself go, for the first time, he felt the freedom and validation from margo and refused to let go this night, this taste of euphoria. and the next day when she isn't there anymore but receives a clue, he knows he has to find her. eventually down the storyline, he finds out that the clues were just for him to know she was safe and not to find her. after talking he realises the she's just a girl, who doesn't know who she is or what she is doing but knows that whoever she is, she needs to start over. she isn' the answer to his life, or the girl that will change his life (which she sort of did), but just a girl he fell in love with as a child, and that he needed to do the same and find himself and not push away his friends or family, like margo eventually did, trapped in her life. I like to think that they eventually met down the line and that when they did, the freedom they both longed for was found within themselves and continued to meet catching up, holding on to each other, both knowingly happy.
"everyone gets a miracle"... welll im still waiting lol
Me too... Me too 😂

This movie along with newly released Chemical Hearts are two of my favourites. It literally changes you as a person the way you look at things and the whole perspective about life.
