It's not new. See the famous novel "Stanger in a Strange Land" about a human raised on Mars who has to come to Earth and acclimate to Earth life. So they took that idea and combined it with every teen movie ever to feature loving someone who's weak or sick.

*Said by at least 20 people in every trailer for any movie* Trailers show us about a 10th of about 20 scenes out of 120. Bit of an exaggeration don't ya think?
I only write this comment whenever I feel that they have shown me way too many cut scenes of the last 30 mins of the film. For example in the Batman v. Superman trailer, when they already showed in the trailer that Batman and Superman team up in the end with wonder woman.
Here, it would have been enough for me to see the guy growing up on mars and coming back to earth. That's interesting enough. Already showing us which girl he will get and which problems they will have just ruins it.

Also, It is sort of assumed that Batman and Superman would team up considering the fact that the film is leading up to the justice league films which the Justice League is founded by Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman..

Anyway, I think she's a great role model, she's prooving that you don't have to live from your mediatic side to get jobs and good teachers.Although she's an amazing actress, so I think a couple of awards wouldn't do any harm
I fell in love with her through Life Unexpected and more with The Secret Circle. Now she's got all these movie roles and I'm so proud of her. I'll always miss Life Unexpected, but I love seeing her do so well.
