Hey guys! So the other day I tried L’Oreal’s Colorista Hair Makeup on my dark brown hair. I’ve been contemplating dying my hair a light purple or red recently, so I thought why not see what it looks like by using temporary hair color. Make sure to watch the whole video to see what ended up happening, but I now know I will NOT be coloring my hair any light/bright color. 😂💞✨

i used this yesterday and it is supposed to feel like that. The product is similar to hair chalk or hair wax. it isn’t like hair dye at all. It stays in until you wash it out. you might be getting this one day hair product confused with the semi permanent version. the semi permanent version has the same colors!! it will wash out in about 2 weeks and won’t make your hair feel straw like:)
Hey, I just bought the cobalt hair makeup and it says one day now does that mean that it leaves like that? Just one day. Is the semi-permanent tho like the spray thinf that was at the store?

@Alannah Tedford For me it took at least a year to get rid of the semi permanent (red) even though I washed it twice a week. To be honest I used 2 bottles on my hair, but my hair is brown and I was afraid that it wouldn't stick. So maybe if you use the right amount it won't take that long. But even when it was fading, it wasn't ugly, but a different shade of red and brown every month.

8:40 , yeah but they were talking about another product. You used "hair makeup" but the thing where you're supposed to wait for 30 min and then wash is the "normal hair die" that is supposed to stay on for 2 weeks (not 1 day like hair makeup)

Its not a hairdye its hair makeup and it washes out with 1 i think your confused it with the hair dye which last for like 2-ish weeks
Colorista Washout is the one you're supposed to rinse our, Colorista Hair Makeup washes away with rain.

You are supposed to do thin sections going from tips and up using downward motion and comb through while still wet it drys quickly combing it through while wet will result in soft hair less chalky ... this is why we read and follow the instructions 😊
it's not dye, it's hair makeup, mate. i've used colorista semi-permanent dye on my natural dirty blonde/light brown hair and it was honestly great, it washed out after a few weeks.
hair makeup is a completely different thing. it's NOT a dye, it works kinda like hair wax.

She was supposed to comb through her hair as the product was still wet (once she applied it) but she brushed it after

your supposed to put hair oil in it so it’s soft. i did it and it worked great
She literally did every step wrong. You put it into really really thin sections and immediately brush it while it’s still wet. It’s NOT dye, it’ll wash out, but if you apply it correctly and actually follow the instructions it won’t feel nearly as dry as in this video
GUYS it’s a one day colour and a hair makeup, the semi-permanent is a DYE, they t both different but same company

It works for me and I have dark brown to black hair
Tip: after you dye it and you can see the colour re dye it and the colour is more visible

She didn’t use the semi-permanent one. That’s why it rinsed out immediately.
this is like a pet peeve of mine, let me know if anyone agrees but i hate when people put the dye in the palm of their hand.like put it on your fingertips!!

Just a thought > But possibly should of blow dried the first pink part before starting the purple . I think leaving it while you did the other purple part was what made it dry stiff and feel somewhat static xx

They have different products - all in the Colorista family. The one you wash out is the semi permanent hair dye. That’s not what you were using. The one you were using was the one that only lasts to your next wash.

I did that and I have black hair, and it turned out actually rlly good, so I guess u should’ve combed through it while applying and your also not supposed to leave it with like a clip on and do it in smaller strands next time
Yeah, I think I may have added too much to my hair. But then again I just don’t see how this would make your hair colored while keeping its regular texture. The dye is sticky and I just don’t to see how it would show up while staying silky smooth.

Yea, this definitely is for short term use, like to try out and see what a color would look like on your hair before you make the commitment. It’s definitely NOT something you would use on a regular basis for colored hair
@@AudreyVictoria from what I hear it reacts really differently when actually used correctly. The application is smother for thin sections and the texture smoother when combed while wet.

I tried the actual colorista semi permanent dye, not just the temporary hair ‘makeup’, & I tried the maroon/dark red color! I made a video about it on my channel too haha 😜

Use the the semi colorists hair dye it’s from the same brand but it’s not like the one you use basically the one you used is only meant for a one day wear where the semi hair dye isn’t like that you can wear it for weeks and it’ll make your hair not chalky it will make your hair hella soft as If you shampooed and conditioned it .
ive used this exact same product and it felt hard and straw-y like yours.
I did the same thing I rinsed it out after 45 I have medium blonde hair and it completely rinsed out my box says to rinse it out and it says 5-10 shampoos
maybe you got the semi permanent dye
I used the red one from colorista on my hair (not half literally everything) you have to use the red one cuz those 2 colors are not really giving an effect cuz your hair is to dark, i tried the purple one once and i didn't saw any change so yeah
So I’m old. Lol. And looking into these hair chalk type things and they just remind me of hair color spray. They make your hair feel straw like and it’s like hair spray. We would use it when we were kids either on Halloween, for a big game, or in the summer just for fun- just for a day or a few hours. Was wondering how these products compare to that- if it’s a more updated, safer version? And then I googled hair color spray and found this exact product in a spray form. 😀
I use the raspberry hair makeup often (my hair is just slightly lighter than yours) and have had no problem with the texture or with it showing up. When used correctly, the texture isn't very evident at all. To be honest, you just applied it incorrectly

I use the dark purple and it made my hair dark color with blue highlights and it last for a week.
That’s cause it’s one day wash so you read The permanent dye Instructions so you weren’t supposed to do that because that’s the one the wash if you wash it out don’t go away but if you use the permanent stuff you leave it in for 30 minutes and then wash it out and it stays
its hair makeup not hair dye hence why it says 1 day colour on the box and if you were meant to wash it out they would say so. No shade but do your research.

That was hair makeup and not hair dye😬 that is why it is dry and also why it only last for a day😅
I use temporary hair dye before and the only reason why the hair feels dry and stiff because it has wax in it.
She literally said “it makes a weird noise” like what does that have to do with it 🙄

I think you've used the "hair makeup" and tried to use it like the washout colour...But i dont know if im right but where i am from (germany/bavaria)they have These two and i already used the makeup and it worked exactly like what u tried...sorry for my bad english but im still learning it in school(i am 7th grade)
You have pretty good English especially if you're only learning in school
You are supposed to brush it out while it is still wet, that is most likely why it didn't work.

Sometimes when you use it sometimes it will be stiff you can use oil spray (hair only) soooo..... also don't put too much I used it and it wasn't that very good!!!
This was hair makeup not semi-permanent hair color, there completely different. This one is meant to be something you wash out after one use. There are different ones that last up to 10 washes.
The box says hair may have a different feel until its washed out.
When you wash it out, it all comes out...so what’s the point?
Audrey Victoria I tried the one that lasts 2 weeks and it says wash till the water is clear and it was never turning clear so I just dried my hair and it felt fine, mine lasted a whole month though

It's hair make up lol, it's meant to be put on the hair not saturate and it washes off when u wash ..it feels wierd but cool when u know how to use it.😊

I think it works better for people who have lighter hair maybe that's why I think with people with lighter hair if they pu it on their hair and they rinse it out ill will still stay on
Guyyyy it written in the box at the begining. Its hair make up not hair dye that why it so dry, try the temporary hair dye it way better and stay on your hair for 2 weeks

This hair dye is so disappointing it's not for ppl of color, I tried the same raspberry ,I have spend the whole weekend trying to get this dye in my hair, it turned flaky when its dry so, when it is dry and I comb it out everything is basically on the brush ,or comb. As it drys you will see it looks like red dandruff and does not stay at all. And my hair was clean for sure . I'm so disappointed. Why is the result flaky

i bought colorista hot pink & dark blue at Walmart.me & my walking to the door to the car-i hear this guy say (colorista colorista) & this women laugh at the colorista that i had in my hands.i was so pissed-my mom didn't believe.
Your hair is basically black.... of course it’s not going to show up.. it even says that it won’t show up on dark hair. My hair is nearly dark brown and the orange semi permanent colorista showed up on my hair sooo well
It's not that the dye didn't show up, it's that it was really stiff and sticky in my hair.

It's cus you used temporary hair dye.
It's not hairdye. It's hair make up. Which is like chalk(ish). It washes out at once. Temporary hair dye lasts up to 2 weeks.

Anais hinds You certainly put too much of it! Try with much less product, rather like 2/3 less than this girl in the video and dry it with a phone and a brush. In case your hair feels a bit dry, you can put a drop of hair oil. As a matter a fact it's not ment for gaining a totally intense contrast hair colour look, it's suppose to create you that more of light blended look with your natural hair and very little contrast.

It will only work on bleached hair and gives different shades as it fades. It won’t work on dark hair.
Yeah, I can definitely see that.
I do not recommend this product to people who have brown, thick and very porous hair. I made the red in August 2019 and now, April 2020 is still present, it does not disappear and the only method is to cut the hair. Unfortunately product rejected, be careful, it is not for everyone.
