  • In this video I cover all the 3rd level spells available in Solasta, and give my opinion on which are my favorites and which are terrible. .
Bring the authentic Tabletop gaming experience to your PC!
Roll for initiative, take attacks of opportunity, manage player location and the verticality of the battle field. Set yourself up for the finishing strike and possibly roll a natural 20 at that key moment of battle.
In Solasta, you take control of four heroes, each with unique skills that complement one another. Every hero expresses themselves in the adventure, making each action and dialog choice a dynamic part to the story. Players will create their heroes just as they would in a pen-and-paper game by choosing their race, class, personality and rolling for their stats.
You make the choices, dice decide your destiny.
    Key Features:
    An Epic Team Adventure
Discover the shattered world of Solasta: explore ruins and dungeons for legendary treasures, learn the truth of an age-old cataclysm - and stop it from happening again.
Create your very own party of adventurers with our Character Creation Tool in the classic tabletop RPG tradition. Breathe life into your heroes, and see their personalities reflected in their dialogue. Tailor your squad to your preferred strategy and maximize your party's abilities. The choice is yours.
Discover a Mysterious & Dynamic World
Delve into long forgotten dungeons to unearth ancient artifacts, but stay watchful of light and darkness: many dangers hide in the dark, but a light can attract monsters. Some enemies have darkvision, some may flee from your torch... Successful adventurers will learn to use it to their advantage.
Fight monsters in squad-level, turn-based, tactical combat. Solasta's dynamic environment offers some interesting tactical options. Bridges can collapse, leaving enemies stranded and vulnerable. Walls and columns can be pushed over - on top of your foes, if you do it right. The world is your playground.
Prepare to Think in Three Dimensions
The dungeons in Solasta are more than flat game-boards. Climb, jump, or fly around obstacles. Evade or surprise foes from above or below. Push them into chasms or drop things on their heads. Position yourself on high grounds to start the fight with an advantage.
Size also matters. Escape through narrow passages where bigger enemies won't fit and crawl through tunnels to find secret areas. Take advantage of the environment to find cover suited to your own size. Watch out, though - the monsters are also thinking vertically.
    Dungeon Maker
In Solasta, the adventure does not stop after the campaign is over. Unleash your creativity and craft your own dungeons to play and share with friends with the snap of a finger using the in-game Dungeon Maker! From the room layout, monster composition and treasure the party will find - down to the decoration and lighting of each room or the music track playing - everything is decided by you.
Note that the Dungeon Maker is a work in progress and will keep being improved as time goes by, so look forward to more Dungeon Maker features in the future!
Solasta Free Content Update with the release of Primal Calling
To celebrate the release of the Primal Calling DLC, we're releasing a free content update for all our players - including a much anticipated higher level cap!
Level cap increased from level 10 to level 12, unlocking new class features as well as level 6 spells
Scars and Facial Paints customization options in character creation
Tired of playing through the tutorial? You can now skip it!
Rebalanced (harder!) fight at the end of the campaign - prepare for a challenge!
New Town Exterior & Town Interior Environments for the Dungeon Maker
New Campaign Creator Feature, allowing custom dungeons to be bundled together into a campaign with custom monsters, custom NPCs & merchants and custom items!

I agree that touch and concentration make Bestow Curse not ideal, but it can be a very potent nuke. The Attack curse adds 1d8 to each hit you do on the target. Each hit; no limit. So if you curse your target and then upcast magic missiles on it, each missile you fire will deal 1d8 extra damage in addition to its normal damage. Suddenly you're dealing 5d8+5d4 damage each round that can't miss. Situational, but very cool :)

This is a very neat combo that I did not think about, so thanks for posting. Cheers!

Late to the party but for anyone watching this late as well: Wind Wall doesn't state it in the description but it actually shoves enemies away. You can get multiple cliff kills if you use this correctly.

Wow, I never use this spell since I thought it functioned like the 5e version. This is great information! Cheers!

Yeah - I am excited for the new classes and feats. The feats are one of the parts of Solasta that need some love, so I am glad they are adding more! Cheers!

I definitely agree that conjure animal is going to go further than wind wall, but wind wall is still excellent for drawing archers in when they are too far away.

There are an awful lot of archers in Solasta, so I can see how this has a use. Thanks for the post. Cheers!

Has anyone not seen the ai make its saving throw? I can't remember it happening.

Haha what difficulty are you playin on and what is the DC of your spells. At higher difficulty they will save more often. Also, if you have a low DC from ability scores and gear you will also have a hard time. This is an RNG game for sure, so even with a high DC and on easy mode you can still fail a few in a row....Cheers!

I would rather use moonbeam at lvl3 than call lightning - both are concentration spells, but moonbeam isn't just limited by first casting.

    • @VaniverseGaming
      @VaniverseGaming  Před rokem

True, but I like call lightning since it does not hit my friends when they enter. Cheers!

Fireball is great but doesn't scale well I'd use Fear and especially Hypnotic Pattern since it will most certainly shut down enemies even on the hardest difficulties I don't find monsters running across the battlefield to wake them either and if they did they'd waste multiple actions to do so

      @VaniverseGaming  Před rokem +1

Thanks again for the comment. I am not 100% sure I agree with you here solely based on Solasta not D&D as a whole. Solasta focuses on having a lot of creatures in the encounter, but most of them have low HP. Dropping 1 to 2 Fireballs usually wipes them all out even at higher level or at least softens them up enough to allow my single target DPS characters to clear out the rest. Cheers!

@@VaniverseGaming Idk even in cases were all you're fighting is 8 zombies at level 5 at the castle have 44 hp a fireball that has a avg of 28 damage on a failed save isn't going to kill them far better to Hypnotic Pattern like 4 of them and just pick them off you take way less damage because less action economy and less resource expenditure

Btw creatures don't get to save each turn vs fear if they see the caster

10:07 Beacon of hope cannot be casted with prayer of healing because it's a 1 minute concentration spell and Prayer of healing requires 10 minutes to cast. I don't think it's a good spell unless you can justify throwing away a 3rd spell slot instead of simply 2 prayer of healing for instead.
If you took so much healing that you need to spend all you spell slot to heal back, then yeah beacon of hope could be ok value but at the point it's probably better to just get a short rest.
    Nice video otherwise.
