2024 VinFast VF8 Review! The VF8 is a fully electric crossover from a Vietnamese brand that nobody in America has ever heard of. It has been criticized for just about everything, today I am going to figure out if it deserves that reputation. I'll review this new VinFast VF8 and I'll show you the many quirks and features. I'm also going to get behind the wheel and show you what it's like to drive.

Doug, glad to have you review and test drive the VinFast VF8. I am one of the early adopters of the first model, the 2023 VF8 Plus City Edition. Drove everyday with more than 22,000 miles for more than 13 months before I upgraded to the 2024 model. Never had big issues with the 2023 City Edition, other than a few software updates. Love driving it, especially the ADAS on Sacramento freeways during commute, and never look back to ICE cars. Still get positive compliments from other drivers on regular basis. Many people liked the design because it looks more like a normal SUV, and they particularly loved the luxurious and spacious interior. For those interested in learning about my user/owner experience with the VF8, I shared many videos on my channel.

A lot of people forget that Pininfarina didn't only work for high-end sportscar manufacturers. They were a design studio devoted to many other vehicles that are similarly anonymous such as the Hyundai Matrix, Daewoo Lacetti, the newest Mitsubishi Lancer, and several Peugeot sedans, so seeing them do a more high production model isn't that unusual.
I also had to laugh when Doug was complaining about the anonymous styling both inside and out. It sounds like his big complaint is that there are almost no "quirks and features" for him to point out.

Other crying issues about the vehicle that i have not experienced.
The problem is these guys dont own the vehicle. Theres a difference in having it as your personal vehicle and just sitting in it for 20 minutes.

Honestly, I am very impressed with VinFast's electric car models. When I was in Vietnam, I used many public transportation services, including the taxi service with VinFast electric cars. Even though I was only in the back passenger seat or the front passenger seat, I could feel the excellent quality of the car, with smooth, reliable, and solid performance. I have used cars like the S450, Macan Turbo S, GLC250, and 4Runner, and I'm pretty sure that if I have the opportunity, I will try to own my first electric car, either the VF8 or VF9. People in Canada will definitely find the VF8 and VF9 intriguing.

In Vietnam, Japanese and Korean cars were once revered, and Vinfast cars were disliked more than anywhere else in the world. However, Vinfast now has a larger market share than any other car brand in Vietnam. When buying my car, I was sure I would choose a brand like Toyota, Ford, Kia, or Hyundai. Vinfast was somewhere at the bottom of my priority list. However, after test driving it twice, I decided to buy a Vinfast. What I like most about Vinfast is the comfortable, solid, and safe driving experience. In Vietnam, many people jokingly call Vinfast a tank because of its sturdiness and its ability to protect the driver in serious accidents

With a 65% battery from 80% down to 15% on a single charge, my VF8 Plus can go roughly 170 miles during the normal weather condition in California! Hire some Indians to write some of the software. Hire some Germans to consult on building a modern(ish) car factory. Slap all those things together.
