    The Land Cruiser only came back like this in North America and Europe, every other country gets the actual full size Land Cruiser (the 300 series). You can get that with either a 3.3 turbodiesel V6, a 4.0 V6 (the same 1GR-FE as the outgoing 4Runner), and the same 3.5 twin turbo V6 as the LX600. 26:55 That's the thing-you can. Because the Land Cruiser 300 series (which the rest of the world gets) has that Sequoia V6. In place of the 300 series, you guys got the Lexus LX 600 instead. And I kinda expected you to call that vehicle back in this vid knowing you've reviewed the LC 300 before lol
    The reason why this "Land Cruiser" is slotted with the 4Runner and the GX is because it isn't the actual big ball Land Cruiser you guys know and love. This is the Land Cruiser Prado (or the 250 series.) and it has always been the Lexus GX ever since the 120 series. Doug, at the beginning of your video, you presented the differente generations of LC.
    However, you should have specified, those are the lines that only came up to the US.
    The actuall succesor of the 2010 200 Series is the 300 series, which has been around in the global market since last year, and its Lecus homologation.
    Now, the one you are presenting here, is the LC 250 series, successor of the LC 120 Series, which is the successor of the 90 series, which is the successor of the LC II or 70 Series.
    After the 70 Series, LC split its line into the full size LC 80 Series, and later on a medium Since 90 Series, also known as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, in other countries.
    This one in your video, is the newest Prado, the newest full size LC is the 300 series.
    Also in Lexus, this homologation, the Lexus GX 550, its the succesor of the 460, which is the successor of the 470.
    While the Lexus LX670 its the successor of 570, which is is followed by the 470.
    So Toyota never "killed" that line.
    It was only discontinued in the US.

    This LC is from a different lineage than the old 80/100/200/300 land barges. This is a replacement for the 90/120/150/Prado/Colorado lighter duty, more compact models. The 300 series continues in production and sells well in Australia and the Middle East although discontinued in the USA and Europe. Indeed they never started selling the 300 series in Europe. The 80 and 100 series sold very well indeed in the UK but the 200 series replacement bombed, possibly by design due to corporate fleet fuel consumption limits imposed on car companies.

    There is no Sequoia or 4Runner in Europe/UK. The Land Cruiser is the only 4x4 by toyota here. Sequoia and 4Runner are US only model (someone correct me). The Land Cruiser is the Toyota 4x4 for the rest of the World. And the rest of the world is indeed very pleased to have Land Cruiser back.

      @shrayesraman5192 Toyota's association is a bit of a lower end in the US compared to the rest of the world. Just like VW Touareg is discontinued in US, it seems like a luxury higher-end car with a regular car brand badge does not work. In contrast, Lexus LX, technically the same car as LC300, sells extremely well at 130k+ usd

  • @derekp1651
    @derekp1651 Před 21 dnem

    I think the third row features present in the U.S. model Land Cruiser are less foreshadowing and more because Europe gets a diesel variant that has the third row seat and it's cheaper to manufacture parts that will fit every vehicle. You can't put the third row seating in the hybrid model because of the battery pack.

When I looked up the front legroom numbers they are indeed only 33" for the 2024 Landcruiser, vs. 41" for the 2024 GX, 42" for the 2024 Tacoma, 41" for the 2024 4Runner. This is defintely an important consideration for me. I wonder why Toyota did this with the Landcruiser, when in every other way it is so similar to these other vehicles.

      Garage videos are unwatchable due to sound reflections. A couple of freestanding fabric wrapped sound deadening insulted panels would be an inexpensive solution that would improve sound quality drastically. I think it’s kind of a game maybe, how little can I spend on tech (cheap tripod, basic camera, no slider shots, minimum sound recording devices) and still maintain a high level of viewership. The formula is working but enough people have mentioned sound that’s it may be worth the $278 in fabric, insulation, strapping, a box of screws and some staples to address it. 😂
