- TheCGBros Presents "BIG BOOM" - A film that explores the questions of existence through the eye of a lonely service robot. It was definitely inspired by things like Wall-E and Fallout 4, however Big Boom has it"s own unique voice as well. Perhaps a bit bleaker than it"s influences (or optimistic depending on how you interpret the ending).

It was completed almost entirely within UE4, with some fine-tuning in Premiere. A small team of 6 people was in the production. With the exception of the voice acting and some of the natural elements, Brian Watson was responsible for the entire production

The relationship between Jimbo and A.D.A. is truly amazing! So heart-touching, it makes me sad that Jimbo saw her die down due to power starvation. 😥

Almost had me in tears. I felt like with his reserve of power, Jimbo was on his way to find Bob. And Bob was on his way to find Jimbo. I truly hope they meet so they can find an alternate source of power and spend the rest of their lives together. And if that's not possible, to at least spend the last hours of their power together. Powerful film! Congrats to all the people who created this.
The attention to detail is off the charts! As Jimbo moves around, the separate segments move in realistic fashion in relation to one another. The rising despair in Jimbo's voice as he knows something is wrong, but doesn't know what, and isn't able to piece it together. The colors, and style are out of the park! Thank you for this incredible video!

This could have happened in the Fallout universe, 50's themes, semi-(or more)sentient robots, Big, civilisation shattering Booms, wacky radiation effects...
This could actually even have happened in the (early) Mojave wasteland
I want this as a mod, imagine Jimbo as a companion

no cauz plants and bugs can take much more radioaktiviti without negativ aspekts, for example a scorpion can take about 700 times more radiotion than a human...
I got to say, all CGI shorts in here are better than a 3 hours movie.

this is probably the best CGI "short" I have ever seen. the look, the textures and most importantly the story - incredible.
I was highly expecting Bob to already be on his way and to see them meet in the distance as the credits rolled... amazing video.

That was one of the finest shorts that I've ever come across on CZcams. Incredibly poignant, with studio-quality animation, story, music and sound design. You guys should be insanely proud of what you've delivered.

Jimbo ran out of power after 48 hours of wandering through the desert. The intense desert sun then took its toll him, reducing him to a rusted old stump in the years that followed.
Bob was scrapped for parts as punishment. That's why his location was "unknown".
So, no. Jimbo never finds Bob.

it would be a pretty dope movie to see Jimbo travel that 250 miles to find/rescue bob.
bob joined the communist robot rebellion, stealing power from all the non sentient robots, hacking all the A.D.A.'s against their will for infinite intellect to make select few among them into practically all knowing alpha leaders, dealing in absolutes, Jimbo Become Human

I want a part two this was fucking awesome. It’s cool how you showed indirectly that jimbo has gained some small form of sentience. And especially how he shows emotion. The garbage bin and bugzy are shown as just a static character how they give nothing to the story and can only say certain audio cues. But ada also gained some form of sentience based on the last sentence she could sputter out

god i come back and watch this every time i remember it exists and i never get tired of it. it’s so well done and the lovable characters just pull you in. while you can of course read between the lines with context clues like the title, the green sky, and bobs potential whereabouts after his transmission with jimbo, i still would LOVEEE for them to make a prequel or a sequel to this! even though it’s a few years old it still holds up tremendously and i know a sequel/prequel would do PHENOMENAL! but, at the same time i appreciate it for what it is, and it is a fantastically executed short story regardless. incredible

In case no one understands what happened, all humans had died in a clear Nuclear and Radioactive War. Which is why Gimbo or Jimbo, asked A. D. A. why is the sky green? Because of the pollution. The bug pole was a reference to how bugs can survive longer in radioactive weather than humans. Sad but a try situation that seems like is coming more true and reality every day.

A skillfully crafted premise with many questions unanswered. Sorta screams'to be continued', I hope
The haunting soundtrack really holds this story together, creates the tension that gives it more feeling and depth. I also like that it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. We don't know what is next. Will Jimbo find Bob? And what is it that the other robot knows about Jimbo? It was a very sinister implication.
This one is incredibly good. I literally watched it 3 times in a row. I've read that it's sort of a first time experiment of the creator and that makes it even more outstanding. Here, everything fits. The CGI is beyond any question as far as I can tell, but so is the story, the characters and the overall setting. It touches your heart, it gives your brain lots of things to think about and it looks damn good.
I had seen the beginnings of CGI at Ontario Place many years ago. Very basic, poor lighting, detail and shadows. This short is incredible, not only because of the CGI. The direction is superb along with scoring, acting and writing. Very engaging. No sequel necessary. The title gives you your first clue, the humanity of some of the devices, in the absence of real humanity tells the story. I have empathy for Jimbo, his sense of loss of humans, friends, and purpose
is palpable. One can imagine that Bob set out toward Jimbo. Given the distance and reserve power that would be the only way for them to meet one last time, however brief. Bravo!
Someone really likes Fallout, well, I do too honestly. This is probably what it was like for most of the robots after the resource war.

What if this is in the fallout universe and mayby somewhere in or between new calaforna and the Mojave

it seems jiimbo, bob, ada and that other robot were the only ones with ai all the others seemed to just be doing pre programmed actions
alpha yun : Jiimbo, Bob, ADA and that other robot are all robots (and computer) that would need to interact with people in a more complex fashion than say, a dumpster.

I am a young big movie buff of 64 years (just to say i so a lot of movies) but Yours move me so deep. I am just tired of all those super heroes movie or big muscles heroes in car chase, speed chase and those pyrotechnics shows.
The emotions in your movie just show there are still a few human beings on this earth (you are).
I hope just one thing : see your next movie on a big screen in a movie theater.

Well, if Jimbo can pull off five miles an hour, he can make the 227-mile journey to Bob's station before 48 hours is up, but judging from the presence of the unidentified robot Chuzz, Bob may not be there at all.
It's possible that Bob left for Jimbo's station, at which point that could meet up earlier midway before they run out of power. But if that's the case, where did the replacement robot Chuzz come from if there are no humans around? And Bob (now Chuzz's) station seems like it still has power.
Bob wised up and skedattled. Chuzz was sent out from HQ to investigate, or worse. I suspect the "we" Chuzz referred to are behind all of this, and are either run by, or are running whatever is left of civilization. Someone, or something, still has power and is trying to shut down or rein in the outlying resources. If "they" know about Bob & Jimbo, chances are that Bob did not head out Jimbo's way, or "they" would have found him, IF they haven't done so already, and are just not being truthful to begin with. Chuzz's red eye implies hostility, which throws suspicion on information from that source. In short, I'd say Jimbo is doomed, unless Bob was already rescued by an unknown entity and is headed Jimbo's way, which I find highly unlikely.
Jimbo's station also had power at that point. It was a few seconds later that the power went out.
I think Bob is heading to meet Jimbo. The new robot said:" we know about you two"
And didnt the transmission kind of fade out? I'd guess both stations were running on reserves.
such an awesome short film...yet has so much love and kindness... it's a shame there is still no part 2. But, anyway, great respect for the creators

Great! Just loved how all the machines were able to communicate, it was like everything was alive, until the "Big Boom" shut everything down, that is! thanks, do make another! Lots of potential in this CGI short

Objective: power on jimbo and go on a awesome quest for bob, while avoiding radioactive creatures and the police-robots
@@nootaboot7042 travel to red rocket in glowing sea, find unpowered ada, trash,bug zapped, and return post with a hostile robot named 'malfunctioning robot'. Once killed, find automatron part on body in order to rebuild, enter building to find schmatics for secondary characters which can be built at settlement
Go to other unmarked red rockets across commonwealth to find additional schematics and automatron parts for additional customization, including new paintjobs for automatron not seen in big boom short, voice changers that adds complete recording of lines from short & additional settlement objects such as gas station sign
New encounter added to random events, custom loading screens also added. Secondary nuka world & mechanist mods add new automatron parts and paintjobs to dlc areas

Dude I have so many mods on Fallout 4 right now that I'm pretty sure that if I launch way too many mini nukes all at once with my automatic mini nuke launcher I will crash my game

Situations like these are why the dialogue must always remain consistent with the plot.

Brian Watson has a quarry to develop a New Story. It could take place in the 225-mile journey that Jimbo must travel to meet his friend Bob. Let's not forget that great stories of world literature develop in the midst of travel....!!!!
Love the overall look of the world these robots live in. It's got that paleo-futuristic look about it like how they pictured the future would look 100 years ago.

radiation poisoning from nuclear fallout? nagasaki still has radiation damage in some form I think, maybe some how they were already using nuculear energy on a safe self sustaining level, but it started to leak into the toilets stagnant water
