Probably the most practical electric scooter I've seen so far. A good range and performance with a convenient removable power pack that doesn't take up all the usual under seat storage space. This one could really be a game changer. And it looks good too.

Why absolutely not buy the Silence S01 scooter (purchase from URBAN360 Paris) in France today.
Purchase Friday January 10, 2020 and electrical failure after 2 km.
After various resumptions and untimely stops of functions including some while driving which makes the vehicle dangerous.
Since Saturday 11 January the scooter has been towed to URBAN360 and contact made with Silence Spain.
I learn from the dealer that there is no preparation for the road. The scooter is considered ready to go without intervention "since it is made at the factory by Silence" and URBAN360 insists on delivery to 0 km on the odometer! It is a very dangerous situation. What about the braking and simple rolling of the vehicle? The basics of security.
My situation with URBAN360 is very stormy and conflicting. I advise any future buyer (Scooter or giroscopic wheel and electric scooter) to choose this shop. You will have problems. Read the following.
I dialogue with the management of Silence.eco by specifying the incompetence of the French concessionaire who has no intervention equipment for diagnosis on the scooter (URBAN360 writes to me by email). I explain that there is a lack of conformity of the scooter (new series) because the 5.6 KW / H battery (label on the back of the battery) gives the same autonomy in Eco, City and Sport modes as the battery of 4 KW / H of the version of the scooters series 1.
When asked this question, the Silence brand does not respond and the dealer does not understand the question and does not respond.
Impossible that a 5.5 KW / H battery (this is the real power defined by Silence.eco) gives the same autonomy as a 4 KW / H battery.
It is the basic knowledge that URBAN360 does not have, which only sells electrics.
I copy below an extract of the manual in English and Spanish that my sent Silence.eco
I quote the excerpt from page 2: "Este modelo tiene una velocidad máxima de 100 km / hy la autonomía de su batería oscila los 115 km, lo que permite recorridos en la ciudad con gran autonomía y con un ahorro del 85% compared con una moto de combustión. "
These words confirm what I say about the 5.5 and 4 KW / H battery comparisons. Eco mode allows a range of 90 km with the 4 Kw / H battery and 110 km with the 5.5 KW / H battery.
Another discovery after purchase, of non-conformity of the product, because as always you discover it after paying and driving and in my case driving, it was not even the case.
I quote the extract from page 5: "DISCLAIMEREsta moto NO está preparada para ir por autovía / autopista de forma continuada, aunque podría ir en momentos puntuales. El vehículo está diseñado para circular à 85km / h constants sin provocar sobrecalentamiento a ningún elemento If the vehicle is used in Sport uninterruptedly, the pack of batteries or Battery Pack (BP) podría llegar a sobrecalentarse; por este motivo, SILENCE ha desarrollado un sistema que optimiza el consumo y la potencia del vehículo para modificar prestaciones sobre la marcha y evitar este tipo de problemática. "
It's a joke ? When we see the communication made on this exciting scooter according to all the testers who say "bestial acceleration, so powerful and which travels at 100 km / h" yes, ... but not just over very short distances then? How many km or ... meters can you be at 100 km / h without damaging the scooter?
Another thing, URBAN360 did not know that the scooter application works in France. I am the one who teaches them. URBAN360 also says that the regenerative energy brake motor is only a commercial discourse of Silence and that it should not be counted on so much it is insignificant ... Silence.eco will appreciate and without explaining (as for the autonomy of batteries and 100 km / h).
URBAN360 even says on Silence.eco that my scooter, because I finally admit that it is not the first failure: "... it's very good, your failure will make Silence move".
What is Silence.eco's position and action vis-à-vis this French reseller who does what he wants on behalf of a brand that he flouts? To be continued.

I am really impressed by the combined battery-trolley, but not exceedingly so. The weight, for what i got, is 33kgs: that is great in most situations, but not all. Even a couple stairs steps (not full flight of stairs, just take the elevator, i mean some of those 3-5 steps often present in many european buildings) would be quite a torture to overcome with such an heavy "trolley". Even high-gradient hills could be a problem: i have an underground car box, to drag a 33kgs battery with me from there would be hard, and for my GF next to impossible.

A seguir.

A suivre.

One day we're going to look back at the scooters with these humongous batteries and laugh. Just like computers of year past, as technology changes the battery sizes will be much smaller, have shorter charge times and give us many more miles per charge.
