I’d like one for round town and short rides, but the price I’m afraid is the killer. I have a SH125i which cost £4000 and does 144mpg the extra £3500 for one of these buys a lot of fuel for it. In fact I paid less than the cost of this bike for my SH125i and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball combined. It’s a pity the government withdrew the ev subsidy that made these bikes more affordable.

How did you find the suspensions on potholes? I have read many complaints. Also, do you think the battery trolley system will resist if you regularly extract it and charge it at home, or will the hinges fail?
The suspension with it being the SO1 plus was much better than most scooters I ride.... Also it is adjustable. So the connected models may have issues but not this one.
The trolley is OK but pends what terrain your going to be pulling out over.
Over seven grand for a bike that does 65 miles, then needs charging?? Far too expensive .. no thanks!

You can get a Silence SO1 or SEAT Mo in showroom condition for about 2.5K now, from unsold stock imported 2 years ago. Doesn't have the 'push to pass' extra 6 mph that the 'plus' version does, and the suspension isn't ajustable, otherwise its the same bike. Battery is the same, at 5.6kWh. Once solid state batteries become more of a thing , this battery should be upgradeable to around 8kWh and fast charging, whether Silence or a 3rd party will offer this remains to be seen.

I have a Niu nqi gts pro. Had it 2 years and think it's great.
An upgrade in performance is obvs good but the drawback is that I'd want about 10kWh and type 2 charging. I run an Enfield interceptor for my leisure riding but would switch to a second electric with those 2 parameters in place. The ce04 ticks the boxes but is out of reach on price.
I'll stick to the Niu for general getting about and the interceptor for longer weekend jaunts. For now.
I fully agree with you that there is something very enjoyable about wafting around silently. Riding the Niu is definitely fun and no way a chore.

Love it. It's good to have both. But the price would have to come way down and I don't think it will. It will be good to have more electric reviews but I think they should be an option not a replacement.
Yeap I have 1 more coming but electric isn't there yet. The next one is 3 times the price!

Interesting machine if you've got a city commute. Scary where all new bike prices are going, Carol's Street Triple was the same price new back in 2015.
Will the battery last and will it be worth anything in a few years???
Plenty of new electric cars are suffering horrendous depreciation, I suspect the same will happen to this.
I can only soak from experience of bmw battery's in that people in on the forums worth say that after 5 years and a couple of them are at 30-40k miles and bmw tested them and they were still running at 80% capacity. Not sure about these, a lot of unknowns here!
Yes second hand market with these is very early days. I do enjoy the bikes though but a lot to learn 👍🍻

Good question, is better to have something to help onto for sure but it's OK for plodding around on.
And easy on and off. I enjoy them but would pay 7.5k for one.
Electric is fun. If you ever get chance to try a zero for example.... Honestly you will love it 👍
As far as electric scooters go this seems to be one of the better offerings.

Yeap it is...I realy like riding it but its for a certain person that isnt concerned about distance riding and just wants a work horse...good fun and brill for 2 up riding I found. constant power.

Hiya, Thanks for the review mate it's good to hear the facts I can see your point of view but I just don't think it's for me, I enjoy my bike too much, but I can see it does have its uses. In 2014 I bought a scooter just to try it and I hated it and couldn't wait to get rid. So Thanks but No thanks.

What's the range on a full charge? And how much does it cost to fully charge?
You should compare it to the SuperSoco CPX I had, if you can get them to loan it to you - they should!
I talk about range in Sundays review. Gauge it on a good 65 miles...
Not intrested in soco now mate, I've heard to many things of them having issues.
It's more petite than the cpx but from memory about the same storage.
In the main review I mention Silence say it costs £1 per 100 miles.
I found the silence more dynamic than the CPX although I didn't get the cpx for any amount of time really, but I remember it didn't go as near as well as the Silence.... That being said the CPX was cheaper than this bike.
I was in contact with soco a couple of years ago and they were not easy to deal with at all so I'm out. 👍🍻

The £1 per 100 miles is way off, unless you're on a cheap overnight tariff. The battery is 5.6kWh according to a Google check. If that does 65 miles and the basic tariff is now about 28p per kWh thats 0.28x 5.6 for every 65 miles. I run a electric scooter and an electric car so I'm definitely on board, so don't think I'm anti ev. Even at the latest electricity tariff it's still a cheap way to fuel a vehicle. ⚡⚡👍

@@exeterrider I think it's definitely possible, but you'd need the cheap overnight tariff and maybe town riding only.
So anyone who has this setup it's dirt cheap riding. But then again if you're gonna ride with the speed and acceleration down you'd be better on the Niu nqi with its 3kW hub motor. Now we ARE talking dirt cheap fuelling 😁. Not knocking the silence product at all, looks great. Good luck to em all.

Electricity prices are still high and driving electric vehicles or petrol ones are very comparable when looking at cost £ per mile. Maybe if you have solar panels then it make sense
Electric is still alot cheaper though to run, another good thing is charging at work which is what I did when I had this, I paid nothing 😂🍻👍

Is it fun? I'm banned from Riding bikes on the road (by my wife) but she didn't mention scooters! They also seemed to bring the price down to £6200 so that inside like it!

Although I'm not an E V fan I can see the attraction of something like this in the city limits. I guess they'll succeed or fail due to the same problems that the Chinese face in the UK market...... Dealers and (especially) Parts... 👍

I think if I lived in a.... wait I do live in a small city. And 60 mph is the speed limit, I believe you said for a full charge it was a dollar and that gets 60 miles. That is about 75 percent savings on a petrol vehicle. And would like to see cost of ownership for three years. No oil changes and limited service. If the battery last 6 years as you stated it has 1000 charges. I think you could sell this bike to people with a savings idea. 😊

I know electric vehicles are expensive but this is massively overpriced. That said, I have ridden a Zero SR/F and the the experience was a strange but very good one, the torque is insane. Honestly I just think the whole net zero, electric vehicle thing is a scam, but that's an argument for another day.

electric bikes have their place, and if i get the chance to i'll have a go on one, (with the same curiosity as i would a sinclair c5), but not what i personally want a bike for, and what worries me is that they are trying to force EV's upon us. for city commuting if you can afford one, sure, go for it, but most of the world ain't going that way, and i just couldnt do a 250 mile touring day on any ev bike, even if i were willing to part with the dollars for one, and it's unlikely ever will. GL
Thats right, I never really do 250 mile days tbh, I could make it work with my commute to work.
Epower is great fun and extremely less to produce (fewer moving parts)

Same as all electric replacements Dave, it's big money.
Reality is that from my 6 year research, a decent quality battery like the bmws and Zeros will last over 10 years easy.
I haven't heard of disabling things, and to be fair the quality issues I haven't heard nothing of either.
They're is a bloke in Exeter who has one and he's done over 8000 miles on his with just one issue so far.

I'm not seeing a lot of food couriers switching to ev scooters. If they're not on the ICE scoots then they go for ev bicycles all of which seem to be modified to ride without peddling and at higher than 15mph, all without the need for insurance.
The law on EV's is running quite a way behind what people are doing.
There is one london efluencer who was given one like you have in the video, and of course he raves about it, and how economical it is and all his fellow couriers should get one. Well of course if you're given one it does become more attractive, bloody efluencers 😂
Ha yes, but I honestly like them, I wouldn't have one at the price they are, not a chance, but I find them fun, and the anti vibes quietness is a nice thing I find, 2 up on this one was fantastic as well. I still feel the succulence of such a transportation unit.
But would I have one at that price, nope!

They are very good for getting around the city....but yes ,they are limited to just that really
