About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Growing up in a black family in the late 70s we wasn't allowed to watch All in the Family because of Archie views of black people but I'm now 47 and this is one of my favorite shows to watch before I go to sleep. I love this entire cast. I love how it showed realness of other people thoughts. He didn't hate black people he just had his own weird thoughts of how we are lol. This was good tv and now everyone is so sensitive about everything
Love that you use critical thinking!❤
Carroll O’Connor was a legend. Archie Bunker is my all time favorite television character.
Def 😂 he was the best
He was the best
you know I still so laugh when I see the show
The show was very well cast!!!!!
@@SuiGenerisAbbie it was so true now these days which so relates to life in America now . And so sad that it its still happening and color means nothing but what one hearts
Im surprised at how many people are shocked when I say that we watched All in the family when I was growing up because we are black but we loved it! Archie was hilarious and Edith was so funny and sweet and lost.😂 Just thinking about the episode with Sammy Davis Jr. 😂😂😂😂
Love this show ❤
And the episodes with George Jefferson and Archie are legendary! 😂
When I lived in LA George Jefferson used to visit a technician friend from his show in my building and we met and spoke a few times. He was humble, polite, and soft-spoken. Nothing like his character ! 😅
All In The Family was and always will be the greatest comedy show ever.
I only put the Honeymooners ahead of it.
After I Love Lucy for me.
These old shows are a time when people had humor and weren't offended by everything under the sun. These were good times!
Absolutely right…….we didn’t need a safe space…..lol. I am not only Polish, I am a blond……people used to be able to laugh together….
You're damn right. Now all these tree hugging pinkos can go eat a marshmallow

Absolutely 💯 👍
Main reason why I still watch them, plus, the cast men/women on these shows were OUTSTANDING AND VERY TALENTED ALONG WITH THE SCRIPTWRITING. THAT IS HUGH!!
This world is not the same without Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton! Brilliant comedy legends!
of course hater hate now

What's so funny?
And Bea Arthur!
I know I would have love to meet them in person! I was high school graduate and junior college that the show ran.
This is only a drop in the bucket of his funniest moments.
What an actor. A legend.
Has to be the best acting in a sitcom of all time. Can’t think of anyone who comes close. Costanza maybe
Absolutely, these scenes just scratch the surface
He wasn't always a comedian
He played a Martian in the OUTER LIMITS
I love it when the camera zooms in on his eyes, and he says nothing 🤣
"All in the Family" is the best TV comedy series ever! The entire cast had pure raw talent and comedic timing! The writers were geniuses... RIP C.O. and J.D.!
I agree with ya to a point I say Archie Bunker's Place is the best
3 of the 4 'stars' were good actors. stivic and the director were TRASHoWITZ.
If you ever feel down and you grew up in the 70s just watch a few of these clips and it all comes back! Archie/Carol, God Bless you for bringing so much joy & realism into our lives!!
RIP!
I was 12 when this show premiered. The whole family watched and we laughed and repeated the best lines and laughed again! What a time. America was not so divided and understood humor is just humor. Not a put down.
Archie messing up the insurance name after being annoyed and corrected by a second language nurse is nothing but pure comedy writing.
What would archie say, about pregnant MEN♀️
Who cares.
Every time I watch these, I miss my dad more and more. This was his favorite show. He died in his sleep when I was 16. I never had a chance to say goodbye. But I’ll always remember his laughter at this show.
❤
Also my dad's favorite! He passed when I was 11 😢
My PARENTS were kids in the 70s, but I grew up watching these shows. 😭🤣
Archie’s facial expressions are priceless Hah Hah Hah
What do you get when you have dvd collections of All In The Family and Sanford And Son?
5 days of coming home from work and dying of laughter lol
LoL 😂🤣 Bunker and Jefferson two way different backgrounds with the same exact attitude. This was a great show.♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
I don't care how outdated this show is I love it.
I think the laugh track was over used. I liked Mary Hartmann Mary Hartmann because it had no laugh track.
It is very today in many ways still.
@@obscurelyvague they never used a laugh track. the show was recorded in front of a live audience in the earlier seasons and the finished product was shown to a studio audience in later ones. The laughter and applause you hear were real people.
It’s still a laugh track even if its real laughter.
I don’t see how its outdated. The world was full of nuts and fruitcakes then, and even moreso today
These shows were so authentic, capturing how that generation really acted and talked
Maude: "FDR had charisma!" Archie: "I don't care if he was sick!"
Just bought the "All in the Family" box set today.
I am not a boomer, I am a Gen X. I grew up watching this show and still watch episodes of it here and there. To this day, I find nothing wrong with this shows script. Which means GenX is def the last good generation. We understand a joke. This show would have never made it past the pilot episode today 2022. This show, together with a few others was true talent for comedy. Classic!
I'm a Gen.X too. I have watched every episode of All in the Family countless times and it never gets old to me!!!
Amen... One Gen Xr to another. I took grew up watching this show. Sadly what people fail to realize is that this is not just a show of laugh at, but rather we're laughing at ourselves. Perhaps maybe that's the message behind all in a family
@@richard6502 just like South Park except less crude
I’m a teen and watch all in the family, my mother showed it to me when I was 8. I love it
Happy birthday Carroll O'Connor. You are still dearly loved, & missed.🎉🎁🎉🎁🎉🎁🎉🎁🎉🎁
I wish there was still a show like this. It’s been a long time…
They can't, they don't have the talented actors to do this!
@Kim Kelly not to mention you couldn't say half of this on TV now
Have you ever heard of South Park?
The Snowflakes ❄ couldn't handle an Archie! Bwahaha 😂
Archie Bunker's facial expressions and his hands the way he does it fascinates me whenever Edith keeps on talking
...and the look on his face when something suddenly 'dawns' on him!! 😆😉 .
"Last Will & tentacle" hiccup! Bwahaha 😂👏🏼🥳
The greatest sitcom of all time. Unmatched, and still hilarious.
Married with children is a close 2nd for me
You could never EVER put a tv show like this on the airwaves today! Sad when America 🇺🇸 was much more tolerant way back in the 70’s than it is today!! 🤦🏻♂️🙄
didn't find any of the segments in this video funny...highly doubt this is "unmatched"
@@never_give_up944 if you don't see the relevance of this show, especially today, than you're lost.
@@jonburrows2684 married with Children is great, but the difference between them is that Married's premise is an exaggerated reality. If you grew up in the 60's or 70s, All in the Family struck a chord in the conscience of the Nation.
Archie and Sammy Davis Jr- “The kiss heard around the world”.
I met Norman Lear at the Miami Book Fair on November 22, 2014 while he was promoting "Even This I Get to Experience". I wore an "Archie Bunker for President" t-shirt and got a photo with him with our arms slung around each others' shoulders (like pals). He LOVED the t-shirt and I had the opportunity to thank him from the bottom of my heart for this show (and everything else he's done). One of the highlights of my life... even THAT I got to experience!! Thank you, Norman! We love you!!
14:41 Two grown men raspberrying at each other. Priceless.
Ol' Rob. Still a meathead after all these years 😂
"Fiddle tie"
"That's Fidelity"
😂😂😂😂😂
Happy heavenly birthday to the great Carroll O’ Connor
Laughing is the best medicine god bless norman and Carroll
Brilliant Writers 😂 Thank You Norman ❤
Archie(Carroll O'conner)made the show extremely funny!!!
Archie and Edith were one of the most iconic TV couples ever! Both actors were brilliant. Great characters! The two younger characters were not at the same level.
Totally agree on that.
This is the best series I’ve ever watched when series were actually funny
The absolute greatest show of all time thank God for this particular show
This show and the laughter actually was real and appropriate unlike so many other series
This show is classic and unequalled. I still love it!!
Carrol and red Fox both the two funniest men ever on TV
Happy birthday Carol O'CONNOR! He was already a great actor when he played Archie Bunker in a comedy. He became an icon when he played chief Bill Gillespie in a dramatic series, In The Heat Of The Night. 🥳
Now that brings back memories, I used to work morning shifts at a foundry when I was younger, and where I lived, they would air In The Heat Of The Night at 5 AM, used to watch it every morning before work with my coffee and breakfast bagel.
The interesting thing is that Chief Gillespie was in a relationship with a black woman in one of the later seasons.
*LOVED BOTH SHOWS*
Used to stay up late at night in the 90s watching reruns of Heat of the Night.
"Ahh, Bubba, would you say that thing you always say" ? Sure Chief...
You have the Right to remain silent.....
Right, AITF was the greatest break O’Connor ever got, he’d been a respected character actor for years in films like Point Blank, Kelly’s Heroes, Cleopatra and lots of episodic tv series
Carroll O'Connor and Ted Knight had a few things in common. They were immensely talented veteran Character Actors. They played the Comic foils on CBS Seventies era Sitcoms. Yet they had a sort of bizarre Zen Philosophy all their very own. And interestingly enough both were Supervillains on separate Episodes of "Wild, Wild West" in The Sixties. Incidentally the young Woman who played "Archie Bunker's Niece" and dated "Lionel Jefferson" is an Actress named Miss Dianne Hull considerably renowned for being a Method Acting Teacher.🤔😉🎤🎥📺B.W.
Carroll and Jean were such brilliant comedic actors who could make you laugh out loud with just a stare. The way he delivers the line : “To Mrs Irene Lorenzo….who killed me” still gets me every time I see it.
How did they keep from busting a gut during this show.?? It's sooo funny.
He is such a funny guy
How do you comment on perfection? A timeless classic! Purely the show that paved television history! All in the family should be the number 1 television show of all time! Carroll O’Connor! My favourite actor of all time!!!
Archie Bunker! GOAT of TV dad’s! 👍😎👍
ARCHIE v.s.MAUDE....Classic TV at it's best...There will never be another show quite like "ALL IN THE FAMILY" ever again...
They were absolutely fantastic, hilarious, wonderful, entertaining, etc. etc. 👍👍😂😂😂😂😂
My favorite scenes are when Archie and the Meathead have those ' Intellectual ' discussions. They just killed me with laughter.
Happy Birthday to a sitcom legend!!! 😛🤣💜🍺
Love the response he gave Maude.
When he lost Edith it tore me apart!!😢💎💎💎
I was a young boy when these shows first aired. My opinion many years later, All in The Family is still one of the best shows ever produced.
We need TV producers like Norman Lear today
He is still alive, believe it or not. Just turned a century old this year.
@@619erify wow! We should let him know how much we still appreciate him before he is gone.
Too many snowflakes would get offended
The older I get, the more Archie I become.
Me too brother--100% spot on!! (You have to have lived and gotten knocked around in the "real world" to fully "get" Archie!!)
Not only great acting on all levels, but absolutely brilliant, and I do mean BRILLIANT, writing. Nice job Norman Lear.
I'm glad I bought all 9 seasons on dvd, plus Archie Bunkers place while I could. They don't show this anymore.
Judging Books by Covers is the best episode especially when Archie calls him Roger Bell and says hey Mike why don't you just open a window and we'll watch him fly out. Classic!!
Omg I love Archie non stop laughter 😂😂😂
What's the name of your insurance company? Fidle-ty hahaha. That's Fidelity. Archie was a classic
This was one of the best shows ever.

I'm 66 and still laughing 😂I treasure these reruns, watch regularly, what an epic cast!! 😂
Some of the best stuff ever done. Some of it better than 50 years old now. I know that last scene wouldn’t fly these days! Lol

Funny when arch tells Edith not to put him in a "silver urinal".

How did I not know about this? I’m a millennial so that explains it but despite this I love timeless classics. I only knew about this show because I watch In the Heat of the Night on MeTv every morning at 11am. Once I started watching that I looked this show up and now I’m hooked! I may only be 28 but this has already reached one of my all time favorite shows! This ain’t no boomer humor this is DEFINITELY a timeless classic! Could you imagine all the snowflakes fainting if they heard him talk. That was a time people could laugh at themselves and everyone wasn’t a victim.
You sound like a snowflake. I love this show. It is what is was, different time, different place, now a part of history. I can respect that and get on with my life.
No need to read another comment. It was a time before blame was first thought and respect was non existent.
Exactly!!
The script, the actor was making fun of the racism of America. Did you miss that?
People suck now... specially these woke sjw millennials..😂🙄 ..
One of my favorite shows! ❤😂
It's a shame Carrol and Bea didn't get more episodes together. I think the two of them had the single best chemistry in the entire series. Def number one for me.
Who?
@@chuc5o Archie and Maude.
Naw him and George Jefferson
Archie and Maude were classics...
If they’d made an episode when Edith passed away, I’m
sure she would have treated Archie better. Stephanie’s grandmother was a similar person, a somewhat stuck-up and wealthy person that initially thought Archie was dumb and uneducated, but came to accept him and knew he was better qualified than her son in law that couldn’t hold a job and drunk all the time.
Norman Lear left wonderful gift behind. All In The Family.
All in The Family still funny after all of these years. Should do Ediths funniest moments.
Drunk Archie:
“Last will and tentacle” will never not make me burst out in laughter!😂
“To Irene Lorenzo…*raspberries*

You forgot one: "Forgive me Lord, the Jeffersons was right!"🤣🤣🤣🤣
This show is a classic!🤣
Easily my favorite comedy show in history ~ nothing close to it for me
All In The Family, The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Maude are some of the best shows to ever be aired on tv.
All of the aforementioned were Norman Lear productions.
Master comedian. Remember laughing with my dad watching. Fond memories.
A true classic
The funniest to me is Archie locked in the basement. The look on his face when he thinks God is coming to get him, and he turns to see a black neighbor! He gets down on his knees, and says forgive me lord, the Jeffersons were right!!
That was awesome!
I like Archie's "Bicentennial Minute" diatribe!
Wasn’t the neighbor,it was the fuel delivery guy.
That’s my father’s favorite also!😂
@@Patienthost shoebooty
You missed the best part of locked in the cellar. With Mike and Archie both drunk Arch tells the story when he wore one shoe and one boot to school and the kids called him SHOEBOOTY! 😆😅🤣😂 PS. To clarify the one that I was thinking about is when Archie and Mike were locked in the back room of the bar. It was still pretty funny though. Thanks to the poster that cleared that up for me.
Different episode. They were locked in Archie’s bar.
