About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

The sock and the shoe NEVER gets old !
"Two armpits on the same side", still kills me. Hahahaha
😂😂😂 The sock and sock, shoe and shoe scene was one of the greatest comedy skits of all time 😂😂😂. I crack up laughing every time I see that scene. It’s 50 years old now and still hilarious.
I am a sock shoe person
Everyone puts on a sock and sock and a shoe and shoe...
@@GoldenLight22 Really? "WELL, DONT DO THAT NO MORE!"
😂 Archie.
FYI, the majority of "a sock and a sock and a shoe and a shoe" was adlib!
Mike spilling water in the bed with Archie was another classic, "with little Joey, I'd be an accident, with you its a dishonorable discharge"
This was the best show ever to be on TV.
All four of the main characters had such great chemistry and it translated so well to the screen. I don't have a favorite episode. Each stands on its own merits.
Probably the best show ever aired!
Sammy Davis Jr’s visit is the best episode in my opinion.
Everybody Tells the Truth is mine.
Archie: "You're supposed to eat a little of the coo-zeenie first, then a little of the toi'key." 😂
I love how Archie pronounces words. He is very articulate.
Arch, youve been watching me eat for six years, how come you never said anything till now?
Up to now your fork was always a blur.
😂😂😂😂
That's a balanced meal.
@toms4442 yeah but in his own way 😆
Debris = deebriss
You can't have All In The Family without the Archie and Meathead spats.
To think Micky Rooney was considered to play Archie while Harrison Ford was considered for the role of meathead. I doubt it would have worked I also believe Harrison with O'Conner or Rob Reiner with Micky Rooney would not have worked either no way!
Watching all of these bits strung together, you really can see how they almost are trying to make each other break character or at least they look like they're ready to break out in laughter. It's unbelievable they managed to stay in character as well as they did.
70s was best Era for sitcoms
They must have had FUN, while practicing. : )
The greatest damn television show ever made. 2nd would be the Honeymooners.
Ahhh yes, Archie and the Meathead, possibly the greatest rivalry in TV history
I don't know, Fred Sanford and Esther were pretty brutal🤣
@@amandap6278 Well, Fred and Lamont were almost the black versions of Archie and Meathead.
@@robertdubs9466 archi said meathead instead of DUMMY, and never said" one across the lips" lol
@@vanrajsindha9918 Meathead and Dummy mean almost the same thing,
Good compilation. Just missing the "proper way to get into bed" scene. Truly hilarious! 😂
That was a comedy masterpiece.
Classics like This show will be around for Long time and Beyond.
I liked watching this in the 70’s it was a thought provoking show and right on the edge . People are to uptight to do a new show like this today
They should just put these episodes on thw air again!!
I was waiting for this compilation thank you.
One of my favorite scenes is when Archie yells at Mike for putting mustard on his salty pretzel.
"I tell him not to do it & he keeps doing it...I hope ya choke on it!" 😂
What episode is this if you don't mind me asking?
@@kennethsmith9301 I think it's The Bunkers and Inflation Part 4.
Thank you good sir I'ma check it out!
Archie and Mike Was Funniest as Fred and Lamont
Like I said The White Sanford and Son
Archie Bunker and Fred Sanford Would of been The Funniest thing 🤣 in the world 🌎 to me
Great TV! Great writing! Great characters! Love it!!
They were good friends in real life
Both were staunch democrats
@@cameronevans9516 Fred And Esther on Sanford and Son were also good friends in real life. ( that's how she got the part of Aunt Esther)
This is still probably the best sitcom lol Ever. And frankly it's not even close
Cause the theme of the episodes. The whole 4 5 that led up to the Jeffersons moving in are ? The mets game is my favorite. Archie gives up something he never gets. Yet he is asked by edith to do her 1 thing. The end is classic.
“Would ya feel any better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?”😂😂
Rob Reiner eating that spaghetti & Carol O'Connor looking back @ him. That smile that Meathead gives 😅
The most classic rivalry in sitcom history.
Always loved that a show like this also didn't mind giving us gags like the stuck-in-the-doorway bit, like something out of the Three Stooges.
Love All In The Family So Funny!😂
“ if I wasn’t so mad 😡 at you,I’d laugh like hell!” Best line
The sock and shoe and Archie teaching Mike how to eat, and all the other things that Archie teaches Mike the Meathead just proves that Archie really does love Mike like ason.
I wouldn’t really want to be his son but it’s funny as a comedy.
I agree with Arch about the sock and a sock , then a shoe and a shoe! Lol... And about how to eat a meal!
Archie was right 90+% of the time.
Correct.
@mortsnerd5100 Archie Bunker was 100% correct and my hero and 61 now and still is.😂😂😂
I used to do a sock and a sock, but as I’ve gotten older I do a sock and a shoe because I figure as long as my foot is up there I might as well as take care of all the business. Lol.
@@michaelarnold4687 😂 you cracked me up!😆
Oh, was this FUNNY! But then again, every single episode is a garden of pure pleasure for the soul. This show can make the saddest person laugh hysterically. Love this show for over 50 years!
"If you like symphonies you're gonna love this......raspberry!😅😂🎉❤
I can ALWAYS 😂 watching Artchie , especially when I'm feeling low. I laughed so hard sometimes I cry. ☺️
Also the one where Mike says I should have left a flap. The cot.
I really miss this show, the best show ever!!!!! ALL IN THE FAMILY!!!!
Definitely my all time favorite and Archie Bunker, my hero
The line about "the shoulder and the armpits" is true Comic genius!😂🤣😂👨⚕️👩⚕️💪📺B.W.
Where would Meathead be without Archie? Archie feeds and puts a roof over his head and also has taught him how to eat and dress, not to mention he has given him his only daughter!
...and set Meathead straight about 'fags' :P!!!! SO hysterically funny!
You seem to be forgetting that it was only a temporary arrangement while Mike was finishing grad school. Archie could have learned a lot from Mike about human decency and not being a prejudiced bigot. Archie did seem to mellow over the years. Maybe Mike helped Archie evolve some in his attitudes.
All these years later, I still think about the "sock & a sock & a shoe & a shoe" scene when getting dressed!
Definitely can agree w/ the sock & boot episode! I’ve Always remembered that episode! “And Do It That Way For The Rest Of Your Life!” 🤣😅 10:34
Archie and Meathead's 1 on 1's were always funny. Both very talented actors who changed TV.
Once a meat head is always a meat head
These types of scenes of Archie teaching Mike things just proves that there's love between them.😅😅😅😂😂😂😅😅😅😅❤❤❤❤❤
Wish the scene with Archie and Mike studying together where they talk about the American Indians could have been included.
10:15 to be THAT close to O’Connor as he delivers his lines the way he does: so realistically and committed. It’s like he’s not acting or reciting dialogue. Look at his eyes. I’d be tempted to literally listen to him and miss the cue to my next line. He was scary good at making it look natural. Rue Maclanahan also gave me the hibby jibbies when she had long lines and soliloquies. It’s like she was simply speaking her own mind. No sign in the eyes of reaching for their next line.
This and ediths talk a year ago made mike finally understand archie
I think the one with Archie explaining “how to get into a bed with the flapp” lol was hilarious!!
An attack of Gastriasis
Is it just me, or does Archie remind you of Tony Soprano when he starts talking calm and slowly escalating?
Archie teaching Mike how to eat is one of my favorite scenes! Soooooooo funny!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously-every time I'm dressing, I think about that scene! (Sock-sock/shoe/shoe girl here!) 🤣
The first time I saw Archie stick out his tongue and go well you know I all of a burst out laughing! I dont think I ever saw anything like it and I wonder if it was Carroll O'Connor or the writers that thought that one up! I must have been really needing to laugh or something. Some of Archies other facial expressions crack me up too. We just started watching on Sunday nights here. I didnt know Archie and Edith too could be so funny!
The Thanksgiving episode was when Mike revealed to The Bunkers that he was naked
Arch was right about a couple things, but that sandwich analogy was pure brilliance.
“If I wasn’t so mad at you I’d laugh like hell!”
"If you like symphonies, you'll love this. raspberry." Archie to Mike, soooooo funny!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
14:06. “ There’s too much meat in your heart.”
I thought it was in his head.
AITF awesome 👍👍 show
Mike to Archie in a tender moment when they're both drunk, "Goodnight Shoebooty".😂❤
Put the box down 😂😂😂
How ironic that I'm Polish, and I happen to put on shoes in the morning like meat head lmao
I AM POLISH TOO, BUT PUT MY SOCKS AND SHOES ON LIKE ARCHIE WHOM I GREW UP IN THE EARLY 70'S WITH WHEN I WAS LITTEL AND STILL LOVE HIM! KIMBERLY
Archie is my All American Hero!!!
Now we all know Meathead wasn’t acting on All in the Family. That’s how Looney Tune he is.
I love the episode when they find out that everyone at the loading dock has called Archie a meathead since his first day there 😂 still one of the funniest shows on TV
Archie and Meathead were always at odds with each other until the last time they would see each other before the leave to California
This is still my favorite show.
Was the ever the best show on TV.
Very few sitcoms can make me laugh like Archie Bunker. Big Bang Theory today comes close. I used to also love Carol Burnett and cast.
Proper Title is ‘Archie vs Meathead’
Archie was actually the Meathead
@@jamesthomas9791not at all, people like Mike are everything that's wrong with our country today!!!
Archie was always right.
If you've ever sat at a family dinner table and watched a dear one eat one food at a time, you're going to love this!
"Good night, Shoe-Bootie
"😊
The White Sanford and Son
Only thing missing" I am coming to join you honey..."
@@vanrajsindha9918I’m coming Elizabeth!
BUNKER AND MEATHEAD!
All in the family came first though aired in 71 and Sandford and sons was 72.
Love the 1st clip
That show was so funny no wonders it was so popular back then!! 😂
Who makes a door with a doorknob on only one side?!
Even today, over fifty years later, I think about this scene every time I put on my socks and shoes! Soooooo funny!😂😂😂😂
🤔 I tried a sock & a shoe once! It made me uneven and i fell off the bed. Bwahaha 😂
Archie I gotta have a sandwich, meat head 😆
Back when sitcoms were still funny, lol. Those were the days. 😊
Those were some really good ones.
Archie Bunker American Hero
Archie and Meathead were a comedy team like Abbott and Costello, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. Wonderful!
Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
This show was so funny! Archie and the Meathead butting heads never gets old to me. And the Meathead is STILL a Meathead even now! LOL! The Meathead always ate EVERYTHING. No matter if he was dieting or not, he ate like a government mule! LOL!
WOW!!! They were excellent!!! 👍👍👍
My dad would stare at me at supper as I applied butter, salt n pepper, etc to my food. He was livid!
"Just put something in your mouth!"
"Sure, pops ... when I'm ready"
It was the best!
Two actors and a show that will live in infamy. 🤫🗿✨
Yes it would not last one episode in today world.
Miss the classic shows I'm 51 now , if I were rich I start my own tradition channel
can't you eat like a normal person😂😂😂😂
We need more Mike Stivic´s in this world.
Why would you close the door anyway 0:25
Honestly, Archie should've told Mike that the door locks from the outside.
Meathead, you, at the end, told Archie he was like your father. And he was. I miss my Dad so much.
10:33 10:34 10:35 And Do It That Way For The Rest Of Your Life!
❤ hey the writers of the show was great they was so creative.they gave us scenes that was so heartbreaking and funny that was a show that hit home.i love that show if I am having a bad morning them scenes make it better.they make me laugh because they show that people can get along with different ways of life.they could never copy that show with other actors it would not work because they was the best.❤❤❤❤
Comedy gold...
when archie tells mike that he is suppose to love and respect his father even though his father beat the shit out of him and put him in closet becasue he was his father and hard working is so heartbreaking
The locked in the closet one reminds me of Drake and Josh in the treehouse.
ARCHIE: Hey, Meathead...
MIKE: Yeah?
ARCHIE: Where's the door hole?
MIKE: It goes right there, Arch. See, I drew it with a magic marker.
ARCHIE: You know, you were supposed to cut it out with that there power saw?
MIKE: I'm gonna.
ARCHIE: Oh, really?!
MIKE: Yeah!
ARCHIE: So why don't you go get that there power saw, and do it?
MIKE: Ok, I will. (Walks into wall) I think I see the problem Arch.
ARCHIE: OH DO YA, YA DUMB POLAK?!!!
My ex-father-in-law was Archie through & through. He'd never watch because he'd see the world laughing at him. (Note I said "ex.")
Archie vs mike: battle of the dueling polish men.
Not every liberal is like Mike Stivic and not every conservative is like Archie Bunker.
💯👀💅🏾😄
Oh yes they are lol... absolutely perfect
My whole family was like Archie-and so am I --proud of it, too! We grew up with Archie back in the early 1970's and that iis how it is--Archie is right all the time! :)
@@larrywakeman4371Proud conservative me In middle of everything in life
Mike Was Meat 🍖 Head Lamon was Big Dummy
Great show at that time of my life. Born just right in life time wise. BORN TO LOSE LIVE TO WIN
Mike was always too excitable.
The best scenes were between these two. I can’t stand Rob Reiner’s politics, but in this show he was really great - A very funny and talented actor / director - but a real Meathead in politics.
Obviously you think we care what you think of rob reiners politics but it’s irrelevant
Can’t you just say he is good without pontificating??
@@michaeloppenheimer949
If he did that, he wouldn't the albacord around the neck of the US, and he'd just be a regular lefty, and I don't mean Frizzell.
That's as close to normal, as a Publican can get.
[Sorry Mike, {meathead} but when I see negative comments from an oxymoron, that walks, and thinks his side is the only way, I react, not respond...similar to the style of his party]
@@justplainbrad7713 Can you repeat that in English?
@@mortsnerd5100
The only error, was omitting "be", atwix wouldn't & the albacord.
Actually, you're probably a youthful offender of this era, or, a Publican...which, or both?
People above voting age would understand everything written...they might not like it, but they would underconstumble it.
