- Followers of the channel will no doubt be familiar with this car, the beautiful 350 GT, chassis number 109 and the sixth ever production Lamborghini to roll out of the factory. Having first featured in the third episode on the channel back in January 2020, the car has featured in several episodes as we've documented the careful and loving restoration process of this Italian classic. Iain brings us up to speed on the work to date and one particular task that proved quite the challenge! Huge thanks to Lamborghini historian and expert Olivier Nameche for his invaluable help with this video.
With the comprehensive restoration work now complete, attention moves onto the road and how she drives and handles, with the shakedown mileage accounting for a surprising percentage of a car's restoration process. Iain first treats her to an initial engine tune-up before taking her out for her maiden voyage to see just how well she drives. With all his senses heightened, it's important to identify all the remaining jobs that will need addressing before she's ultimately ready for delivery to the customer.
And before we go, there's just time for an exciting announcement! Many people have been asking about the polo shirts that Iain's staff wear in the workshop and we're delighted to announce that we now have an online store selling these along with baseball caps. Your support for Iain and the channel is very much appreciated.

The girlfriend says are you watching another car video? I said this is not just a car video …this is THAT British GUY!!
Can I just say from an Irishman's point of view that this man is a genius. On top of that he is a very humble & likeable individual. How has he not been knighted....
Good question.
My guess is he's not kinky enough.
Just a guess though.
I could be wrong.
People with a soul can not be used by the puppet masters.
Sings rather well too.
And skilful in building and nurturing a brilliant team around him. You get the impression he's a joy to work for.
@@jonlyons1033 Made me chuckle that one.
"It's a very, very nice car."
British understatement taken to a whole new level.
I rather like when Iain and Harry describe the driving experience as "a nice place to be"
I love that Iain loves driving the car as much as we all enjoy watching/listening to him. A perfect way to spend 33 minutes in his company.
I thinkin this car got inside the original and purest ideas of Ferruccio. Not even in a Miura, neither in a countach.
I remember when I was studying to become a Licensed Aircraft Mechanical Engineer here in Australia at a tertiary technical college, we had to do some aluminium forming and "panelbeating" to show we'd learned the requisite skills, and we started by tempering some aluminium fuselage sheeting back to dead soft. You could fold it up like paper and it didn't crack or tear, it was hilarious!
Those years were the golden age of cars.
An expert with an absolute passion.. Always a joy to watch!
Gorgeous machine! The color is perfect, wow!
I always think, "The engine at idle sounds fine." The it gets tuned and I shake my head in amazement how fabulous it sounds.
"That's ready for a run" I fully agree! The engine sounds as glorious as the car is beautiful. Fantastic work by the whole team that worked on it. Thank you for sharing it with us!
OMG the sound when you rev the engine after tuning it
My favourite video on CZcams. I love all of it.
I live on a small island and use my VR rig to drive; and this 350 is one of my favourite cars to drive. Plenty of power, excellent visibility and perfection to drive at 8/10 of its limits
wow what a car sounds like a jet with the air noise looks amazing sir
The big smile on the road test tells us how good this car is. Thanks Iain 😀
A very interesting Lamborghini, with classic Jaguar XJS style headlights.
What a car!! Another great masterpiece. Btw....when opening the window a little bit, will reduce the wisteling....
best opening sequence of any youtube auto video ever
Dear Iain, I am grinning as much as you when you open those throttles; what a joy and what they are feeling. Is it my age that matches yours, that brings all these emotions out? A wonderful program with much better production then regular TV channels!
Dear Lars, I must be 20 years younger, however when he opened the throttles I had a grin from ear to ear. A Tesla can never ever beat this feeling.
Look at Ian’s face during the test drive - looks like he is 32 years old! Having so much fun! Pure gold this is 👏👏👏
Uh, @TahoeRealm , ahem, that's because Iain IS 32 years old during filming of this video. Hope that clears things up. :D
@@travkatz Right on Travis!😂😂
Brilliant, when Iain drives on right to show how the steering wheel offset isn’t so bad, what a boy 👍😃
Thank you Ian,, while I can listen and watch you tune V12's all day,, its the cars Ian,, the Cars that bring me back,,,
I never miss an episode.. Ian you have anthe audience in the palm of your hand.. and it doesn’t matter what car it is you’re featuring.. total respect and don’t stop the CZcams side of things!!
They just don't make em like that anymore. And the car too...
Winding that engine up to 7000 rpm must be the closest thing to a celestial experience. That sound makes you believe.
Iain. It's a joyride watching this. Even while sitting in a chair in the kitchen. So thanks. Cheers from Denmark.
I love these Cars are lovingly restored and looked after. I just recently noticed that the only DB5 that Mr Bond actually owned (Sean Connery) is for sale later this month if only a Euro lottery win would come up 😁 Some of the classic Cars out there are exceptional this Lamborghini being one. No laptop plugged in here just a artist with a hose pipe and a screwdriver 👍
The fact you showed that road test with the working progress I have my hat off, straight up facts. Lovely to see
Just the best car content on the internet, such a joy to watch. Thank you Iain and the team for producing this amazing content.
After spending decades of getting to know the most coveted cars in the world so intimately, It would be a very intertesting episode to see some of the cars Iain owns personally and why he chose/loves them.
I second. @Iain?
I always love watching you tune the carbs with a piece of hose and screwdriver. My father taught me how to do that as a kid. I know the theory, but I'd be out of my depth on something that complex. Most complex setup I ever got to balance was a Corvair flat 6 with twin 2-V carbs.
I missed the French Motor Show of 1964... I was 8 years old in 🇺🇸.... it was magical at the time when so many stunning cars became reality! Great video here!!!
More pure class from Mr Tyrrell and his band of craftsmen.
I’ve loved the design of this car since my first introduction to Lambo’s back in the 70’s. One of the most beautiful Italian cars ever!
So enjoyable to watch. As a lifelong lover of all that is cars; I cannot tell you how much I enjoy this channel...
This car, in this color, is simply stunning. Today maybe more so than back then. But back then, it truly must have been a revelation to encounter.
Dont forget Visor 😀 great content lain as usual 👏👏
What an utterly beautiful car - and with all that history - as ever it’s the attention to detail in your work that really makes these cars fulfil their design potential visually and mechanically
This is a remarkable car for the time. Those headlights take a bit of getting used to though
Wow that opening. It truly did not need words, or anything else. Beautiful!
Theses videos have the same level of passion & professionalism as the outstanding cars coming in the workshop had back in the days. Everything here is superior class. Classic car videos brough to a never-seen before level. And still with humility and simplicity.
350 GT is the most underrated car design ever.
How can there be anything better than this? There's never been any content any better ever made, anywhere, on any platform. If it can't be me, it might as well be Iain. A thousand thanks for letting us into your world.
Just top notch restoration work here. A lucky owner to receive this beauty back when you re done.
I'm still smiling as I always seem to do after seeing beautiful cars n learning a little about them, cheers.
Absolutely gorgeous. What an amazing job. This car should be in a movie.
I thought the Scaglioni photo was gorgeous as well.
What an absolute privilege to be allowed such broad access to the restoration of this very important automobile and all with the wonderful pearls of knowledge oozing continuously from the very generous Iain Tyrrell. And what a group of skilled craftsmen you have in that garage! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It was undoubtedly one of the very best episodes of TCW. Wow!
Best episode. I’d be crazy nervous driving with that wheel alignment, just need to tweak the tie rods. The carb adjustment, I could sense Ian’s excitement wanting to get it on the road. Like therapy for me.
Seeing the master of classic restoration witchcraft that happy about the result of his work is extra special
Yes, when he stomps on it a bit and then he goes " Aah, aah !" 🤗 with a big smile, you know he's happy !
What a Great Video, watching the Master Shinning his Gift !
Beautiful !
Thanks Iain
Craig's work is really outstanding. Its all good but that interior is wonderful.
.......even made Iain speak fluent Italian, truly must be a brilliant car !!
Iain: trust your people. Of course they're not natural or trained presenters but just let them talk and sort it out in post-production. I'm sure they've interesting things to tell and I'm sure your audience will appreciate it. Don't overmanage the conversations.
Totally agree, although i must say, Iain already is very respectful to his employees.
One of my all time favourites.
Watching Ian tune a heritage engine perfectly with a bit of hose pipe and a flathead screwdriver blows my mind every time.
Your shows always make me feel somehow privy to confidential information. I suppose that's why you have become so popular, and none more worthy than your good self, Iain, sharing as you do the seemingly endless fountain of knowledge and experience you possess.
I can't wait to see the static display.
I really love the fact you present the car on its first shakedown, snag list too. It shows your dedication to perfection.
Artisan quality restoration at its finest, never apologise for you and your teams talents Iain.
Please keep the videos coming and I like many, wish for more and more, they are compelling viewing. 🏆🏆🥇🥇
Nice to see it done old school by feel and sound in such a high tech time
The most beautiful Lamborghini right out of the gate. Imo.
Great to see you back, only 5 mins in fantastic Iain, magnifico 👌🏼
Utterly gorgeous car. Thank you Iain for another great video.
Wow, absolutely stunning, thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Simply a lovely video. As always. Thanks a lot, enjoyed every single second.
Amazing job. A beautiful piece of art. Congrats Iain!!!
Sublime car and restoration
One word - STUNNING!
Fabulous. True craftsmanship.
Always a treat to have a new video from the classiest channel on YT!
Finally Thanks Iain👍
Love your channel😍
Every second of these videos is pure enjoyment! Absolutely love your work, Iain! Sincere greetings from Berlin
Yet another throughly riveting video! Thank you very much Mr Tyrrell.
Yep, that's a nice done car. Wonderful. I love the sound of these engines.
Another brilliant highly watchable video. Thank you Iain.
I love listening to a master of his craft.
Thanks for the history lesson Mr. Tyrrell.
Iain, you are the definition of gentleman. You should be made a role model for millions of young men to follow
I’m guessing that fix for the window rubbers will now become the standard repair if original parts are unavailable.
The master at work with the rubber hose and screwdriver always makes me smile, looks really silly but definitely works
Same way my old defender window frames were sorted on New Rubbers. Brute force bending
Such a beautiful car, and the colour choice works a treat; and what history! Priceless.
art on weel. La Caravaggio of car.
Thank you for walking us through the tuning process. I could hear the changes on each cylinder!
Ian thank you! Always a lesson to be learned watching you.
The Master awakes and takes us to the light.
Stunning work of art in sound and vision and that colour! Great work again, Iain!
Fantastic Iain, thank you once again. Best videos on CZcams👍👍👍👍🍷
What a great video Iain! So special to see this early production car and the beautiful work that your team has completed to bring it back to life! So grateful that you share these stories with us - the best in YT! 👏👏👏👏👏🙌
Always look forward to your shows definitely one of my favorites
Great to see you out on one of your test drives in this car, brightened up my drive home after a day working on my car, keep up the great work Iain👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the great virtual ride. I hope there we'll be finishing ride soon. I would love to see an Islero sometime.
Quite frankly, these original V12 front engine touring cars are so much more interesting to me than what came later.
The content in these videos is just second to none. Well done and thanks for sharing.
The shake down of a fresh rebuild is the difference between done and completed. Nice.
Another great video! Thank you Iain👍
One of the best channels on youtube if you are interested in classic cars. I love it!
Tuning the carbs was wonderful to watch and listen to. A real artist. Anyone can turn a wrench, but knowing how much to turn is the mastery. What gets done in your shop is an utter delight. Cheers.
Fantastic installment! So fun to watch. 🫶
That sound is amazing!
Hey Iain. Don’t forget to fix the sunvisor as well.
Your privilege for driving such a historical vehicle is simply down to you and your team’s attention to detail.
Also it is great how your customers are car lovers as well and are happy to oblige in allowing their cars to be filmed for our enjoyment as well.
Yes, thanks to the owners.
Such wonderful content, such a clever bunch of guys, making history and restoring our motoring landmarks for us all to admire, a real pleasure to watch, thank you!
Those blasted Veglia instruments, though, Ian.
Iain - you can add "tighten sun visor" to your list of things to touch up. 🙂 Lovely car. Was especially fun to watch the fuel light flashing on and off as you drove - my brother's old FIAT 124 Sport used to entertain me as I watched the needle slosh back and forth as he drove. 😁
I was worried that was oil pressure glad to know it's just Italian fuel level 😀
@@paulaus it would say olio if it was oil
I always regret not checking my volume before playing, except this time. That 1st minute audio was astonishing. Will watch the rest after playing it back a few times!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you tune those carbs!
What a superb project, fascinating to follow the process. The honest portrayal and good humor of the niggles and issues and the insightful history is the reason this channel is at the top of my viewing list.
You and your people have done excellent work on this. Looks beautiful.
