In 1965, while a student at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey CA, I had a 1965 MGB. I remember coming across a red 250 Lusso many times in Carmel. I always had the top down and more than once found myself following it and enjoying the sound of the exhaust and the smell of the fumes.
What a fantastic car! No brand can compete with Ferrari when it comes to these GT cars!

An absolute pleasure to watch and listen to you explain this gem in the 250 family. The noise alone is part of the price tag I say.
I really appreciate when owners don’t overly restore these cars. I prefer to see / keep the exterior / interior original when possible. We don’t need plastic surgery, some visible mileage isn’t a bad thing! Would love to see a tear down on a 250 engine (unless I’ve missed it)

Nice share, thank you! The central bonnet vent on the Lusso were apparently factory sealed closed, I was wondering if any owners had perhaps modified them for purpose?

Beautiful car 1964 not 1963 first one came out in 1962 for the Paris motor show and it came out officially in 1963

Nice car, not one I am familiar with. Wonder if it influenced the E-type design. I see some similarities.
The E-Type appeared in 1961, so slightly earlier.
At 8 mins sounds like a 5 speed!
Late 1950's and 60's Ferraris have so much style and elegance with glorious small V12s. Todays cars are fat, ugly and vulgar by comparison.
