He's SUCH a dad. I love that he did the voice for Simone Geirtz's "Proud Parent Machine". Adam got emotional when she asked him.

@@salaltschul3604 Yup. In “human years” (or *humanoid* lol, whatever), that’s about 5 years - so he’s just a tiny little kid still.
And Yoda - who’s like 900 years old, or at least was during the Prequels at least - would then basically be about 90 years old, again in humanoid years. So reeeeally old.
Basically just divide their age by 10, and there you go.

Why "that *seems* to float" ? A pod that actually floats !
Could be easy if he just uses some fishing line. With shark wire, i've hung some pretty heavy items. It does have to be changed over time tho, it loses structure and snaps.

Yes, you do see his feet in the show. Once when Mando picks him up to get him away from the ship's buttons, and a second time when he's sitting with the kids in the fishing village. :)

My friend got me the $20 doll from Costco, and even though it’s nowhere near as beautiful and realistic as this, I still reacted with the same amount of ridiculous glee that Adam had. HE’S JUST SO CUTE, I’D DIE FOR HIM.
The best thing about this channel is to see Adam geek out.

It really got me to see Adam put on the Mandalorian helm and just point the face-plate towards the puppet! I've not seen the show, full disclosure, but YOOOO, that image was just PERFECTION. MAN. REALLY got me in the feels!
Your utter delight is the sweetest thing to watch. It's how I feel when I look and play with my animatronic hasbro version, the Build a bear, and the cute baby yoda with the bean bag body. I just cannot get over how lovable The Child is. And this life sized version looks incredible. Part of me wishes it was also a softer silicone so you could snuggle it. ❤️

I don't think so, really. I think of it like a museum piece. Not much needing to pose, and it's not very surprising to see for a Sideshow piece, as they're main thing is in statues and maquettes. Zero complaints from what I see here. And getting it from the CGI source of Legacy Effects... no brainer.

Oh my heart was skipping beats while you opened The Child! I was giddy with you!💕💖 I coveted the piece since the presale knowing it was a static piece. I believe it better than the competitor. I loved The Child from the announcement. Well priced for a museum piece. Even with the multipayment option. Due to a family member illness just couldn’t afford him this year. Please enjoy him! I was happy to feel the thrill of the unboxing with you. My eyes are still teary. Soooo cute! 💖🥰

They are selling one at Costco, it's a lot cheaper looking but I thought about getting it and modding it to make it look more like ths one... yeah it's an adventure but still, might be interesting to do. I made some doll mods so this is just a big doll when you think about it.
That does sound like a fun project. This is almost $400 lol. If you can get 90% there for like 40-50% the cost, I think you'll be ahead.

I can imagine that there is going to be a lot of fans lactating as they unbox and cradle "the Child" when these ship. You could see Adam just wanting to hold it like a baby. Must be a blast having him as a father, imagine the wild and crative childhood that would be.

Think my wife wants Baby Yoda because our children have grown up, I fact I know she does. She is asmatic and we can't have hairy pets so looks like I will have to try and save up and get us a new child.

The Sideshow version looks impeccable and totally worth the money if you have it.
But if you are on a limited budget, Costco has a way cheaper version. Yes, it is not as detailed as this one, but it is pretty cute and as soon as you unbox it you still want to cradle it like a child.
This is not at all like my kids. This one will stay put, require no feeding, changing, or reasoning with. It's a dream baby.
There’s one you can get on Amazon for about fifty bucks that talks and moves its ears and closes its eyes and “uses the Force”. It’s frigging adorable.
I too love the smell of vinyl, acetone, acetate, car paint, printers ink. I worked in the printing trade, and rebuilt and restored a couple of 90s cars/4x4. You sometimes miss the smell of those chemical smells, and walking into a paint department of a DIY store takes me back to going home with a smile on my face.
Awesome Adam I can hardly wait for the mandalorian tomorrow you build some of the most amazing things I am entranced with your builds and have have an incredible respect for your knowledge of your tools and your experience in your career especially with ILM I've been a big fan of yours ever since you were on mythbusters, you Jamie tory grant and carrie built some amazing experiments, my condolences for the lose of grant he was truly a gifted engineer he will surely be missed. Thank you for all the wonderful work that you do and what you have done for so many people who want to follow in your footsteps stay safe.

Adam did mention in a video remembering Grant Imahara that Grant had worked on the Child. I wonder what Grants contribution was?
Adam should hide a picture or tribute in the floating carrier of Grant when he makes it.
Grant made his OWN animatronic puppet of the Child, but he didn't work on the original for the show.

I told myself last year that I was done with buying statues as I've run out of room for them and I've spent a good bit of money. But I couldn't resist when they showed this and I had to preorder it. Seeing you get excited makes me glad to know others (esp someone I respect so much) likes the same things I do (edit- I do wish the arms could move, everything else about the child is perfectly made, not that unmovable arms is a flaw, just missed opportunity)

Regarding his ears, on the show the inside of his ears just look green when he’s in normal indoor or dim lighting. You can only see the pink in them when he’s lit from behind. It’s a very convincing effect. If I had to guess, the ears and possibly the whole head are moulded in pink silicone then painted green over that.
For the actual puppet, you’re half right. The ears have pink sandwiched inside the green outer layer. Veins and capillaries are painted on the inside of the ear and then are buried in paint tinted the skin green. Then painted topically so you only see the warm undertones when back lit🙌

Don’t forget that Adam and the tested crew already had a behind the scenes look at the prototype, it makes perfect sense that they would also get one of the first production pieces a little ahead of the public
The release date is set by marketing. I absolutely guarantee Adam (and likely numerous others) have had this in hand for weeks already. This video you're watching here is fully shot and produced, not something they would do if it arrived on their doorsteps yesterday or today.
The video itself has probably also been ready for days or weeks, but they have an embargo, just like movie reviews. To complain about them having it before you is the equivalent of complaining that someone like Ebert and Siskel got to see movies weeks in advance. That's just the way it works.
