One of the best matches i have seen in years, Argentinas total control win a 2 - 0 lead during 80 minutes of the games just for Mbappe to somehow score two goals in two minutes, making the tension skyrocket, then Messi with what could have been cherry on top of his world cup career, scoring the winning goal for Argentina, only for Mbappe yet again scoring with a penalty, that Dibu Martinez save at the last second, and a final complete control by the Argentinians at the penaltys..., man what a match

The big difference was the subs though. Once ARG started tiring, France's insane bench is what got them back in the game. Being able to take off players like Griezmann and bringing on Real Madrid starters is just the best luxury. I feel like Scaloni waited a bit too long to bring on Lautaro, but when I saw him running (like he was in quicksand), maybe his fitness just wasn't on point.
Argentina just doesn't have anywhere close to the quality of France when it comes to depth. Even with France's many injuries.

This world cup was my “first”, so I wasn’t too attached to any particular nation. But I wanted Messi to get his, so I was rooting for them. I wanted the game to go into ET, and for there to be a shootout.. for an Argentine win. Boy this one feels like an instant classic and I’m glad I started here - great play all around, and great coverage all around!
France couldn't figure out the press. I didn't wake up until mbappe's second goal. Then the game took off. What a game. Classic.

The game was exciting. The game had a ton of goals. The game wasn't great, though. It was one of the most one-sided finals I've seen (and I've been around in '98), and the fact that the scoreline doesn't represent that makes it even worse. Imagine France winning despite being the worse team for 95% of the match.
First match this wc? Barely any of the better teams have won, but alright.
Ever seen Real Madrid playing in the champions league? Sleeping for most part of the game and all of a sudden just bang bang bang! and they take the game away from you. The thing with football is that there's no one way to win a football match and not always a team playing better football for most part of the game wins it.
This game felt like a final arc in Blue lock. Like god damn just some shots and a beautiful game!

This tournament was particularly stunning with so many remontadas and surprise performances. France were corpse-like for over 70 minutes and then came to life as did the game.

Such a beautiful match. I just started the video but I wanted to note that France played without some of their best players. No Benzema, Nkunku, Pogba, Kante, Lucas, Kimpembe. This would have painted a different picture and no doubt would have scored 4 or more tonight yet real life doesn't work that way and Argentina were able to play better this way. No point in crying over spilled milk but nevertheless both sides made it happen tonight with an unforgettable match. Argentina played amazing moving up front and arguably my favorite team moving up since they looked sharp and calculated and you can't help but be impressed. Nice to see Messi get his World Cup. A player like him deserves it.
