Lionel Messi has left Barca to move to PSG following a tearful goodbye with the club that he loves, and has helped him to develop into one of the greatest football players of all time. He is on his way to reunite with Neymar, and join the Paris super-team. This is Barcelona’s fault, and Paris Saint-Germain have capitalized on it.

Hope you noticed Floporta playing politics by making fake promises to make Messi stay. He earned the trust of Messi and fans, and then, we see that he had already decided with the board to offload him. How did that happen. First, Barça should have gotten Messi contact sealed before going for players like Aguero. Second, they rejected the cvc deal well and good. But what was that for? They want another source of a large income named Super League. Both factors played a huge role in Messi leaving. Nothing but a backstabbing on the GOAT. Also Laporta diverts the blame on La Liga who were merely following rules and regulations. Just a novel version of Bartomeu, but criticizes higher authorities rather than his players who are unfortunate victims of his greed for money. If he really wanted to save Barça from going broke, he would rather have invested on the productive La Masia rather than signing washed up players albeit for free. Even psychological specialists analysing his speeches seem to agree to the fact. You can check reliable sources like onefootball, goal and so on... Bartomeu started it, Laporta finished it.

I suppose in all of this the elephant in the room is that the top footballers get paid too much money full stop. I know a playing career is usually a short one but you can’t have a situation where the clubs are in such a dire financial position because their players are earning so much money. Also, the contacts are so expensive that the clubs can’t sell players as no one is willing to meet the transfer fee or indeed the wages.

It sadden me at first but if you really think about its a good thing for Messi and football lovers. Barcelona has regressed football wise for the last couple of years and it is truly an injustice to have Messi play with such mediocre talent around him. Messi is still the best and he deserves more to show for his exploits. Honestly speaking Barcelona doesn't have resource to build a team to complement him in the short term at least, so therefor for him and us football lovers to get the most value out of what he has left football wise, was for him go to a team that was already at a level to best complement him to further to achieve what his talent and exploits deserve. What was happening at Barcelona particular in the last season was painful to watch, Messi was giving it his all with no capable supporting cast to achieve anything substantial. Its is going to be beautiful to watch Messi play along other world class talent like him and I'm sure he will be duly rewarded for his exploits in terms of success.

We need a good reorganization across the board and need solid structure at La Masia. Need some good reliable midfielders. We never really replaced Xavi and Iniesta once they left. We have talents in the academy that can fill their place, but need managers who can bring out the best in them. It's a tough uphill task, but Messi leaving will surely fire up those conversations in the higher management. Also, need a very organized wage structure in the team as well. Also big up for La Liga for not only setting up a wage cap system in coherence with revenue generated but also sticking to their guns . Meanwhile PL clubs and PSG are funneling in wages from funds labelled as "sporting development" even though their revenues have gone down considerably

It will be interesting to see messi and ramos on the same team. Ramos used to beat him up merciless, and messi in return used to humiliate him. Let’s see how the chemistry between mbappe neymar and messi can flourish, and don’t forget di Maria and paredes being Argentinian helps a lot as well, such as Mauricio. In terms of commercial revenue obviously PSG are going to make tons of money, but, it took time for the galácticos to win anything, so it can also happen. The pressure is on them, and especially messi. Interesting to see if Man City would win this year the ucl, if messi would think otherwise.

One point though for those who think he could have played for free. That would have been unlawful in Spain. In fact, there is a law in Spain that says that as an employer you cannot pay a salary that is less than 50% of the employee's previous salary. It would also not work if there were monthly contracts, each 50% lower than the previous one, since the basis for legal supervision is the employee's annual tax contributions.
