While everything was crazy going into the World Cup, the football played and underdog stories were some of the best I’ve seen. Definitely will remember this World Cup for awhile
Even being an Argentinian fan , I feel sad that worldcup s over. I wish like going back to group stages when every team n every player was there. 4 games a day that s the daily dose of happiness. One of the best wcups and we have already given farewell to many legends

@@DrZaius3141 and probably the last team to go into a World cup as hot as Argentina was Spain in 2010 and they also lost their first game but went on to win the competition regardless of that.

An amazing WC. My friend picked Morocco as one of his 4 teams, because he'd visited and wanted to show them some love. Little did he know Morocco (and correctly choosing Argentina) would seal the deal!

I had uraguay in 3rd place. Belgium in 2nd and Argentina winning
Belgium and Brasil were my worst predictions on teams going far. Called Germany going out. Called Spain falling short early. Called England out against France. Had Brasil winning it all with France getting 2nd place. And Argentina out in Semi Final against Brazil. Decent bracket, but I made the mistake of doubting the GOAT and Scaloni. Also, by far the best WC final of my lifetime. Amazing game. Even if I lost money betting on France, it was worth it. The GOAT got the only award missing in his long list of accolades.
WC 2014 and 2010 were better in my opinion

More exciting matchups like spain vs portugal,the good old germany vs england and argentina,ghana beating usa,paraguay beating japan,brazil vs netherlands...In my opinion 2010 tournmanet was better but the 2022 final is the best

Adrian, first of all, among all the football analysis channels I follow you were the only one who predicted Argentina to be the eventual champions. Not only you were correct in guessing the name of the winners, you were correct in predicting why they would be the champions. You focused on 2 major strengths of Argentina, UNITY and FLEXIBILITY. In hindsight, we can all say that UNITY played a huge part in getting back up from the defeat against Saudi Arab, however, Scaloni's tactical flexibility was the key to this success. For me, it was also not only the wish of Scaloni to tinker with different formations and tactics, more about how all the individual players were able to cope with various systems. For sure, not all tactics looked excellent, but they were effective at the end of the day.
Huge shout out to you for focusing on the Flexibility side, especially when you think Argentina only used to play with either 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation for the last 3 years. In this one month, they added 4-3-1-2, 3-5-2. 5-3-2, and 4-2-2-2.

I won my office pool! Thanks to my pick since the beginning of the WC to win it. I was second most of the tournament until the end when I had Argentina and first place had France and I won. I love you videos and your world cup content was amazing!!! Hope you enjoy your holidays with family and we'll see you in the new year :)

Just a quick suggestion: Maybe have the footage of your predictions edited to be in black and white, or inside a smaller border. Just so we can tell when its current you vs past you speaking
I love how everyone forgets that something unpredictable will happen with 2 or 3 teams EVERY SINGLE WORLD CUP. While Morocco was a surprise, a weak team getting that far, was actually not.
I wouldnt say that they are a weak team since they got 4th place in the world. More like an unexpected team. Most of their players play for european teams so their level is higher than the average african players.
@@froglifes6829 I believe this is the 2nd time ever they made it out of group stage and the last one was in 1986. And while I don't think that De Bruyne is a big deal, Belgium also has players in European leagues and even in some of the top 15 or 20 strongest teams. Morocco got 4th place this cup, doesn't count, they were weak before the cup, they even changed the boss recently and were not the African champions.

@@froglifes6829 It matters because you are missing my point lol. I'm saying that it's common for a team with no records of being very good before the WC, to achieve a lot and surprise the world... the thing is that we don't know which one will be, but there is always one
This unpredictability is why I absolutely loved this world cup and from the 5 world cups I have watched so far in my life (since 2006) I will say this was the best one so far and I know recency bias is a real so maybe that is why I am leaning towards it so I don't know let us see what happens in 3.5 years.
Anyway, now back to Europa league 😅
Thanks for doing a reaction to your predictions. I think you got a lot right, but it's always hard to predict certain things, especially because at the middle level I think it's becoming a lot closer in quality with Asian and especially African teams making strides (and I don't want to downplay them, but having watched a turgid African Cup of Nations fina that was very defensivel I did wonder how they'd go).
Having said all this I'm not sure just getting the top 2 in the group stages right is enough, where you said a team would finish first and they finished 3rd or even 4th you needed to be hot harder (sorry, it has to be said). It is almost impossible to predict these things though so I would be happy with your predictions. It's very difficult to think that teams like Belgium and even Germany, who haven't been at all good for a while now, will lose to and go out to smaller countries in footballing terms. There isn't much between Germany and Japan for example, and I've always thought that Martinez has had his shortcomings whilst overseeing a very talented group of players.
Maybe going into future tournaments unless new exciting players come through, or a quality manager/coach takes over and rejuvenates a national team, the myth of some of these countries will be less of an automatic choice over lesser known teams. It's still not easy though even with this in mind.

Best World Cup in the last 30 years easy. Happy for the dark horses and there were many. Was really hoping to see more from countries like Ecuador and Serbia, Senegal, who were stacked. The drama and chaos these games caused....just amazing for the sport.
Japan went "Blue Lock".Croatia Locked it down. Morocco turned into Colonizers. It's awesome to have Three Cinderella Stories in this World Cup.

9:24 The coach of Morocco totally changed the formation of Morocco due injuries we had. we haven't played with our two main center backs Aguerd and Saiss, Mazraoui was injured, Hakimi didn't give his 100% because he was injured and exausted too, Selim Amallah was not playing...we played 5 at the backs, like of course we gonna lose what do you expect, imagine we played with the same team and formation we did against Portugal Spain and Belgium and Canada, we would of at least had a draw against France and Bono would save us again in penalties.
Yeah, I was able to get every winner of the knockout stage, except for the games won by Croatia/Morocco. Thankfully I was still able to correctly guess the winner and runner up of the world cup.

I too got 9/16 for the groups but got 7/8 ro16 correct, 3/4 quarter finals correct, both semi finals correct as well and of course the final too. 71% correct in the craziest world cup ever is pretty good
My firm did a World Cup sweep. 32 people (inc myself) chipped in 15 and got randomly allocated a country. $300 if your team finished 1st, $120 if you finished 2nd and $60 if you finished 3rd.
I got France. Genuinely thought I’d be out in the group stages or Round of 16s cause ya know World Cup curse and so many of France’s top players were out with injuries. Did not expect them to go all the way to the finals.
For me, it was a win-win situation cause either I won $300 or $120 and Messi got to end his career with the World Cup. I was actually rooting so hard for Argentina in the final match. 😂

I did watch, and in a previous video I spoke about how luck only takes you so far and you have to do the rest. It's okay to admit luck against Belgium (Lukaku and his 4 chances to eliminate) and Brazil (no shot on target for almost two hours and it was a deflected strike to tie it). Everyone needs luck, everyone has some, it's okay to admit Croatia had some, it's not a slur.

Or in other view if Mbappes hat trick is skill, Lukakus chances are lack of finishing quality or bad form. On paper they are better but performance wise Argentina were obviously better. Did you really think slapping Costa Rica and Korea Republic would make Spain or Brazil favorites to win. The brazilians obviously cared more about choreography than winning the WC. As for Spain playing Morata up front and choosing to leave Gerard Moreno and Borja Iglesias home was a load of crap
