Halloween originated in Ireland. This is more authentically Irish than any Louis walsh band.
Bambie Thug.
I actually met Bambie Thug at a Eurovision after party in Dublin city centre the same night they won the national selection. They’re really nice. 😊
She
@@nope2515 - nope, they. Bambie is non-binary. Stephen, we probably saw each othere there!! And I couldn't agree more. Bambie is a sweetheart
The song is perfect on its own, it just needs a bigger stage. I hope Bambi gets all the resources to give this song the wow moment it deserves! Well done Ireland 🇮🇪 Lots of love from Australia.
It also wouldn’t lack some backing vocals
By the way i love it 😊😊😊😊
Best wishes bambie ❤❤❤❤❤
Favourite Irish entry of all time. Love how Bambie used Irish culture without making it gimmicky and kept it unique to her witchy pop style. Her dress is styled after Irish dancers, the Ogham symbols on the backing dancers and walls, the screeching singing in parts sounds like traditional Irish creening which is used in Irish mourning songs. She doesn't miss the details, and Eurovision is all about the details. Absolutely fabulous performance.
Are the dancers Bánánach?
Bambie uses they/them pronouns :)
Great if you're a satanist👹
this is the type of song that's made for a big stage, and i feel like it'll be done more justice on the eurovision stage than the late late show stage, super excited to see what'll come of this !
Go girl,,, bambi ul will make Ireland 🇮🇪 proud and ur county Cork. I'm not frm cork. Follow ur heart and dreams. Ul be big one day. This is what our country needs for Eurovision song contest MUSIC LIKE THIS.
Wishing Ireland all the best. This is a risk worth taking.
Amazing Ireland 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Eurosong was so good this year with Patrick as the new host made a big improvement along with the better stage/studio along with the general set up
Then you did not see Luxembourg 😂😂😂. Eurosong is a tragedy in comparison 😮
Agreed. The former presenter made Eurosong/Eurovision look like a joke. This one took it seriously while being funny, which is in my opinion way more appreciative. It was fun to watch.
Im so glad the UK can vote for Ireland. This is so much better than your entry last year. I love it !. I will vote for this in the Semi final 🎉
Also co-written by Sam Matlock of Wargasm and Cassyette, it's got the best of UK nu-gen behind it
We need to speak to debon real quick, nothing got to do with those jury votes
He has a lot of explaining to do
@@magicwiccan1 Please just get off his case and listen to William's explanation of the situation.
@@devenokearney8984what hapened?
@@paweloelo He was on the international jury that gave the boyband 12 points and people are funnelling their anger on to him. Watch William's reaction towards the end of the video for more info.
People keep assuming that he voted in a certain way, when the jury result is the combined result of FOUR PEOPLE. Don't shoot the messenger....
Also this song is so interesting in Irish history. The ancient Irish symbols and language in the background and on the demons, Irish pagan roots, many of the old scary fairytales comes from Irish mythology. And we created Halloween through out pagan roots, its actually kind of genius
This is such great insight. Thank you for sharing!!!
Bambie Thug... she's definitely top10 material. Good luck in Malmö. Greetings from Ukraine 🇺🇦❤️🇮🇪
This was my winner before national. I never thought they'd brought something theatrical, it was beautiful. I love their voice also.
Just think of the glow up Brooke had from Eurosong to the ESC stage, Bambie will do the exact same thing and I feel there’s a strong opportunity for Irelands best staging ever, and best result since 2011. ❤
Europeans don't vote for Ireland anyway.
I don't like the occult stuff tho it makes me feel uncomfortable. Also the Satan Star and stuff. It's just a No I am not hating the song but the performance a huge NO
@@SC-bq7ob okay
@@SC-bq7ob it's technically not a satanic star but a pagan star. the satanic star is upside down but this one is right side up. The five points of the star are supposed to represent the five elements and in general the star represents harmony in nature, compared to the satanic star which turns that harmony upside down and represents chaos instead.
@@SC-bq7ob I think what @imme265 said really explains further what Bambie was getting at with the very limited resources available on the late late show. By the time it come to Malmö I can really envision a wonderful stage show. I hope that despite Bambie’s brilliant artistic vision, they and RTÉ employ a creative director with a strong ESC track record in order to really rein in and polish off the staging concept. I think the staging for this song can actually be quite simple and intimate, focusing on lighting, Bambie and their wonderful costumes, and by the end of the song very chaotic with erratic camera angles and cuts as the song crescendos
If you compare the performances, this was EASILY the best...plus the staging and live vocals were actually good! Eurosong definitely improved compared to last year. I get goosebumps from this song and I seriously think Bambie could win! You have to remember: THIS IS IRELAND. Ireland are sending THIS?! This is a revolution in terms of the song, staging and the non binary artist! Ireland needs to send a risk but THIS IS IT!
Love it ❤
12 points for 🇮🇪. They are just AMAZING. Check out their other creative genius too. 💚🍀💚🍀
The creative here is WOW. I love how cohesive styling, choreo and background were.
I can't wait to hear your reaction to the official video! I think it made the transition from the hard hitting part to the more dreamy chorus a lot smoother/clearer and I'm wondering if they can find a way to bring that to the stage! 💕
DOOMSDAY SLAY!!!
I'll vote for Ireland in May!
Как по мне это одна из лучших песен которая когда либо была представлена на евровидении
Another thing to note is people seem to think this song will alienate older age groups etc, I played the studio version for my parents, both over 60, without mentioning it was an Irish song in contention for Eurovision, and they loved it. My uncle also over 60, who usually hates anything like this, saw the live performance during Eurosong and immediately said ‘that’s great, that’s the song to send, you can’t look away from it.’ Bambie themself said to give the Irish public more credit, and Bambie was right. The public gave this song 12 points, and now they’re on their way to Malmö!
That's class to know. I love it when multiple generations can vibe together both past present and up and coming 💕🥳🪩
The problem is there are already a lot of similar songs this year.
@@Maria_muziekjes I keep seeing this comparison…but sonically, all of the ‘witch’ songs are completely different. The average viewer is not going to be aware of this witch message that Raven/Bambie are pushing, and Justyna hasn’t even been officially selected yet :)
It puts a smile on my face when I see comments like "people in their 60's" even like it....we grew up listening to Punk music. Bambie's a walk in the park😂. Great song, great performer. Hope they do well.
Bambie Thug is an artist, give them the budget for proper staging and they will absolutely slay the competition, simple as. To be able to construct a winning performance on the Eurosong stage with a song like this was impossible, they made it possible.
Doesn't stand a chance to be honest
Them? Is she part of a band?
@@Maidaseu She is non-binary. That's why Wiwibloggs and commenters use they/them pronouns for Bambie.
@@Maidaseu They're non binary.
@@Anihalas Who? Her backup dancers?
I love this from Lithuania❤❤❤
Ready for the left side of the board in the final ❤❤❤❤❤
Climb high, Ireland!
Oh definitely
I love it. I hope they make the staging amazing. Extra dark for the dark parts, and extra pink and fluffy for the lighter parts.
On first listen I hated it, but after watching reaction videos, I now love it.
Same here.
We respect this journey!
I was team Ailsha until the live show. I loved 'Go Tobann', but the performance was like a school production (and I don't mean the school theme. I totallt understand the story of the song). The performance was quite juvenile. Ailsha got lost in the performance, disappearing to blow the tin whistle at someone at one point. So messy.
Thank goodness Bambie brought structure, even if I wasn't behind the the song.
I'm hoping that RTE get behind Bambie Thug and throw everything at her in terms of support, and helping her bring a fully realised, clarified product.
Some of the bits need a revamp and clarity. At times there's too much going on, but the good thing is that the entire performance has a skeleton that can be built up on.
Intense vocal, great visuals that support the narrative, and some choreography. They just need to clean it up, add some atmosphere and tighten the production and deliver a really memorable show.
Oh and thank God the boyband didn't win. Ireland have signalled a change and I'm here for it.
Thanks for the analysis, Amaan! Fingers crossed Bambie gets the support you mention
@@Wiwibloggs and I hope Deban is okay.
As Jinkx Monsoon once said......."Water off a ducks back!"
Sending love ❤️
I didn’t mind it. It’s was kinda Avril Lavigne’y and dated though. I did like the bit of As Gaeilge, but didn’t think people would get it.
RTV??
@@brianlynch649 sorry, typo. I meant RTE
Samhain is the original Celtic festival which Halloween originates from. I love love love this song and its performance! Ireland needs a top 10 finish!
As we invented Halloween, the song is so us 🇮🇪
Great reactions guys, love the song and performance and it really grows on you, especially if you heard the studio version
Thank you! And we totally agree ❤️
The correct choice in that weak NF. Wise move. The best word that defined the song was mentioned by William: Phantasmagoric. It seems that is perfect for Halloween. The ballarina part is the best part.
Nice video. Loving Bambie x
Ireland will be in the final this time. I like it and without hearing all songs yet would put it in my top 10.
I feel like the stage at Eurovision will be perfect for Bambi Thug!! It's so different, I think Ireland will go far in Malmö
Out in the semi’s
@@goonerbean4680Finland, Ukraine, Serbia and Iceland are all in our semi-final and they all appreciate darker music. The UK and Germany are also voting in our semi-final. This has a good chance of qualifying.
This track is immense! So dark. So fresh. Awesome!!
The Irish are crazy.
I love them.🎉
she has wednesday addams vibe
This will stand out ! People will sit up and take note. Welcome back to the final Ireland! 🎉 It's creative, it's no generic...
🤞🏻
Definitely stands out 💩
My favourite this year so far❤❤❤ Needs polishing ofc, but the Irish NF is very low budget and they really did the best they could in the circumstances. It has spirit and verve, and I'm so looking forward to what they will bring to the stage in Malmo.
Wow . . You wont forget it
I thought Bambie was like Kerli doing Babylon Zoo in a Tim Burton movie.
I respect and appreciate these references!
Ireland could be on a winner if they play right those Tim Burton vibes and underline the slower, gentler parts. They seem to be very artistic and already wait for seeing the costume choices for the semifinal 😊
The more I listen to this the more I think it will be dark horses for Eurovision Go Ireland 🇮🇪
Ireland🇮🇪 is just DOPE this year ❤❤❤❤ I'm really glad they have selected Bamby Thug and not just yet another boring "beach-boys"ish band 😅
YES. This feels special!
Ireland, Ancient and very Modern.
At least she’s not boring like the previous eye rish entries
Sorry to hear Deban has received such messages! I can’t speak on behalf of these toxic fans. Deban is my favourite wiwiblogger! Sending lots of love to Deban from Ireland love❤
The mark on her head is a Celtic symbol as well if you look on the "demons" are mythical Irish folklore spirits called Puca they have Ogham lines which is an ancient way of writing language in Ireland
I love it! I reminds me of Emilie Autumn
I Love this Song 🇵🇱❤️🇨🇮
There's definitely a lot to love!
It would be so lovely to have Bambi and Steczkowska in the same semi-final as their both witchy and likes to scream 🖤
@@Wiwibloggsas long as you keep your volume muted.
Love You Cinan for that Shadowhunters reference 😁
I _like_ this song. It's different, it rocks. I liked the video, I think this live performance shows that Bambie can sing on stage just as well as in a music video. I just hope they have a good staging for Bambie at Malmö.
bambie for the win
I was most excited for Ailsha and Bambie Thug and was quite surprised they finished top 2. I am so happy for Ireland for finally taking a risk. This could definitely bring them back to the finale. I hope Ireland keeps sending less generic songs in the future and i agree that Ireland definitely needs a different stage for the national selection.
Top marks for creativity
I think shes saying avada kadavra not abrakadabra (harry potter spell)
You cant really argue with william, always so fair, impartial ,professional, subjective and honest. He"s a pro.
Thank you from all of the lefties in Ireland who's parents still think they are Catholic for being the only ones so far to use Bambie's correct pronouns 🇮🇪❤.
(It warmed my heart as not even the jury used their correct pronouns cos Ireland is quite conservative.)
You don't speak for the majority of people on the left. Many of us have left-wing beliefs but we don't use 77 pronouns.
People like you almost make me turn right wing
It’s all over the place. I don’t think people will get it with one view.
Love it
3:18 the marks are Furthak runes :) just thought I'd clear it up, when I saw he asked xD
For me (from France) :
Ireland : Love the stage and the artist as a real identity but this type of music are not for me but it's different so good luck.
PS: Sorry for the english if it's not good.
They look really good. The intro part reminds me of "They're coming to take me away ha haa" by Napoleon XIV in the 60s... and that's definitely a plus.
very humiliating to be an Irish Eurovision fan in recent years. this year NEEDS to be the change
AVADA KEDAVRA
Bambi is so random!!!!
Do love how this act WOKE ME UP.
Чудовий виступ Бембі. Буде епічне протистояння Україна - Ірландія. 💛🩵
where can I get that cap??!! please send me the link!!!
11:25 *_PREACH, William!_* It infuriates me to hear that there are prime attacking Deban. Behavior like that needs to Stop.
Avada Kedavra.... a great reference to Harry Potter!! I love this!! Brilliant.
No one realized she sings Avada Kedavra from Harry Potter? 😅
This was my 2'nd....was so hoping for Go Tobann 🎉❤
Being in Ireland .. just hope we make the final ❤. I want to love the song, she can sing love tho. That’s new in a long time for Ireland. Change the costume , staging , less smoke 😂 … maybe a winner ? Ireland that isn’t represented hugely. I hope they make it
If Chris Harms from Lord of the Lost and Wednesday had loved each other very much, the result would probably have been Bambie Thug. This is wild, but this has quality. A big improvement to last year. The jury will probably love it for the artistic value, the big unknown will be the public vote. Anything can happen here.
We need their choreography on tiktok!
Hope we get through ❤ surprised Americans watch eurovision but maybe one day you'll be in it
Wishing you so much luck!
@@Wiwibloggs thank you 😊
I do like Bambie. Its good to have somethin queer/unique at ESC!
But… for me the strange/funnie thing abt it is… Now a lot of people do like it as well.if GERMANY does somethin like that… Like last year LOTL… 🤷🏽♂️ Com on guys. Germany is such an amazing place to be! Greetings from an Irish dude livin in 🇩🇪
Ireland has given up
I'm so happy they won. Will be my 1st place for awhile unless Gothminister wins MGP next week lol
Also, thank you so much for respecting their pronouns, it means a lot ❤
Mmmmmm...... I don't think Gothminister will win the NF on the 3rd of February. Maybe KeiiNo will win. Gåte has to find new lyrics for the song, so we have to wait and see. I mention Gåte because they are close to KeiiNo on the betting list.
@@lindakristinekjlibraten777 idk, I feel like everyone is severely underestimating Gothminster's fan base. Of course, I'm 100% biased, as I'm a huge fan, so there's that lol 😅 but also, the odds don't mean anything. Bambie wasn't predicted as the winner, and they still won.
Well, we just have to wait and see. Congratulations on Ireland and good luck to you on your Gothminister on Saturday. The conpetition is hard so let 's see.....
@@lindakristinekjlibraten777 thank you! You're right, it will be a tough one, but I've got the day off so I can watch, vote, and do my part. Good luck to yours as well!
@@itsmeya_bard9383 thank you. I've got 6 of my personal favourites in the final. So I have a big problem there! Anyway I'm looking forward to the show!
It’s like a musical
Background dancers straight out of Kingdom Hearts
I guess I'm on the fence leaning towards Bambi? Doomsday Blue wasn't my first choice (that was Go Tobann) but I can really see this song growing on me over time. It was deeply confusing when I first watched it because it is so different but I think I will appreciate it more as I listen to it over the course of this season. It's very interesting and well worth the risk for Ireland.
I don’t know if I like it or not - I’m just affraid of them. And this is probably a third witch on ESC this year - together with Slovenia and (as expected) Poland.
Its tradition to have it on late late show. By the way we won it seven times, so vanilla was in once to seven times.
Not my style but loved it 😂😂
Indeed there are elements of the Puka Spirits in the back the dancers, irish witchcraft lore which is in irish paganisim and the singer they are the witch pagan god and banshee (or Bandaoine Irish nonbinary death habuoring spirit)
I think William might be a little scared of bambie lady 😂😂😂
LOL. I am ready to embrace them and their art!
I think he might be
Sorry... not for me
Only negative? No chorus or can I dance along ? Great calm confident voice. Not a chorus to hold us … stranger things on a budget
I love that kind of music, it’s not for everyday but it could be very listenable at right time. Thanks Ireland for sending it. Hope people won’t send you on witchcraft prosecution…!! V
And wiwibloggs showed you love.. which is ultimately important for some Eurovision fans
No shade but feel the sound engineer didn't know how to deal with their sound- the encore performance was significantly better. Love Bambie, they're epic
Anyone else thinks of Silvia Night - Congratulations (Iceland 2005)?
At least that was catchy, this is all over the place 😠
2006
Its a lot to take in, or plain unacceptable? The jury is out.
She will definitely need second voices throughout the song. Her performance and the song have a lot of potential, but her vocals...........
Rte trows the Eurovision Song choices into the late late because they don’t have the budget
Devon, come meet me outside
You can do Hatari, or you can do Euro Neuro. You can’t do both at the same time. 😂
