Really nice to include the disclaimer in front. Now onto the song, Ireland, absolutely the correct move sending this, on the big stage with more involved staging, this will do great (it also has good televote partners in the semi, that NQ streak is ending). I absolutely love the whole act. Edit: worth noting this is the winner's reprise, which has better sound mixing than the original performance but more ad-libs from Bambie.

few things Ireland has never sent a Punk artist to Eurovision , Bambie is a trained singer and ballet dancer, I wish them well in the contest as i wish all the entries well. Cheer's to you all and nice to see you have got better ,
They may have had lessons for singing, but this is not a trained a singer, I'm sorry. There is quite a lack of correct vocal technique in the performance, and I did have a listen to some of their other music though it's difficult to gauge from the studio versions as there's quite a lot of post-production. The breathing is one area that requires a lot of work still as there is a strong habit to pull up, which means that they are relying on support from the pharyngeal region (which is why the breath flow is very unstable and inconsistent). In order to fix that, there needs to be more time spent on the thoracic muscles and the abdominals for the diaphragm, the entirety of breath control should be down there and never anywhere near the masseter. While it may not be their style or preference of music, a few months with some bel canto classical training focusing exclusively on breath support and control would do them wonders, and really correct a lot of current bad habit. I would talk about placement but I think that's later down on the line for the level they are at currently, first attention needs to go onto the core support. And with that being said, the fry (or scream if people prefer that term) is not healthy. There was only a fraction where it was done with correct placement and with the correct muscles in the other performance, and the rest of it was incorrect engagement and placement. If that's something they want to learn I would genuinely recommend that they put it on the back burner for now and revisit it once they've corrected their core technique, because without the core technique it's only ever going to be detrimental to incorporate things such as fry; a lot of people try to rush in on it for stylisation because it's what they prefer in their music interests, and they damage their own voice because of excessive incorrect use.
After the initial shock of seeing the entry ive heard it a few times. I actually agree with Maia and think this will go to the grand final. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the stage show.
I actually love this song, also this was the performance after she won, she sung better when she first performed but I think the excitement of winning made her a little shaky haha

This whole performance was like not so professional theater act. More like street act than actual stage act. Hard to say...do I like it or do I hate it. I kind of love that dilemma. Eurovision needs counterpoints. :P You will remember this one! It is always good thing in Eurovision Song Contest. And it just gets better with repeats. And I actually love to see that the country of Johnny Logan is nowadays much more crazier and so much more daring with the Eurovision. :) I also like that I can find many old music and movie shadows in this one. Just to mention: Amy Winehouse, Marilyn Manson, Björk, Alice in Wonderland movie, Tim Burton´s style and of course the song They are coming to take me away Ha-Haaa!
I think live this will definitely be entertaining, even though I am not a fan of the atonal shrieking. I absolutely DESPISE the official music video, but find the live version more palatable. Still not my cup of tea, but appreciate that Ireland is mixing it up.
Semplicemente geniale, una delle più belle performance viste fino ad oggi, non ascolto questo genere di musica, al primo ascolto non rende la genialità della performance ma più la si ascolta e più piace
Don't worry, Bambie is okay going by 'she/her' and has had pronouns mixed up multiple times by other journalists covering their song, so it doesn't mater! Anyway, regarding the song, Ireland normally send radio friendly songs that dont do well, so this is an out of the box choice that will finally give Ireland some hope!
I think it's important to qualify that Ireland is having all these songs perform on a late night show essentially, so it's not always the best indication of the live sound of vocal quality to be expected on a larger stage or somewhere with the capacity to have good sound mixing and acoustics. It's a very love or hate it song, it's really experimental and off the wall and very young and harsh. I'm just thinking God that Ireland decided to send something other than the boy band or the mid tempo SyCo Records-esque pop song. I'd rather them burn out in glory than fail to qualify once again with mediocre vanilla nonsense.
You know what parts of this reminds me of? They're coming to take me away, Ha-Haaaa! By Napoleon XIV (1966) Like that was the very first thing that popped into my head.
Nice presentation vid. Thank you. Ireland with Bambie thug will sail to the Finals imo. And that has been 5 years isnt it?? Very talented young artists bringing something new to the ESC table. This genre on itself isnt that recent. Meager versions were served at the ESC dish before, but NEVER as well excecuted as this one. They will work on an amazing effect on stage in Sweden I susspose?. Maybe it doesnt work, but nothing being ashamed of. Thank you Éire. Welcome back in the Game. Good luck. Greetings from Netherlands. "Open the biggest Mosh-pitt NOW............................................."
I think like the song has a lot of potential, could use a stronger producers touch to really make the different parts come together. I feel like they can do this a lot better.
This is a very popular genre my daughters and I listen to this type of music a lot - its great to see Ireland embracing their Pagan history and send something not beige.
I find it surprisingly enjoyable for what it is. Still, I only enjoy the package in the context of Eurovision. Overall, it's in my 5th place out of the songs we have so far, behind France, Norway, Czechia and Ukraine.
Eurovision-season is fully on only when I start seeing Myrtlep-videos popping up 🎉🎉 Finland selected its song yesterday. The winners' reprise version has better vocals than the one they did in the actual competition. The eurovision channel has the slightly worse one, here's the better one: czcams.com/video/ip7rqynpohY/video.htmlsi=OHRy4ArjQ7-llAft Take care and good to see you back 😊
The nineties were amazing especially musically, but I totally respect the comment about Wild youth as that was a shit performance lol. this is the ONLY TIME IRELAND HAS BROUGHT IT since 2010 in any way staying true and relevant in this wild contest. Basically, the guy dissing last year was right, and the waste of hundreds of millions of euro in our fragile economy before now sending rubbish is DISGRACEFUL!! hopefully the same dude was pleasantly laughing cos of the tone change? please dont drink beer awaiting to dislike something, as Bambie thug proves even Ireland can surprise you! :) :O and also by the way, he's a bit deaf because Bambi CAN sing
@@jazzycat8917Fully agreed. The odds thing doesn't matter, it happens every year... Remember Malta 2021 for example. They were first in the odds almost until the end, but finished 7th in Eurovision. Betting on themselves etc.
Ireland are very proud of Bambi. They are an incredible confident non-binary artist representing not just the queer community but also those of us who are neurospicy. They have ADHD and have worked their butt off to get to this position. Wait and see, this will grow on you. As noted, this was the reprise so they were celebrating. This is not a joke entry. This is a visceral song about being overlooked. Also, they have a fantastic voice. Listen to the first performance and back catalogue.
I think four people showed enough about how this song will go. It will split the masses. Those who don't get it will hate it. Those who get it will vote desperately to get it in the grand final. I'm vibing with it, I more want to wait until I have a 'proper' live performance and not one on the shitty sound quality of the late late show
That's how you try to break an NQ streak though. There's no 'voting against' in Eurovision so it's much better to send a song that will be as many people's number 1 as on the other hand people's last place than something that everyone will find to be middle of the road and not get anyone to vote for it.
So, I made a couple of reply comments but a couple of additions I think it's important you understand about this: Is this a joke entry? Hell no! Bambie has vocal range, the screams (I heard them live in Dublin last night standing next to them - or more accurately underneath them as they were standing and singing on a bar - at the afterparty) are incredible. Like how can they do that? Ouija Pop is the self-styled genre Bambie terms this. It takes you on a journey. It's polarising, as you can see, but all Ireland needs is to qualify for the final again, and despite being in an absolutely bloodbath of a semi, if any performer can come through a bloodbath, it's Bambie (see Tsunami or Love bites for the artistry and imagery and you'll get my point). There is so much forgotten Irish history dotted around this minimal staging (due to the format of the studio, not Bambie's fault) and so many Easter eggs. The symbols? From the first Irish alphabet that we are aware of. Paganism throughout as a theme, and Ireland was a pagan country - how do you guys think Halloween became a thing? :D Russian roulette? Maybe, sure. But the only other song that had any chance of qualifying in Eurovision that was half in Irish and parts in English, didn't work live. This works live in every aspect it needs to. The main worry I have are camera angles, and if that's my main concern, it tells you something about this song's chances (again, we're talking qualification, not winning). They have such a creative team around them with so many ideas for staging. Is this a song for your playlist? Probably not. But is it something that will stand out in a show which is all about standing out? Absolutely. And some people will intensely dislike it, but enough will love it to vote for it. It's not like for example Australia last year, where everyone loved it, but in the final it got almost zero televote points in the final after winning its semi final. It is there to lodge in your brain so you don't forget it, and that will push it through to the final (with the caveat, once again, that Ireland's semi is an absolute bloodbath with almost certain shock NQs - I just don't think Ireland this time will be an NQ).
2 on the left, pathetic, haven't a clue !! He should stay off the beer while reviewing. 2 on left, have some credibility. Very disappointing review....
This surprisingly is my favorte song so far. The melody is the most memorable for me after Zorra (Spanish is my native language) and the one from Latvia. It is entertaining and like you said major staging possibilities. It is good to recall Marilyn Manson because so far he has made a mark in music industry with his style, so why Bambi can not demonstrate that same thing in Eurovision this year? Love your channel, first timer here.
@@kevanmcdougallmph I wrote a message defended Bambi's performance and you picked holes in my praise comment. You couldn't just agree or disagree. Now onto the "them" nonsense, you have some hope in hell if you think I'm calling an individual person them. Again I support Bambi as my original comment stated but I'm not calling someone that was born a girl, looks like a girl, sounds like a girl is a female, a them. Not once did I see her act masculine.
I think of the song as depression/casting spells then when the pre-chorus anger hits it's almost like Bambie takes medication and can experience some euphoria for a brief moment.
Finally someone mentions the Marilyn Manson reference. I personally love the song, but I prefer the studio version. I love entries that try to move away from normative pop, so I hope to see them in the final.
I like the chorus but dislike everything else about the song I’m afraid. I will never seek this song out for a listen. The song is out there for sure and both memorable and creative which is great - but I’m not entirely convinced people will vote for it in droves. The idea that anything out of the box is automatically guaranteed success, I am not so sure of - it still needs to work as a song - but we shall see though. I believe the stage show will be good and the vocals improved because… we saw it live on the Late Show. We all know what that means. But as songs go I am very much unconvinced. I tried to get into this but I just can’t. (Also, full disclosure: I was very much hoping for Alisha and Go Tobann which is much more accessible while still very different… but we can’t have it all.)
As you can see, we in Ireland don't really take the Eurovision too seriously.......we did actually send a turkey to the final some years back....Dustin the Turkey,.
It’s not odd if you know where the person is coming from it’s pre Christian Celtic culture which was tolerant towards everyone had equal rights we had a phrase for mentality different children which translates into “a child that is with god”.
Y’all should watch the actual performance rather than the winning performance, because it’s a better live performance… and perhaps try to honor their pronouns. The actual performance also has a nice post card package of them explaining their queerness and non binary identity, which is super exciting as they will be on of the first openly non binary performers in Eurovision. The studio version also has vocal effects that are quite strange and fun.
I think it’s sad how judgy these people were and laughing at her art 😢 Go Bambi!

Just to mention: Amy Winehouse, Marilyn Manson, Björk, Alice in Wonderland movie, Tim Burton´s style and of course the song They are coming to take me away Ha-Haaa!
Winner for me!! .....keep listening and you will eventually understand the brilliance of this song
its brillaint...and for some on the panel...there is always bubble gum pop All KInds Of Everything....nothing bad about this best in years...
They are a really good performer, and they can actually sing and the song grows on you the more you listen to it! #Crownthewitch
Seriously, you've listened to it more than once ?
Can you make the song´s volume louder in the next videos? Now the song sounds too quiet.
We want her to do SISTER RAY - please- thank you
This performance is a draft imo, you have to check the stage performance at Eurovision it is soooo much better 😊
Anyway, regarding the song, Ireland normally send radio friendly songs that dont do well, so this is an out of the box choice that will finally give Ireland some hope!
shes a women..end of
I think it's important to qualify that Ireland is having all these songs perform on a late night show essentially, so it's not always the best indication of the live sound of vocal quality to be expected on a larger stage or somewhere with the capacity to have good sound mixing and acoustics.
By Napoleon XIV (1966)
Like that was the very first thing that popped into my head.
No, it is not.
Looks like Ireland 🇮🇪 is bringing the 🏆 back home. Love it 🤩
Nice presentation vid.
Since it is Eurovision after all, she will do quite well. Weirdness most of the times, pays off.
Being in Ireland … no judgement
I think like the song has a lot of potential, could use a stronger producers touch to really make the different parts come together.
I feel like they can do this a lot better.
This is a very popular genre my daughters and I listen to this type of music a lot - its great to see Ireland embracing their Pagan history and send something not beige.
I find it surprisingly enjoyable for what it is. Still, I only enjoy the package in the context of Eurovision. Overall, it's in my 5th place out of the songs we have so far, behind France, Norway, Czechia and Ukraine.
Amazing performance - This is not the original, competitive performance though. This is the second one, after she won.
Remember lordi...is was that good music????
You should react to the first Performance and not the shaky funny winning performance…it is a lot better and more spooky and serious!
Eurovision-season is fully on only when I start seeing Myrtlep-videos popping up 🎉🎉
Finland selected its song yesterday. The winners' reprise version has better vocals than the one they did in the actual competition. The eurovision channel has the slightly worse one, here's the better one: czcams.com/video/ip7rqynpohY/video.htmlsi=OHRy4ArjQ7-llAft
Take care and good to see you back 😊
Still cant get over how you trashed last years winner and did not think it would win 😂
You are all so pass remarkable
Wait…. Is that the point of ?
it seems that the Irish singer is in labor on stage 😢😂🎉
From Ireland or Zombieland? To everyone's horror this is 7th in the odds and rising. Strangely I like this better than "We Are One" and "That's Rich."
Thats coz We Are One was boring as hell and That's Rich was giving Disney Channel
@@jazzycat8917Fully agreed. The odds thing doesn't matter, it happens every year... Remember Malta 2021 for example. They were first in the odds almost until the end, but finished 7th in Eurovision. Betting on themselves etc.
Horror?
Ireland are very proud of Bambi. They are an incredible confident non-binary artist representing not just the queer community but also those of us who are neurospicy. They have ADHD and have worked their butt off to get to this position. Wait and see, this will grow on you. As noted, this was the reprise so they were celebrating. This is not a joke entry. This is a visceral song about being overlooked. Also, they have a fantastic voice. Listen to the first performance and back catalogue.
I'm Irish and I'm definitely not proud of this
Lots of us are.
Too bad@@outoforbit00
@@outoforbit00 everyones got an opinion 😱
Dollar Store Grimes!
@@dk240996spot on.
So you don't think this is demonic at all
Oh jazz Ireland … how can you send something like this… I need a tea after it , bye .
It will be in the Finals.
So, I made a couple of reply comments but a couple of additions I think it's important you understand about this:
Is this a joke entry?
Russian roulette?
Irlande 12 points ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤💥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aww would you like to send the dubliners sad .glad you were not on the voting panel
Its amazing how people love satanism nowdays !!! But well! seeing the state off the world its not a suprise !
This was the song after she won, the original performance was better
just for future comments, Bambie is non-binary so in place of "she" you can say "they"
@@kevanmcdougallmph why does it even matter. Stop making a thing of it
@@kevanmcdougallmph Where's the rest of them?
@@trevorkeating229 why do you think it doesn't matter?
@@kevanmcdougallmph I wrote a message defended Bambi's performance and you picked holes in my praise comment. You couldn't just agree or disagree. Now onto the "them" nonsense, you have some hope in hell if you think I'm calling an individual person them. Again I support Bambi as my original comment stated but I'm not calling someone that was born a girl, looks like a girl, sounds like a girl is a female, a them. Not once did I see her act masculine.
😮😮🎉😂🎉
The production team in RTÉ ( TV station) aren't great. Bear that in mind
Tá sí go h-iontach. Me encanta 🤩
I think of the song as depression/casting spells then when the pre-chorus anger hits it's almost like Bambie takes medication and can experience some euphoria for a brief moment.
She reminds me creepy version of Emilie Autumn
Finally someone mentions the Marilyn Manson reference. I personally love the song, but I prefer the studio version. I love entries that try to move away from normative pop, so I hope to see them in the final.
please react to sweden
This is the winner's reperformance. The first perdormance was a better representation of the song.
Neither the official video or the performance in semifinal one! Make a new reaction!
I would not be mad if Ireland took back the lead with this, but it almost certainly won't happen.
Why not?
@@TheManInBlueFlames Because this won't come close to winning
@@sav0001 Odds have dropped a lot in the top 7 now Go Bambie.
It’s not odd if you know where the person is coming from it’s pre Christian Celtic culture which was tolerant towards everyone had equal rights we had a phrase for mentality different children which translates into “a child that is with god”.
Well that was a nippy and patronizing review.
