  • Let's get a fresh cold shower of this Irish artist i never heard of.
It's a gothic piece with lots of electronic instruments in a very bipolar fashion. This was a lot of fun to watch and I am absolutely into her style, definetly will look into her music further in the future :)
    What do you think?

This song is amazing and the things that were changed for the live performance made it even better. The performance itself was out of this world and Bambie was incredible.

I recommend the live version from the final. It was absolutely incredible, what Bambie managed to achieve live on stage.

Loving your reactions. Irish here, HI! Just a couple of clarifications - Bambie is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. Secondly, Ireland is not a very conservative and religious country, certainly not the last 15-20 years. It was the first European country at least to legalise gay marriage by referendum (overwhelmingly) and also abortion by referendum.
Ireland for the past 10 years or so has been sending bland, uninteresting music, and this year the national selection for the first time had a variety of choice. The studio is awful, but Bambie stood out on that horrific stage by a mile. I was in a nearby pub in Dublin and everyone was voting for Bambie after the pre-show fan favourite (Ailsha - Go Tobann) didn't go very well live.
Beyond that, so much of your analysis I see and agree with and I love that you see the song as joined together with the dissonance - the same vibe throughout, expressed in different manners. So many others just don't see/hear it. It's also nice to see someone appreciate that Ireland did something different this year. And overall in Ireland people are very very proud of this entry. Tsunami as someone else mentioned is an amazing song (watch Bambie perform it at the London Eurovision Party - LEP last weekend).
Bambie has always said if someone wants to put them into the box they want to break out of it, and break all conventions and understanding of what things should be. This applies to their music style as well - in their back catalogue you can find so many different styles. They call this particular genre Ouija-pop - as far as I'm aware it's a term they coined themselves.
And finally, one of the things I love most that's hidden under the many layers is the heartbeat running throughout the song, aside from the final breakdown. It's so subtle but once you hear it you can't unhear it and I LOVE that it's connected to the lyrics of the second verse as well.

I live in the UK and I am going to be voting for Ireland this year. Love Bambi Thug, I like music that is unique and I think that this song is very creative with a lot of hidden layers. I think that some people won't get this song because they lack depth of character to be able to appreciate the meaning, the creativity and the changes throughout the song which kind of tells a story. However, a lot of people will like this song and a lot of people will relate to the song. I would love Ireland to win the Eurovision song contest, it is a country with a rich music heritage and culture and I think that it would boost tourism in Ireland.

This has a bit of everything in it, with lots of sections seamlessly put together. It’s got a very nice melody running throughout along with Techno, Death Metal, Pop, Rap, Thrash Metal, different chord changes and a really nice section at the end containing a late night soothing jazz/blues style. It’s not a stretch at all to also suggest a hint of a few Progressive Rock touches, here and there. This is really very good. I think it has potential for the interest in this song to grow and maybe to be seen in the future as something approaching an absolute masterpiece. Time will tell.

Love this song. So untypical for Eurovision. The funny thing is that Ireland is considered a very conservative and religious country, so picking a non-binary artist that does dark pop with pagan/witchcraft aesthetic is a big "fuck you" to the establishment.
If you want another cool song by Bambie, check "Tsunami".
Thank you for your videos, I love your reactions. Cheers.

Ireland is very liberal compared to most of Eastern European countries. This comment is way off, it was probably accurate about 30 years ago.

Honestly, a bit disturbing how people don’t realise Paganism originated in Ireland, plus Halloween. The song is all over the place because the “artist” is a pose r caparlisong on absolute nothing new other than to be shocking, and I hope it goes nowhere.

Also, it's a myth that Halloween originated in Ireland.
But it was celebrated here for longer than other countries
