    Great job with the Jeep! You really are giving it a new life! My friend is lifting his WJ just because the budget boost was cheaper than OE suspension lol

    Those wheels look nice on both Jeeps. I had no idea they were takeoff that most people don't want. They look nice iconic for Jeeps. Both of your Jeeps are WOW now.

      Thanks being the base model wheel it's the 1st to go for most!

    Dude, you are amazing at fixing that stuff up. Love the RAM in the garage. Mine's old 2008. Still running great, though. When I saw you at 12:30 using that pry bar on the axle, I could just picture you using it to open your laptop you upgraded-which is how I landed here! Plus, it's strangely coincidental that you sound just like my friend Jeremy.

    Nice job Tyler! I have a 2004 WJ and want to do the same lift. Besides the 2" spring spacers did you change out anything else? Is it not necessary to change to longer sway bar links, shocks, or add the little rubber transfer case supports?

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety

      I did add new front and rear sway bar links, for the front and am using take off factory Jeep Wrangler JL rear sway bar links and on the rear I am using factory take off Jeep Gladiator rear links. I used the stock shocks (since I new this one was going to be staying on the road) and have been very surprised how fine the stock shock length has been even with the 2in spacers. Now it would limit the down travel off-road with the stock shocks but on road it seems to work great. Also there is no need for a Tcase drop with the 2in. Thanks for the view!

    Another great video what size tyres did you use with the 2 inch lift

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety +1

      That Jeep had 265/70R17 tires but that size is just a little too large for just the 2in lift. 245/70R17 or 255/70R17 are just about perfect for the 2in lift. Thanks for the view!

    • @CozyBear_29
      @CozyBear_29 Před měsícem

      He said his Jeep currently has 265/70R17 but they are still a little too big and rub sometimes when backing up, the better size with just the 2in lift would be a 255/70R17 because it is just slightly shorter and narrower but still looks great.

    What does a lift like that do to the ride quality and handling? Does it affect alignment? Nice video.

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety

      A simple spacer lift like this reuses the factory springs (and shocks in this specific case) so the ride is almost identical. One thing that adds ride harshness in this case is the heavier load range tires. Since the stock tires were very lightweight street tires vs. the tires I installed are heavier load range "light truck" tires it adds some road harshness. Thanks for the view!

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety

      Also yes you will need to have an alignment performed after the lift install, I checked and corrected the alignment after the install but did not show it in the video.

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před rokem

      The tires on this one were 265/70R17. They were a little bit too large for only the 2in lift though. I have found 245/70R17 or 255/70R17 are about the perfect size for the 2in lift on the WJ's. Thanks for the view!
