To all of my Subscribers, I re-uploaded this because I had a few editing mistakes in the first one. I am a perfectionist and I couldn't let them slide. Thanks for your understanding!
Hey, thanks so much for the review. Very helpful. I'm wondering would placing led tape around the edges of the Perseus have an influence on sweet spot, spin rate, etc.? Thanks :)
Yes! Placing lead tape around the edges of any paddle will help quite a bit with sweet spot etc. but of course you can add lead tape to a different paddle with a larger sweet spot to begin with and it will have an even larger sweet spot. So it would help! But starting with the best paddle would be step 1 :)
Hey sts pickleball, I remember you did a video on the C7 Zenith A11n pickleball paddle but now I cannot find it. Was there some flaws that you found in it recently? I just bought it and now I am having doubts based on your review removal.
So I think a lot of why the Perseus is the way it is lies in the pantheon on how Ben Johns wants to play. By enabling him to have a very focused sweet spot, feel characteristics and overall power dynamics it kind of plays into his game of high makes or high misses. I think psychologically Ben plays with a very exacting style of play, and this shows when people are able to get him out of this strict zone his game suffers. Most paddles are marketed toward a huge swath of players with numerous hitting dynamics...not at all like Ben Johns style.
agree generally, a more polished and consistent (advanced) player will be most rewarded. I ran the perseus back to back against my 003 and gravitated back to the 003.
Thank you for the video. Is the Volair paddle you’re comparing to the 14mm or 16mm? I feel the 14mm has a smaller sweet spot too making it feel pretty dead on off center dinks. Maybe just me.
I feel that way with most paddles less than 16mm other than the MUVN 13S and the new ALW-C 12.7mm Paddletek paddle. I am referring to the 16mm version as that’s my favorite one!
I’d go 5” of 1g per inch tape starting one inch out from the handle going up the throat and into the sides of the paddle 😊 and if that’s too heavy just go 3” up the sides of the paddle
Could the spin rates be lower because you aren't hitting it as good as maybe Ben Johns would or any other pro? I watch Ben and it seems like his balls will dive hard on serves

I'd love to see videos where you re-measure the spin after a few weeks/months of use and see how much it decays
I'm going to add that to my future video list!
Your reviews are very very good...
Wow thank you so much! I really appreciate that man. That means alot to me for real.

I've never done a review on that paddle, you must have me mixed up with someone else.

Well it's also me doing the RPM results for the other paddles. So why would that matter?
