Yeah we're not getting too far. Japan might have an underdog run again though

One thing that US Soccer Analysts can do is, have a long term discussion about:
    - Total Soccer.
    vs
    - Creative Soccer.
Total Soccer is a concept started by Holland in the 70s and gave us geniuses like johan cruyff
The core idea was to create a Football Team that has Players who can play each position.
But that demanded a lots of time to form these players in a country that loves Football.
The opposite of this Philosophy of Total Football that actually represents EUROPE as a whole.. the opposite is the South American Style of play (though it's Brazil that we think of when talking about creative Football), the current World Champion Argentina is South American.
So, as we know the previous 3 World Champions before Argentina (France Germany Spain) are all Europeans and play some level of Total Football.
A conversation like this will give you a chance to identify the characteristics of US Soccer Players. Like Africa and Asia progressed fast by learning about how Soccer evolved in Europe and South America (1st Ever World Cup Champion is South American), so too does North America.
Canada's current experience with Jesse and before Jesse is extremely useful to determine where we must go and how to get there.

Don't underestimate Guinea nor New Zealand.
I know I said the USMNT should beat them both, but neither should be considered a chop-liver.
Guinea I know will be a TOUGH customer especially if you underestimate them. They will make you regret the day you joined the National Team. They can be very affective if you give them too many chances. They will seem to you like they're easy, but they're not.
New Zealand, although I don't know them, it is very obvious they will play (like Guinea) for National Pride. So it's safer to play against them as though they're Tough Customers.
I rather play harder and make no mistakes and absorb all that pressure, against them, an win.. then not do well in the next round,, I rather it be that than regret underestimating them.
This is how you regress in Soccer level, although you progressed in individual Player Talent level... You forget the important lessons learned from previous generations.
I think the errors that the USSF officials have made is the same that many federations make..
The do a very poor job of keeping the communications lines open between players of the previous generation and the current generation, relying %100 on the Coach.
Well if your Coaches don't do the job of passing the experience or the lessons learned, then you will always start (or seem to start) from Zero.
I think we lost against France 3-0 though the USMNT OL was good, exactly because the players did not expect that they may lose.
Well, you're in the official tournament now and your fans are tuning in hoping to see Medals. We can see the USWNT doing well with Coach Emma Hayes, but not the USMNT.. WHY?
We can see the US Volleyball Teams doing well so far... and other sports disciplines but not the USMNT..
My opinion is, the failures should be attributed to the USSF Officials, we do that all over the world all sports. We never say after failure that the players are to blame and the coaches but not the officials in the federation, EVER!
Repetitive Failure call into question the role or the quality of work that the officials in that federation do. It's almost like in Politics no success will come by Luck - You have to Work at it and on all levels to become successful.
Compare US Gold Medalists in other Sports disciplines and the work they do with their coaches and the officials in that Federation - Compare that with the USSF as whole and you will then learn how to make the USMNT Stronger and more successful in 2026 and the years to follow, in all group ages.
We can see our Players are Good, but we can also see they don't win!
At the Olympics, to win the Gold you must first win the prior matches.

I say eliminated in the group stages on the third and final matchday. I'll be shocked if the USMNT U-23 squad make the podium in Paris 2024.

Should have brought an Overage Striker. But maybe none of them were released, They couldn't even get Jordan Morris released so it makes sense.

The Olympic USMNT should qualify from its Group otherwise the USSF's problems are lot bigger than we think.
Lets just say, as far as whether it's appropriate to talk about the USSF's problems, we still in 2024 so if we can't talk about them know it's just gonna get less appropriate.
We can save something, I'm certain of that.
Now, if we're in the Olympics and just want to achieve an nice showing, this B.S.
There is a lots of support from US FANS for Soccer and also we spend a lots of money on Soccer. SHOW ME THE RESULT !!
If you get out from Copa America empty handed, and the Olympic empty handed, then what good is the USSF for?
We could play these two tournaments with College Athletes and do no worst.
FACT: Results are the evidence on Competence.
As Jerry McGuire said in the Movie: "SHOW ME THE MONEY"
The USSF must show the results or stop lecturing everybody.
The problem may not be the Coach nor the Players, it maybe the Program itself.
    1. No Team of Players can play the Matches and win and do the Job of the Coach.
    2. No Team of Players and Coaches can... as well as do the Job of the Officials.
You need to have a great USSF Team of Officials to produce Good Results !
It's tough to be judged on failure but that's what we do as fans every week year round with the Players and Coaches. What is Fair is Fair.
They have to beat New Zealand and also Guinea - I wish the Olympic USMNT Good Luck.
WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN

Damn bro Mexico even at least went for gold once now that your in might as well go for gold would bring a lot more casuals and non football fans to learn some of the players or connect and have more faith in the team if it won something although not a fifa cup but the Olympics to a lot outside of football is the largest sporting event so to win a gold medal in football for the USA would definitely increase fan interest obviously not the football fans but others outside the sport

Too much MLS. Our weak domestic league destroys everything it touches.

You’re aware that most European teams aren’t willing to release players for the Olympics, right? That’s why Pepi and Tillman aren’t there. Instead of being a self-hating USMNT fan who only has eyes for Europe, maybe be a participant in supporting your local team and continuing to build football/soccer culture in THIS country.
