The USMNT is Finished.

  • The USMNT had high hopes for the 2024 Copa America, hosted in the United States, seeing it as a prime opportunity to test themselves against top-tier opponents and prepare for the 2026 World Cup. However, a combination of factors led to a disappointing early exit. Red cards, poor refereeing, and questionable decisions from manager Gregg Berhalter all played a part, along with a lackluster performance from the players. Despite being in a group with strong Uruguay, the US should have fared better against Panama and Bolivia. Warning signs were evident before the tournament, including a 5-1 thrashing by Colombia and a near defeat to Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League Semi-Final. So now in this video we'll delve into the reasons on why the USMNT has struggled under Gregg Berhalter's second cycle and what this means for the program in the future. 🇺🇸
This definitely took a while to make, so I'd appreciate if you guys could share, like, and subscribe :).

That is one of the worst parts of this. That being said, if Uruguay gets into the final, Bielsa will likely have to face off against his mother country and the country he managed for several years, Argentina. So these coaches know that can happen. Yes, Bielsa has managed not one, not two, but three CONMEBOL nations (Argentina, Chile and now Uruguay).

@starboys3407 before comparing this team to the high tier teams, not even elite nations, the US has to make some kind of breakthrough in a competition like making it into the semis WC or even a final in Copa America. Doubling down on Berhalter shows that the federation believes "the american style" is fully functional and effective at the highest stage which is not any Concacaf competition, and this couldn't be further from reality. Finding the right coach, probably from Europe, Klopp is on sabbatical but he would be a top choice, is a good for starters but youth development and scouting has to change also.

The problem with the US is that I feel the pundits and fans almost “baby” the team and yet try to have high expectations. They keep calling it a project but now that some of their players are in competitive leagues they think they’re gonna be dark horses. Only a handful of players are consistent starters for their clubs. And a lot of them are on the bench. I think it’s better to go to lower tier clubs in Belgium, Portugal or Holland and try to work your way up from there.
I think honestly US fans need to worry more about winning the nations league and gold cup for a while until enough of their players are consistent starters. Every bit of news good or bad they instantly bring up how it’ll impact 2026, all for a ro16 exit at best. Columbia cooked this team. Holland scored the same goal three times against this team. They really need to lower their standards for a while and try to work their way up first. They want instant gratification with the first generation of players that are in top leagues.

Gregg Berhalter needs to be gone. He is way too complacent. We saw it when he told the team the score of the bolivia panama game while they were defending a free kick. No good coach would do that. The team should’ve played better, and weah never should’ve gotten a red. Not all of this is on Berhalter but a lot of the blame is

CONCACAF isn't the worst region only cuz Oceania exists.
US and Mexico are cooked. Panama and Costa Rica perform only once a decade, Jamaica are perpetual nobodies. The rest are just plain bad and not worthy of mention.
Sad state for our continent 😢

    Two things:
The USMNT isn’t as talented as you and others make it seem.
And secondly, I don’t believe the USSF has the balls or intelligence to fire Gregg.
It’s more pablum and boring football through 2026, which will be ultimately more embarrassing by a factor of 10 than the Copa was/is.

    Keep Berhalter. Please.
Don't shell out millions to get someone decent, like Jurgen Klopp, or anyone else.
I think the US is a sleeping giant when it comes to football (won't call it soccer, sorry people)
Cause if you ever wake up to the sport for real, then my country (the Netherlands) won't ever get a shot at World Cup glory.
So just focus on Basketball or the NFL and let the USMNT continue to go on underperforming. You are so good at it.

    Fun Facts:
1.USMNT's shock 1-2 loss to Trinidad & Tobago was also the same result that prevented them for playing in the 2018 World Cup, with Panama qualifying instead at that time.
2.Panama had just lost to Colombia by 5 goals. That's hillarious to see the fact Panama are the "real USMNT".
