So I'm not 100% sure. But there was the Israeli-Arab war in 1967 and theres a possibility that one of the Arab nations were in fact allies to Soviet Union. Hence why the recognition of Israel was taken back by the USSR, at the same time you can also see the entirety of Soviet Block turning white too. This is especially funny, considering the fact that for example Czechoslovakia was actually selling weapons/planes and training Israeli pilots and its was widely considered crucial in the estabilishment of Israel..

Switzerland recognizes that other countries exist, although in some cases there are of course disputes that make it a giant headache. It gets easier to manage which claim is probably better to recognize if there are elections and/or referendums there that can be generally observed as being free, like the election to the Knesset that is about to happen in a few days, or in places like Kosovo, a referendum is held on independence, or they have obviously independent foreign policies and militaries, and nobody doubts that the IDF is effective at being a military force that maintains a specific geographic area as not being part of any other country that is recognized. Overlapping claims can be ignored at times such as if a Palestinian group claims all of Israel too or the other way around, just as North and South Korea are both recognized by many countries with their overlapping claims disregarded.

See that brief moment Rhodesian recognized Israel then changed? Two very good reasons for that
    1. Israel started to send aid to Rhodesian and they got recognized for it
2 it changes because Rhodesian as a country stopped existence and became Rhodesian-Zimbabwe and pulled its stance as the government was suddenly filled with people who had Israeli aid used against them.

i can go on, stop acting like britain is the worst at it when there is so many others who have done it even worse. at least when britain decolonized they gave majority rule to the colonies and actively removed minority rule countries that tried to leave the empire.
the reason you all pick on the brits is just because they were the most successful at it.
