Pretty simple dude: political pressure. Sure, there was a beligerant Canarias independence movement: but it was nothing on the scale of what the push for West Saharan secession was. Virtually the entire Arab-speaking world were putting massive political pressure on Spain to relinquish Western Sahara, and Morocco wanted that land aswell. Add to that Spain's internal counterculture-inspired pressure to decolonise, and there was no good reason to keep Western Sahara

Only the US has a recognition and it was thanks to Trump (Biden doesn't really want to get involved, but he can't revoke the recognition because that would anger both Morocco and Israel), so I'd say that it's supported by the Middle East and some random African countries that depend on Morocco.

THE UK said the same (though still have to recognize like the us did) Almost all of Europe supports morrocan autonomy plan (just another fact you can easily google).
Edit: 25 African countries have embassies in WS, a lot of them are relevant in Africa. Nigeria was a huge supporter of "polisario" but now they never even mention them (they still recognize them but seeing how things are, that won't be for very long)

They also stopped the US consulate in Dajla and some military aid.
On the other side, having a consulate doesn't mean a recognition, as Colombia for example confirmed. It can mean support to the Moroccan stance, but never a full recognition.
