Hopefully one day the full edition appears so we can enjoy it in full. - Komedie
An extremely intelligent, learned, charismatic gentleman and truly outstanding comedian. 💜
Indeed....a very charismatic guy
He was indeed. I often think, having grown up watching him in the 80's (and as most teenaged boys did, appreciating the women as well as the humor) how sad it was that so many were so disparaging of him, never realizing what would be considered "mainstream" and "acceptable" on TV today, however many years later. I'd watch him any day of the week and twice on Sunday instead of the "comedy" we have now.
He would have been the last to get his round in though
My idol growing up and still❤rip
Benny Hill was a genius. I started watching his shows on a local PBS station in the late 70's.
Yeah he was awesome, a by-gone era that we will probably never see again. I am old and I have 1 seven year old niece, I have a collection of movie and TV stuff with notes I've made for her to go through when she gets older, the entire Benny collection is part of it, one of the very few TV series I have which includes MPFC.
Benny Hill was not in all PBS stations, for example in Chicago it was aired on WFLD in the late 70s thru the 80s and later WGBO thru 91 or 92 before Univision aquired it. Never on WTTW, a PBS station.
@@erickrosales2590 yeah, I can't speak for all PBS stations, but in the Capital District, it was on WMHT. The had loads of BBC stuff.....probably still do....😀
Probably greatest comedian from our shores
@@erickrosales2590 I grew up in Chicago in the 80's and i thought that channel 11 PBS which did sesame street, i thought that Benny Hill came on late (after all the kids were asleep) came on. I did watch it back then, just don't remember the exact channel but pretty sure it was channel 11.
Streets ahead of any of the modern day so called comedians -- Benny will NEVER be bettered
One of the all-time greats! 👍
This just wouldn't be allowed today. That's how sad it's become!!!
Underrated genius, he never got the recognition he deserved.
I wouldn't call him underrated. His show lasted from the mid 50s to the late 80s. That's much longer than any other comedian I can think of. He was hugely popular.
Underrated? Because he didn't win an Oscar?
No he was not, and Yes he did !!! Are you an iriditt ???
What a lovely man and a superb comic genius, will never forgive ITV or the pc brigade for driving him off television and sadly to an early grave and look at the vulgar vile crap that we are subjected to on our tv screens now. I had the pleasure to meet him and the Benny hill gang when i was at school and you could not meet a more decent and humble man ❤
I loved watching Benny Hill when I was a kid.
Yep me too.
Me three
This is the only interview of this type I've seen with Benny.
I'm German and please let me say, I'm missing this great man and artist, Mister Benny Hill, his unique team and the beautiful women so much.....
Thank you for sharing !.....💖
your german is wonderbra danke oops
@@sheene71 And your German almost as good as Benny Hill's ! LOL...👍 😂
Life has never been the same since this genius of comedy left us. Benny Hill was a global icon who left us way too soon. How he is so sadly missed. God bless him.
BBC should do a movie about his life. I’m not even from Europe but from the far Uruguay , just to get you a picture how far his humor went. My generation grew up with this man. The movie will be a ww success !.
Benny Hill show was my favorite one when I was in the🇺🇸in the early 90’s.
Although I did not speak English very well at that time, Just watching him made me happy and soothing.
Peace and Love from Japan 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇯🇵🇯🇵
He's now back on TV 📺 in the USA : for free broadcast Decades TV channel Sunday nights. Over the air for free or check your cable listing, also streaming in the usual places.
Man, I loved Benny Hill
We miss Benny!
My stepfather was the boss of a big insurance company here in Australia and he'd come home from New York or somewhere important business sit on the couch watching this guy on TV in the early seventies and laugh until he cried!!
LOVE YOU LEGEND AND PURE TALENT THANK YOU FOR MY HAPPY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
Alfred Hawthorne "Benny" Hill (21 January 1924 - 20 April 1992)
Easy to dismiss as a relic of a past time, no thanks to certain alternative " comedians" but thats a lazy view, an extremely clever, talented, funny and hardworking complex man whos talent for dialect, wordplay and jokes are sadly missed. One of the few people who it can be genuinely said, we wont see his ilk again. Sadly missed 3 decades after his death.
God Bless you Benny!
Great comedian, great loss, greetings from Italy
Two of the greatest tv stars ever 🌟 🌟 ❤🇬🇧
I love the bit where he's reading from his diary :P You know that look he gets when he's about to deliver his punchline, that impish smirk he puts on when looking straight into the camera xD I love it. Benny Hill taught me a lot of English, he was an absolute master at wordplay.
WOW!!!! This is a rare treat. Where's the rest of this interview?
I wish I had it! It's a holy grail for me!
@@BennyHillTHAMES someone might have access to tv archives. I think university students can be granted access to all these sort of programmes from the past
Try and find it in the arvive
Didn't Bob Monkhouse keep an archive. of all television programmes? He said th a in an interview
Did this interview take place in 1991 (it must have been earlier) considering the appalling treatment by Thames in 1989 when they axed the show. Whilst I never had one good thing to say about Carlton, Thames treatment of Benny to call him in to sack him with no warning after all the income he brought to Thames from overseas sales was utterly disgusting. I know times were changing, but they could have handled it so much better.
It literally destroyed him. One of their biggest, if not THE biggest stars on TV. sadly missed 😢 RIP Benny
So good
I miss him.
Benny Hill was brillantly underrated, and he did a great American accent. Sadly, he died on my 23rd birthday. 😞
somebody please put the full interview up ...we LOVE benny .
I loved Benny Hill. Absolutely hilarious
A comic genius.
Benny Hill...💚💚💚
Two lovely men and great natural entertainers.
Benny Hill Legend 💖
Very good interview
He was SO good

It’s sad to think that just the next year, he’d be found by his producer in his flat having already been gone a couple days. If he’d never been sacked, I’m sure he’d have lived a few years longer.
Named after Jack Benny? WELL!
He comes over as such a nice guy. No dope but maybe an innocent. Bless him.
Beautiful man GEM
I remember being at a local wine festival in a small Cher valley winery. They had a competition where they'd play a television theme. You would guess the theme and run up to the little stage, first there got a bottle of wine. When Benny Hill theme was played EVERYONE ran towards the stage !!
'Asked if he could borrow my pencil sharpener' - only those of us of a certain age know what a great gag that was! RIP Benny, can't wait to meet you in Heaven!
Can you please explain that joke, Dave? I did not get it.
@@philbijohn Ray Allan was a ventriloquist and Lord Charles was his dummy.
@@davebeech236Wow! It just hit me! With the sharpener, he was hoping to perform a circumcision!!! Lol
@@philbijohn but how the hell is anyone supposed to get that gag - it's ridiculously hard and still doesn't make much sense. Even if someone finds the connection with Israel>Jewish>Circumcision, and Ventiliguist>wooden male dummy, and pencil sharper>can be used to circumcise a male dummy's private part, but why would the ventriliguist want to circumcise his dummy because he was going to work in Israel????
@@nemqone8562 i agree, NQ. It took me a while to get that joke and that too with the help of other viewers here. But i feel this shows the brilliance of Benny Hill. People used to accuse him of peddling slapstick and crude humour. But this shows that his jokes could make you think and could be high brow. Some of the jokes he used to crack in his Fred Scuttle character would also make you pause and think and when the joke hits you, it would make the bit only funnier.
2 legends of showbiz r.i.p
Brilliant, genuinely talented man! He wasn't just a comedy actor he wrote all of his own stuff. Genius. It was definitely not about the money with Benny hill. After his death his colleagues and friends said the amount of uncashed cheques from the TV company he had in a pile. He would get loads of royalty payments from around the world and he had alot of money but he lived a very simple life. He wasn't lavish at all and did it because he had a passion for comedy.
Missing you Sir 😉
A pretty and lovely guy.
A great and very funny man.
Benny Hill the greatest man on tv ever!!!!
Thanks for sharing
That circumcision joke was top notch.
I actually missed it. Thanks for the explanation
I get the point.
@@MsBackstager so did the Jewish doctor !
A cut above the rest!
Shame how he was treated towards the end. A true comic genius. And a great actor. Remember chitty chitty bang bang??
And The Italian Job (the original). He had been in a few movies.
Still hoping Mike Myers will make a Movie about Benny Hill 🤞
Myers has a little to some genuine talent to be sure but nobody playing Hill could justice to him. I am not saying Myers is lousy he is not.But Hill was so much greater!
Gone too soon...
Love Benny Hill….grew up on this guy’s comedy
Filmmakers seriously need to do a biopic film about this legend
Legend sadly missed grew up watching Benny hill still funny and I read somewhere once that Ben Elton had Benny cancelled Benny hill had more funny in his little finger than the unfunny Ben Elton
I miss these old chat shows.
He was absolutely hilarious. I don't understand why being a recluse makes some people uneasy, so what? The man lived a quiet life, wasn't involved in any indecent scandals (unless I missed something) and was really passionate about comedy. So what if he chose to be a recluse or not?
He was a child abuser.
Un maestro, un uomo geniale.
❤LEGEND
A nice man and great comic
Two giants of UK show business well missed by all
I do miss Mr Hill. Used to watch him with my late father as a nipper.
Jim Davidson joke is an absoloute belter
🙏👍
még mindig utánozhatatlan!!!
Benny Hill:The Legend.
brilliant much loved and missed
Benny was so adorable ❤️
Genius Benny nothing else too be said 💯💯💯💯💯💯
@The benny Hill consortium thank you i gotta watch that BMX one again
Brilliant but where's the rest ?!
It's all I have sadly. I hope someone out there has the whole thing so it can be shared.
@@BennyHillTHAMES we want more !!! Thanks
Be good to see the whole interview.
Legends
he was great
We miss him, dearly.
RIP Des and Benny
He was my favorite comedian
My favourite comedian ❤️
Miss his comedic genius 😢
Mike Myers should do a docu-Rama of Benny’s life story 👍
He wouldn't be around that much longer after this. He had a sad ending. He really was the British Robin Williams. Funny as hell and always pleasant but very lonely. God he brought me many smiles in my youth.
He was like Jimmy Savile.
God bless you Benny, an absolute gentleman and legend..
And Des may you both rest in peace
!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the characters of the good old days
Impressive restoration work! Congratulations!
By the way, what anti-aliasing method you use?
Benny Hill👍 👄 🤩
Great person,titan actor!
loved him always funny
He lived in his mother's house in Shirley ,Southampton a few yards from my first school. Not sure he was a recluse but he liked a quiet ,private life, alone.
The 🐐
Unique.
Legend benny hill
Benny Hill he was a comic genius, Ernie and his milk cart.
A comedy legend.
I used to pass his house in hill lane in Southampton
a batchelor
He looked so handsome there
Watching old Benny Holl Dhows on That’s TV Xmas brought me here. My dad didn’t exactly approve of his comedic style which largely explains why I missed out on so much of his work😄. Funny he should bring up Jim Davidson there. I just saw a sketch featuring the riding boots gag and thought to myself it was Jim Davidson I first heard utter the line ‘you try walking in them’😆
Benny Hill Shows(!!). Bluddy predictive text😡
