The picture in picture feature is really cool. And the delay is minimal too... Think you just unlocked a new target audience... quite inspired to start my own surveillance business now. Do you review vans too?
The higher refresh rates are still relevant for stuff like panning and scrolling. For 3d art I’m sure it helps as well.. so, still a bit of a bummer.
exactly high framerate monitors are not just for gaming, it gives a much smoother experience as you know from your mobile phone, no one want 60hz on a phone anymore. So why is it ok on Desktop ?
This monitor is simple designed, is 32“ BUT it has 60hz?!!! I'm done…
Yeah but I’d prioritize color and contrast over refresh for a designer monitor
This is amazing, what a gorgeous monitor ☺☺
love the "Picture in Picture" feature!
Amazing I know - I use it all the time
How does it work with Mac Studio? Scaling issues?
Thank you
Excellent video as always Adam! How does the color profile match up with a studio display or macbook pro? I currently have the older BenQ 32 but no matter what color calibration tool i use (SpyderX, etc) I cannot get it to align with an Apple display.
The BenQ color profiles have a thing called "mbook" but colors are quite off and always have to drag the photoshop window back to the laptop screen to ensure colors are where im expected to be at.
It matches up beautifully - the Studio Display does have a glass finish with slightly darker blacks but the color balance and contrast holds up nicely - I didn’t feel the need to calibrate right out of the box but you’ll most likely want to calibrate later on down the line once colors start to shift (as usual)
Does brightness adjusting through keyboard with mac minis work?
3:22 i am here for art related
Thanks a lot. It looks as a 16:9 display (?)
Great review! I’m also a digital painter and I also had trouble matching my external display’s color with my MacBook. Wish I can see a side by side comparison between this one and Mac Studio display, just want to see how accurately BenQ matches Mac’s color. Other than the contrast, how well do you think it matches with MacBook in terms of saturation and hue? Thank you very much!
They match very reliably - and even more so in the blacks due to the improved contrast ratio
The studio display does have slightly better contrast but it’s a reliable enough match to not be problematic
That said, my opinion is that I wouldn’t use them as side by side monitors - I would use this as a standalone or use two BenQs or two Studio displays for perfect color matching
Does it work for a Windows pc?
Can I connect my MacBook Pro on M1 Max 16 inch? Should I be worried about pixelated graphics or worn out text on code editor?
It connects to any Mac (or any computer or tablet) for that matter - iPad, MacBook, android, pc, etc…
Hey Adam! Did you have any issues with the 4k scaling on MacOS? Would be great to know your opinion on this.
its the same as all 32 inch 4k monitors. It does not scale perfectly but as its 32 inch you would usually put it further away and thus get a crispy image. If you put it very close you will instantly notice a soft or blurry image
@@arturkre5793 thanks!
Not really no - sure the interface is small but can be scaled in MacOS - I just recommend not sitting up close to a 32” monitor unless it’s curved
The BenQ website keeps referring to the Mac compatibility, but can it be used with Dell PC?
I don’t know why but it looks bright enough for me only in dualview mode m-book and m-book? And yes, it doesn’t look similar bright like without dual view mode
My question is how to fix it?
i thought i was the only one who noticed this. I've left my monitor in this mode. I love the extra brightness.
@@hepnep I asked BenQ about this and the answer was bizarre to say the least. I turned the monitor. I liked it, but I bought an apple
6:40 maybe main display for mac mini thunderbolt and put ipad on pip hdmi?
Now that I see I cannot have backward compatibility with Apple Pencil Pro (may 2p24), I am more inclined to buy a monitor.
For making digital (2D) art for digital viewing and print, is there actually some big advantage to have one of these designer monitors, aside from the personal enjoyment? Since the people in the audience who look at the art on their own devices wont have a super monitor, instead they probably have the cheapest available - so it's best to make sure the image looks good on most average screens. And then the printing... the stars have to align for a print shop to even know what is a colour profile, I just make the art assuming the print will surprise me every time (and no new run of the same print is gonna look the same either).
~10 years ago I used to have an ok art monitor and a calibrator, but I never figured out what the real benefit there was, nobody else is ever going to look at the drawing from my screen.
Since then I've gotten majority of my gear from recycling bins (I'm the real legit furry trash).
Even with traditional media trying to be precise is kinda silly, the result will look so different under different light conditions.
This could be taken even further to how our ability to even perceive colour and values (especially the light and dark ends) is so dramatically different per individual.
This monitor was half the price I thought it would be. I don’t need it…. I don’t need it… I don’t need it….😅
Next version i hope that this display will be a 120hz OLED panel or something.
Oled is in a weird place for non gaming because of subpixel layout now that JOLED is seemingly being phased out
I really don’t see they value of more than 60hz (max 90) for a designer monitor
@@AdamDuffArt Its more that you have the option of doing other things then just graphics work, or office work.
While still maintaining those as primary.
Bassically making the monitor viable for designer by day, gamer by night type of things.
Amazing monitor, I’ve ordered “27. Your review was very helpful 🥋💡🤍
i’ll never buy another one of their monitors again. I had a very expensive one fail right after the warranty ended and they offered no help. No repair, no refurbishing, nothing. Just “you’re screwed, not sorry” 👎👎👎👎 terrible service too
What was the issue? Panel had issues or the electronics?
Seems great for windows.
It’s actually perfect for windows
@@AdamDuffArt In that case that's the upgrade Ill be aiming for. Thanks Adam💗
Nonsense comparison of a 4K monitor vs. 5K!
