My journey of "being myself" involved spending two years trying to grind out maybe a half dozen pieces of digital art and finally admitting to myself that I hate drawing. It was sobering and still hurts because all I wanted to do with it was illustrate characters from my stories. Just for myself. But I hated the activity and hated the effort. It wasn't worth whipping myself into trying to do when I felt no joy from it. Since then, AI has reached the point where it can manifest about 80% of my vision for 0% of the self-hatred, so now I just use that when I want to try and visualize a character. Sad, but it is the reality now.

A thing I learned about protfolios is that you dont send 2 companies the same portfolio. You build the portfolio for the company you're applying to. You may be absolutely fantastic at realism, but if you're sending in portfolios to someone like Riot or Blizzard and you only send photorealism piece, you're never gonna get the job. Show them that you understand their brand and that you are capable of delivering in that style

My problem is that I have gotten to a point where I feel like...Everything has already been done and said. How could I possibly create anything worthwhile that hasnt already been done by better, more talented, people?

I drew while listening to you, just a month ago I felt betrayed by all my LR friends nobody cared it was just me alone after I put them over myself it was a nightmare so I stopped talking to all of them, I did the stupidest thing ever and fell a whole year just because of them, what after? When I think about it it's only me just me why did I care that much? I learned to do what I like and not care I learned that in the end, it's me alone so I'm the most important person in my whole life, thank you so much for your wise words I'm so touched

I watched these videos as you released them, and I'm re-watching them all now so many months later cause I'm finally getting off my ass and RUNNING. I'm also rock climbing, but running is where heart lies.

Different speakers sound different in different environments. Even if they are fine tuned from the factory in an anachoic chaimber to be linear, one brand and model will sound different in a specific setting, than another brand. It's a hit or miss process. I recommended my son to buy the Kanto YU6 based on online reviews, he bought them and was extremely impressed. It was his first HIFI gear. And they fit his tiny studio apartment. It took me a while to visit him, as he studies far away. I had my meassurement gear with me, and was very surprised by the sound. They were even better, than I expected. We did some measurements and I was surprised how linear the measured. Bu we did some tweaking via REW and now he loves them even more. But he will probably not love them, the minue he's done at the university and move to another place. Cause the room has a huge influence on the speakers. What I'm trying to say, is that calling another brand garbage is not understanding how speakers work in an environment. Sure, there are garbage speakers, but they are the cheap ones. What matters is build quality, inner components and factory fine tuning, placement, weight and other things. Sounds like you didn't even attempt the most basic of speaker setup. Placement (angle, height off the floor, distance from wall).

Adam, your so right, ArtStudio Pro is really excellent. I am sure you know about the brush sets available (I did not and I guess lots of others don't either) So you may want to make mention of them to your audience .... The Juliano Brush Index for Artstudio Pro (3 set package) created by Claudio Juliano is worth every cent.

The Apple displays do not have a higher contrast ratio, than any other mid- to high end ISP panel. It's not physically possible. Yes, it benefits from 500+ dimming zones, but other brands make displays with that too. And mini-LED displays will be even better. If you turn up the brightness to its max. on the Apple displays, they will outperform most monitors, but the contrast ratio will remain the same, unless the display is in/supports HDR mode. As for color accuracy, the Apple displays are great, but they do not outperform other high end monitors. If your work looks more close, working on your displays and validating on your phone but it's not the same using a BenQ, then there's something wrong with your calibration. They should be identical, as long as the display can output the same brightness. That of course rules out dedicated monitors for photography, as they usually don't get brighter, than 2-300 nits. The contrast ratio on an Apple display doesn't even come close to your Apple phone or any device with an Oled screen and high contrast ratio. Call any Apple display high end, and people from the film industry will start laughing. They work on reference monitors, Apple displays are not even in the same ballgame as. I don't think you did, but it's just a reminder. They do however have one thing in common with you. They sit on these reference monitors, then go home and watch on high end TVs and then they cry. Cause no TV and no end user monitor can come close to what they sit at, at work. It's not only Hollywood studios, it's any TV station, that uses these displays. But their goal isn't to get a picture that looks the same at home, as on their reference monitor. Their goal is to work to a reference, that all agrees to, so that all end users have the average good experience.

Outside of the beautiful backdrop the content was money. The way you explained how Apple is ambiguous about who their real customer is makes so much sense lol A lot of people buy Apple just cause of its name and design. Is professionals know that a great quality well built machine or display that is reliable is worth every penny if you use it TO MAKE MONEY I have had an iMac and a 5k 27” Ultra fine monitor and I waited and waited so long for Apple to design a new iMac that removed that MASSIVE CHIN. I wanted matching screens. When the studio displays came out I knew I had to get them I just recently bought 2 of them and will now have a 3 monitor setup with the LG Ultrafine UNTIL next year when I buy a 3rd Studio Display I m a software engineer and I find myself constantly needing more screens. I don’t like flipping between “desktops”. I want everything I need with a turn of my neck One entire 5k monitor is used for my code editor in a Split View. That leaves my second monitor for a million things. A web browser, slack, a terminal, music player and various other apps I use daily This is how I do my job better in my personal way so paying for the monitors does hurt a little but it’s worth it

it took me nearly 2 weeks to prepare to watch this video... there's this bitterness deep inside that surfaces whenever the talks hit too close but the advice cannot be applied. it's hard when dealing with inevitable you cannot fix (in this case my mother's cancer and my own disability) and having no lifelines left yet for some silly reason you're still trying. thank you for these. for a sense of deep sadness and allowing myself to grieve the life i could've had instead of pretending everything is alright, accepting the fact that some of us probably never will make it even if they try hard, because life is just so fucking random with curveballs it throws at us. we can just chip at it and appreciate what we have, and forget the idea of being someone other than ourselves.

I have never owned an iPad, and i really, really want to get one for drawing and some just student work. Money wise i can go for either, the m4 11 inch, or the m2 13 inch. would you recommend i go for the 13 inch screen on the m2, or i go down to 11 inch on the m4, and get the pencil pro?

Would you reccomend getting a 11 inch m4 pro or a 13 inch m2 pro? if you had to choose between them. is the screen size or the pencil pro more important/nice to have?

true, I worked hard for seven years until I got my first big clients that changed my game, I'm grateful for myself for never giving up, I know that, depending on me, it's just the beginning, I'm very proud of all my mistakes, because they brought me here. I love what I do, it's my mission, I will never abandon it

What Artist glove is good to use on the nano texture Glass ? only asking because they said to only using their cleaning cloth on the textured glass. I have one Of the textured iPad coming but not sure what glove to get. Thank you in advance for any info on this. Great videos!

Watching a review from a real user perspective is something else, because with we see the stats of all the iPads, they're all technically impressive, but the real deal in my opinion is how the decive actualy works in the real world, and you made a great video telling us your personal experience as a Pro User, great job mate

Hello Adam. I wonder if you've heard about Instagram new policy where they're basically confirm that they are gonna be scraping all of your data, including copyrighted images and private information, to train their Meta AI. I'm desperately trying to opt-out, but they have made it extremely difficult and all of the requests from countries outside EU get denied/ given uncertain answers. It's crazy that nobody is talking about it.

Hey Adam. Just curious on the decision to go up to the 1Tb model for your nanotexture one. I certainly don't need 1Tb of storage, but do you think the 16Gb of RAM is worth having as an artist?
