Different speakers sound different in different environments. Even if they are fine tuned from the factory in an anachoic chaimber to be linear, one brand and model will sound different in a specific setting, than another brand. It's a hit or miss process.
I recommended my son to buy the Kanto YU6 based on online reviews, he bought them and was extremely impressed. It was his first HIFI gear. And they fit his tiny studio apartment. It took me a while to visit him, as he studies far away. I had my meassurement gear with me, and was very surprised by the sound. They were even better, than I expected. We did some measurements and I was surprised how linear the measured. Bu we did some tweaking via REW and now he loves them even more. But he will probably not love them, the minue he's done at the university and move to another place. Cause the room has a huge influence on the speakers.
What I'm trying to say, is that calling another brand garbage is not understanding how speakers work in an environment. Sure, there are garbage speakers, but they are the cheap ones. What matters is build quality, inner components and factory fine tuning, placement, weight and other things. Sounds like you didn't even attempt the most basic of speaker setup. Placement (angle, height off the floor, distance from wall).

Great Vid Adam! I had a very similar experience. I purchased the Kanto Tux. Pretty to look at, but too shrill and fatiguing. Plus the Input button stoped working after a Week. I Sent them back and replaced them with the Vanatoo T1E. Spectacular! Love how they automatically change inputs to whatever the music source is. The Guys at Vanatoo really know their stuff!

I have fell into the rabbit hole a few months ago, love the acoustic in here. Jokes a side, I'm new at the hobby and I got my first DAC/Amp nothing High-End and 2 pairs of in-ears recommende by a CZcamsr for begginers and using Qobus for music stream.
    Great video, Adam. Thank you.

In the era of headphones and earbuds, speakers kinda felt on the backseat for me but there is something about your videos :D Damn why am i so easy influenced :) Grabbing new speakers!!! Adam, love your videos. Something out of context here but for a few days a movie trailer called The Wild Robot cannot get out of my head. It is the best thing I've seen in a long time and from all the people i really like to hear your opinion on it some time.

Adam - You nailed it! I too am a stupid, GAS-afflicted 'audiophile,' and I've been telling anyone who cares to listen: The T1Es easily approximate 95% of the two-channel system which took me a lifetime to assemble. I added an SVS SB-1000 sub and am happier than a pig in mud when doing everything you mentioned (gaming, critical listening, you name it). Thank you for posting this video - may it prompt anyone sitting on the fence to hit the buy-now button. 🙂

Yes most audiophiles are full of it lol. I know so because I go to school for audio engineering. I wish they would teach this in class.

Personally my experience is most of audio hardware reaches quality plateau at around 200-300$ for headphones and double that price for speakers. Everything above that price is still gain in sound quality, but it's much lesser than quality gains you get below 200$. It doesn't mean buying anything above is not worth it, but if for people who are not really crazy about music it's a sweet spot when it comes to price/quality ratio.

Agreed, I’ve been through thousands of dollars of audio gear and now I’m downsizing and kept a $20 IEM, Final E2000, and $620 speakers, the Revel M16. So much sound for the money, we live in great times for audio if you’re smart and can resist the overheat.

@@Ara-yt4jv If you wanted to also add headphones to your audio options I'd say Hifiman Sundara is amazing quality-for-price choice for 300$. Unless you're really into audio quality listening these should be a lifetime companion. I personally prefer 20-50$ TWS for listening outside since audio quality doesn't matter that much when there's lots of background noise and ANC is a blessing when you wanna watch movie when travelling.

if and only if manufacturers offer at least 5 years warranty on internal amps, customers will not be attracted to active speakers. Some of these will become paper weight after one year.

I'll piss off a lot of people and say my tinnitus is so bad and there's so much damage to my inner ear good speakers actually cause physical pain. HomePods do the trick and don't break the bank.

I have had a pair of these for around 4 years and the amplifier died. $150 to replace of course. Its a do not buy until they fix their pathetic warranty
