Addressing the controversy then it's back to fabricating ⚠️

- There seems to be a lot of controversy regarding the chassis and we appreciate everyones concerns but we're just getting started. There's an order of operations when it comes to building cars and boxing the chassis and adding more crossmembers won't happen until AFTER the body comes off. We're still in the preliminary stages of making the engine and transmission fit 😝

Bad Chad I’m no expert but I have built circle track cars and currently almost finished with my 53 Dodge Meadowbrook station wagon . YOU are building this car the absolute correct way ! Mock up engine and trans mounts , if your changing front and or rear suspensions then body off chassis add strength to frame , mounts , suspension sand blast paint and reassemble drive line then body . I’m sure other people have their way such as you . Helpful hints and suggestions are very helpful ! Love what you do and I have got a lot of helpful stuff from you !! Thanks
i don't know why people don't listen Chad, you have said maybe 100 times, we will sandblast and fix the chassis. I heard it and a know you will have it all in hand soon.
As he says "do it your way its your car" . I don't know why people take time from their life to bitch n moan about what someone else is doing . I was raised if you can't say something nice keep your mouth shut . People not listening and attacking people first is one of main problem with this country
No matter how much he sand blasts, that square tubing is not going to hold that monster. No freaking way! That front cross bar is ten times bigger than that, and it was made to hold a regular freaking engine. Smh
But on the flip side I've seen enough from this Bad Chad magician 🎩 that I'm hoping he has another trick up his sleeve cause I'm a hot wheels collector and there is nothing better to see a hotwheels come to life! So you have been put on blast Chadster, bringing a hotwheels to life is a humongous undertaking. And its got to be finished completely chances are it's good enough and they take it and make one to put on the peg! Wouldn't that be something special!
@@Me-dx5zb a lot of us are just commenting on how we would do it. after all, when i see the comment section. it's not telling me how i should comment? it doesn't say i have to agree on how someone does some thing? am i missing some thing here?
@@sprintcarsandguitars959a lot of people are moaning about the rear end ffs he has even got the motor hooked it for mock up yet. That's the problem. Like " the frame will twist" yeah if he leaves it like that sure. BUT HE ISN'T.

Well... some of the best advice I ever got was "you can learn something from everyone", and I found that's true. The guy who told me that did so because I was doing the same kind of bitching as you in this video. So I'll offer that when you read comments here that have concerns about what you're doing you'd be wise to look for what you can learn from them, and appreciate someone took their time to offer them. I had a guy who I told where their race car was going to break ignore me, and then come back and tell me I "jinxed" him. I thought that was pretty funny but he was serious. He didn't get hurt, and I couldn't help but laugh about him blaming me. But he did make the mods on his car I told he needed after that, and it didn't break again.
You've got some guys here who collectively know a lot. Be nice to them.
Yes every night you ask for comments leave them below, you like your fans should be prepared to see what necessarily you don't like. That is why people will continue to do so and making it a interesting enjoyable programme...
Half the fun of this channel is reading the comments.. keep'em coming
Hi Chad and crew from Wales in the uk , I’ve noticed you and Jolene have been going on about the comments when really you don’t need to justify your self, I’ve been watching you for about 2 years now and as far as I can see you know exactly what you want and you generally get the job done and as you say how can these people comment before you finished what you’re doing.
Agree 100%. What they do is awesome and fun to watch. The negatives on here can bite it.
Chad is not conventional, he’s a maverick - that’s who he is & that’s why I watch and love the show. Plus, there’s the exceptional camera work by Jolene. There is no other show like this within the genre.
The new maverick truck is junk
Chad thats not wise to tell people that have spent a lifetime with tried and true methods,of doing what you are trying to do that they are wrong.
its very obvious of you amature status in this area. My dad always told me to stick with what you know and learn from others about you dont know.
Plus the more you engage with your followers ,The more money you will put in your pocket and then you wont cry about the money issues
Your need tell people they are wrong is uncalled for,,You have a following,if you want to keep that following, i strongly suggest you explain what your plan is in the forefront of a project, because you jump around so much and nothing gets finished,so your followers are losing interest,
However You are correct in saying its your show ,your cars, your way.
That being said,The mistakes you yourself make could be eliminated,if you listen and take advice from those that have make those mistakes many many yrs ago.carry on sir
He's not telling people they are wrong perse. He's telling them to wait and see the final product.
@@81carrerasc actually he did say both of those statements if you go back and listen to his comments in the beginning of today´s show
@@MrInspectordavfalse, he said this is how I do it... You can do it your way you and I do it my way night is alright or wrong. It's the end result that matters.
I think is also possible that the more comments and "clicks" is better for the channel so maybe some "controversy" is created intentionally for this purpose.
Whenever someone makes a comment with some concerns or pointing to a different way of doing it
That triggers a shower of self claimed Chad "comment's gards", and ultimately that helps the numbers. Im starting to think that in some cases this is provoked.
i totally agree.its all about drama, because creates cash for him..but in the end its junk in junk out..
Best thing to do with negativity is ignore it. Super majority love what and how you do it. They don’t appreciate that you are doing all this old school and have not let sponsors come in and fill your shop with new everything that would make your work easier . Stay true to yourself address the positive viewers others can
Chad do not listen to people that are so NEGATIVE. You know extreemly well what you are doing . Congratulations to all of you, Jolene and your two helpers. Awesome awesome awesome. At 75 years old I do not miss one program. Jack
Heaven forbid that anyone not manifest flowers and rainbows!
Give me honesty, any day.
@@Davey-DrumsBut when someone has only build a model car and is here saying how it should be done that is fairy tales and unicorns....
readers mentioning that style motor mount will not fly is "negative" its not anything but reality, I can see using those mounts as part of a mock up phase but when the video came out it said read the title, "motor is mounted in the car" .. too many people have built and laid down thousands of HP in these kinds of builds and know what works and what doesn't, considering he removed all the cross bracing its going to require two plate style mounts, if you don't know what those are look them up, "plate style motor mounts" given the location its the only way, if you don't know what negativity is vs constructive criticism then the web may bot be for you?
its actually an insult for you to come on here and insinuate people that have over 40 years into this type of stuff don't have a clue and are just negative people, tats very wrong, these people are just trying to help nothing more nothing less, the only way this car is going to be able to put 400hp down to the ground and not have engine mounts issues is with plate style mounts... positive, negative whatever.. its the truth
I understand what you're saying and I apologize for being harsh to you. My problem is I like to help and give advice because I have been in this same predicament as you many times over. So I will stay positive and continue to enjoy your videos. God Bless, and again I am sorry.
Employees should always do it the way the boss wants it...that's why they pay you....Doug is an alsome person and worker...Tell him I said so...😊
Well said chad I said when you started putting engine into frame its called mock up and make everything fit and make changes before the final build 👍👍👍
Yea Chad, there were some nasty comments, but all of the responses had a common theme. After the smoke has cleared, you will still need to remove that silly motor mount brace. Amazon sells a “Ford Racing M6675A460 Oil Pan Kit, Includes Rear Sump, 6 Quart” for under $300 which will make room for a proper, under the shallow end of the oil pan, frame crossmember. You can then brace the motor mounts to it.
$300 ,Chad will not go for that.He made his own, with his pal Nathan.Sometimes store bought is not worth it.
Happy Friday Yall
Awesome Chad! The reason you have so many viewers is because we love the way you build cars! Thank you Jolene for showing us the little clip of you cleaning skunk off your doggie! Great job Doug!
Why don’t you plug weld your floor pan you have a 8mm hole punch ? You’ll have a stronger weld doing this way instead of tacking the sides it also looks better. If you don’t believe it’s is stronger do a test panel this is the procedure that I-car recommends . I truly hope people can absorb this info thank you
Sometimes he does.
Everyone has their own way of thinking, and way of doing things. It’s Chad’s project, he has his vision and way of doing things, we need to respect that. I enjoy seeing his visions come together. I may not always agree with all his ideas, but I respect his right to make the decisions he deems correct. 😀😉😀
Creative process does NOT fit into ONE box! Every one of us creates differently when we are creative.
It does nothing for your process, for me to judge it against mine, or vise versa.
You're getting it done! End of discussion!
Keep up the keepin' goin'.
Great camera work and Dougles willingness too.
Poor Doug! 😩
Bad Chad you do you! Don’t listen to all naysayers! I love watching you work I love the process you do. I would guess most of the people saying you are doing things wrong wouldn’t have a clue where to start or what needs to be done. Keep up the good work!!
People have complained about the way you build your cars from the beginning I think they have been watching to much tv as you say it takes time and you show people that how much time it does take and do I right. Keep doing what you’re doing.
It all comes together in the end! Good job!
Like I said earlier..It's hard to understand where you are going but somehow it all comes together..Glad you have rethought the safety factor..The frame twisting was a huge scare for me..Have done a few of these builds and frame safety is a HUGE part of a workable build..We all have our way of building..I'm sure you will get it right..😅
Thank you for explaining every step. This is one of my favorite shows to watch.
When I'm wrong, well not entirely, wrong, I'll admit it, on the comment on gussets, and fish plating, they are basically the same thing, I was watching some hot rod builders on TV, and they were jigging and building upper a arms, and refered to it as gussets, we've always called it fish plating. Thank you for your indulgence.
While gussets and fishplates perform similar functions, they both strengthen a joint, each are installed in a different manner. A gusset is perpendicular and across the joint, a fishplate is parallel, flat and over the joint.
Careful fella there not all negatives..there just giving you a heads up about what house power does . doesn't mean its negative they are voiceing there opinions..as they should..getting involved in your channel...be careful what your saying..don't loose fans...some options will be good and positive others from years of experience building car will voice there opinions...it's not always as a nagitive there just sharing there experience..be careful ....lol..
no one is going anywhere many have threatened but are still here.. they lost any and all choices they had of leaving. they will be here till the bitter end trying to detract.
be careful of what man get some air touch grass
Tell them Brother Man it’s your Belly Button and you will pick it how you want!!! You do you every day and it always comes together quite nicely. You have an extremely strong resumé having cars in from SEMA TO THE WORLD OF WHEELS and a ton of shows in between. Look at the Jolene’s car just as a reference. Chad you have worked with and under some of the Greats like Winfield. And Gene has given you some tremendous accolades and how many people can say that. Brother man you’re extremely talented and I truly enjoy and appreciate your talent. If those that love to coach from the sidelines should go build it the way they want on there own Hot Rods and they don’t have to watch your content if they don’t like it, but then who would they try to insult. Thank you Chad and Jolene for doing what you do and I appreciate your hard work that goes into the builds, it amazing what you guys accomplish in a short time which would take most a year or more. Doug and Nate are great assets and it’s awesome to watch you guys work together. Thanks again and for those that may get offended by my comments well I’m sorry but how does it feel??? If you can’t say something nice then keep your DAMN MOUTH SHUT………
While some of comments were negative, many were just sharing observations they have. Most of those comments are right. The issue is boxing in frame after. You connected motor mount into the channel which should have been connect after
Secondly a blown big block is no joke. That 3/4 square tubing is still weak for that motor plus all of the other issue with fitment you WILL have as this progresses. It’s cool to watch and like what he does but people sharing their opinions is what it’s all about. To use your own analogy you have a muffin mix. But ya still have e to put the right ingredients in at the right time.
"But ya still have e to put the right ingredients in at the right time" ............. don't worry Billy boy, if you've seen his other projects, he knows how to build cars mate ....... wait and watch it come together.
@@81carrerasc I have seen his other projects Carry ! My point is on this one he may be going in a direction it seems he’s not familiar with and people are trying to give opinions and he seemed to not like that. those opinions this time seem accurate. Match box cars are cool but remember you don’t drive them. This thing if ever put on the road with that engine is a beast. It will twist that frame and those mounts to shreds and someone can get hurt.
People watch this guy because many of them build at home or work as well. So yea “ mate “ I’ll watch it come together but that doesn’t mean it’s coming together right.
What's it matter?? The car will end up a full scale model and collect dust
@@KurtKasper-jp2jf lmao
Good post. Mounts should be the last thing you weld in place. All the frame fabrication should be done first. As it is the mounts will be moving all over the place from the stress and heat caused by the fabrication after the fact.
A lot of them guys with them comments about being strong enough those guys are the ones that they don't fabricate nothing they just got money so they go buy it you Chad you're the real deal that's how you build a car
Thanks for sharing with us today.
There is nothing wrong with this method at all . When you need to remove needed structure , you will simply have to find another place to get that back . Many of us have done similar builds and some may have much experience in these areas and those are the ones who will taste the soup after all the spices have been added . Carry on master chef we are watching . 😉
Chad… I have told so many “haters”, “ you do more, with less, than any car builder out there! You get the job done… no Yoder Power hammers, no fancy tools…
Hi Chad ,Gee wiz. Some people just can't help themselves ,I think it's obvious your still mixing the cake ,and frankly your doing a great job I'm learning from you everyday thank you Chad for being such a good teacher explaining everything as you go and then doing the task ,surely I'm not the 0nly one learning from your videos
Hey Chad.. you KNOW how to do this… I love your knowledge and craftsmanship. Love watching your show… Sometimes I get so into what you are doing that comments and questions need to be asked. It is so with your followers.
208th! I too was confused about the order of this build. But I just sat back and watched and waited until you explained things Chad. But will watch every episode to see the process and progress until the final product rolls down the road. Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
right on! keep on rollin Guys! Love the build.
Great way to address the negative comments, you obviously are not dumb you would not put the engine in permanently without putting more bracing, a new x brace, and whatever else you feel necessary. Don't know what people are thinking. You all are a great team
Fabrication work Like that Is a thought process A continual thought process You try something It doesn't work You set down you think it out Then you try something else It works better And just when you think you got it You come up with the best idea ever And redo it And even when you think you got it right and you have it all together After the fact you find better solutions Fabrication work is a lot of thought
agreed , but in todays world there is so much info out there ,,big mistakes and redo,,should be rare,,but here its daily
Back in the day I did one of the first Mazda RX-7 first generation small block Chevy conversions sometimes there is no information you have to be the one to figure it out because it hasn't been done before that's what makes a good fabricator not somebody that can copy somebody else's conversion but figuring it out for yourself to me that's half the fun is building it
@@jonathanduran1773 I can agree with that ,however these type builds are everywhere, especially state side. They are all over CZcams,,and being that he is so money and time conscious,it just seems to me that a lil research would be the order of the day, especially if you depend on youtube as a source of income.
There are a lot experienced folks that watch this show and can help if he ask.Doing it over time and time again is rather boring content.
Time is money for everyone.
Even when Chad had the show on TV ,he was not alone ,,he did not do it all.he had a team.
So since they now have 2 channels ,he should or could be working two cars at a time with two teams and him over seeing both.
jUST A THOUGHT.
@@MrInspectordavChad isn't a Google drone. That's how you learn is mistakes. Not following Google. Also there is no info on making match box car out of this car with this motor. He isn't buying all new parts he makes a bunch of it. It's easy to just spend a bunch of money by all new stuff.
Great video thank you.
Thanks again for the welding tips. One day in the near future, I will use them. It's one of my to do bucket list things.
The only thing I agree with is I think you (Chad) treat Doug differently than Nat. Nat may be more skilled but Doug is happy doing all the shit jobs you give him. You all have your own special skills and that’s why I love watching you guys.

Yes Chad did make me want some muffins. 🤣
I enjoy watching your channel, I’m not a car fabricator, but enjoy seeing what others do! I like your thought process, how ya see things. To bad so many have negative opinions

BEAUTIFUL WORK, CHAD
The real truth is everyone does things different and it works for them. So respect the way other people work OR go away!
You encouraged me on doing things
Seems like you did alright Doug on doing a bit of tacking! just keep doing it, sometimes you'll mess up other times you will do well that's how welding is in the initial stages until you get the hang of it. so keep it up weld as often as you can. Before you know you'll be a pro in no time.
Stay strong. it's incredibly interesting to observe a completely different approach to how it works and what results emerge in the end. It is wonderful that such a vehicle can be legally driven on the road in your country, unattainable in Germany and it would only remain a standing model here. I'm looking forward to new episodes in a brilliant project ;-)
Why would this not be allowed to drive on the road?
@@dkennylee GERMANY... we are talking about the country that used to be very innovative and has been blocking creativity and innovation for many years and then has a system of bans on self-construction and road use. that's called TÜV here.
Minor modifications from the original vehicle are ok under certain conditions, larger changes require a separate acceptance by the organizations and this is becoming more and more difficult today
Keep doing what you are doing Chad. These people must realize this channel is also entertainment. I agree you must mock it up before worrying about making it tight and right. Keeping it interesting is just as much of the build as actually building it when you earn a living making car content. Doug and Nate are also great at what they do. I wouldent mind borrowing them both for my project. Lol. Good workers.
Grande lavoro Bad Chad, come sempre il Top✌
I agree, do frame after car is ready just in case you need to add brackets or supports. Keep doing what you do best
Chad you know what you are doing and when you don't you are not afraid to ask advice and then follow that advice without hesitation. You have created some beautiful innovative vehicles so you can tell us all to shut up until we see the finished article. Keen to see how you continue to overcome each and every problem as it arises. Good luck
Think drag race car, front motor plate(s) and mid mount plate.
Problem solved very simple and incredibly strong! Running a hell of a lot more HP than you will be.

Don’t let these fools get you down it’s your show if they don’t like it they don’t have to watch and furthermore CZcams is open for anyone to start a channel if there so sure of there self go do it and see if they can make it. Maybe there jealous cause they can’t. Keep on keeping on
I'm glad he's reading the comments and I understand mocking up, I wouldn't weld anything to a flexed frame until its propped up straight

Great information you have provided me I'm retired and really enjoy everything
I get it brother people jump the gun for sure they talk 20 steps ahead of where you are at in the build always but sometimes it is constructive criticism and good criticism but like you say you keep what you want and you throw away what you want too and it obviously applies within yourself too reading comments anyways I personally believe the mounts to the engine need alot more beffing up adding plates and obviously once you get there better bracing to the frame and unlike others I will be waiting till you get to that and hopefully you do beef it up some more great work tho chad and love seeing you just truck along and always make it better and better as you go making alot comments and negative stuff irrelevant in the end you alright pal just ignore the neg stuff and keep building things like you like to build them to get the finished product you like to have thats all that matters in the end👌
WILL CHAD GOT HIS WINGS IF HE KNOWS AT THE VERY BEGINNING WHEN HE'S LEANING OVER THE CAR EXPLAINING. The wings on each side of the hubcap on a brick wall was on each side of his head. Man if you doing so wrong why does it look so right 👍
I have seen the finished cars Chad produces, and I like what I see. Chad builds cars that are drivers. Not trailer queens that never get driven. I would rather have a car I can drive and not care if I it's perfect or needs to be kept perfect. I have used some of the techniques I have seen on this show, and they worked great for me. Chad is a doer, and his cars get done. I can tell by his work that he is a big picture guy and sees his vision from the beginning. He's an artist! He does not sweat the small details and uses what he has or makes what he needs. I was taught as a young person " that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" and I think this is an important thing to remember more than ever in the internet age. Go Canadians! If it breaks, fix it! If you can't get it, make it. Thank you both for your show. I find it very enjoyable.
What drivers are you talking about?
@@billearls5817the cars that he drives.
Help Chad and team,
The way you are going about cutting and trying to fit the engine assembly is perfectly correct. Once you have packaged the engine and connected in the car then you can correct and strengthen the fabrication then. I am a body structure engineer. Keep the good work. I enjoy your CZcams.👍
Keep doing what you do Chadders you didn't get barns full of sweet customs by not doing it your way and finding what works for you. I live in Alberta! I watch your show regularly! I don’t always understand what you are doing immediately but it always makes sense eventually! Love what you do ! Keep doing it your way!
Awesome, Thanks
Chad you are a great instructor, Doug is lucky he has you to learn from, Doug is a hard worker and can follow your instructions very well,Doug knows about warpage and distortion, but many of his viewers are getting a better understanding about preventing warpage, this is the reason Chad covers this subject so good
Chad.. i like where you are going with the mock up that is what is needed now .. but i haven't seen you check the drive line angles .. with the engine mounts that you made they need to be at the same angle as the engine is set right ...
Chad, you are doing a fantastic job just keep on trucking on
Yeah too many Eggspurts these days Chad. I knew just by seeing your finished cars that there was going to be more support and strength installed after the motor in this car, otherwise we would have already seen some of your other cars falling apart under stress conditions. You do a great job showing us how its done mate. 👍 From Australia.
Another great day at the shop
GOOD TO SEE YOU THINKING THINGS Through
One Day at a Time..
I think the viewers are watching Chad learn as he goes. And when he gets it done I know it will be right. I’ve seen it time and time again
Yes, of course, as I said yesterday, one step at a time you will certainly be able to reinforce the entire frame.
Keep it up. 😎👍 Great work guys
Coming along nicely Guys
Hey Chad, your history with building car speaks for itself, very few people have your imagination or skills to build a one of a kind car, not to mention the minimal tools and time you do it in.
Well Done Chad and Doug!...most of us Knows your in the fit stage! We know the beefs coming! There's always the know it alls! Rock on Brad Doug and Jolene!

I think it would be great if we could ask questions and chad would address a couple of them at the beginning of each video , not all of them . That would help us students of Chad to understand his processes . Love this build.Very much appreciate the show. Thank you Chad and Jolene for your excellent Efforts .
I like that. They way it can also address concerns so the same question isn't being best to death. Like "the rear end won't work. " OMG if I see that again If I had hair on my head I would pull it out 🤣
As we say in French , it’s “ fait sur mesure” and it’s great like that, it’s part of the pleasure to watch your videos 😊
I have to agree with kx6 about how many time you say I am doing it my way, We are taught at supervisor and management classes to THINK outside the BOX.. your lessons should be shown at such classes
People don't listen to your plan and idea. Keep showing us your vision and I will follow along. Thanks for sharing with us.
Chad, you are showing the tiny details of the "creative process" and the building of YOUR project. I appreciate what you are doing, just keep going and address the comments occasionally, just like you just did. 👍
Im loving the work you do. there are always nay sayers, that want you to do it there way but there are many ways to skin the cat do you brother, let the haters hate because in the end its going to be a sweet hot rod. Bad Chad Customs.......much love Brother. and you too Jolene.
The thing is Chad some people have made the mistake and they learn from it and want to keep others from making the same mistake. Some people think ahead and try to avoid mistakes and you spend all your time fixing mistakes. JS🤷🏻♂️ do what you do brother it’s entertaining in a trainwreck kinda way 😂.
Great job as always Jolene, I think I can feel when you roll your eyes 😂
Could Zipcut Chad be any more condescending, I think not.
Props to Doug👍
Hey Fina❣️ I hear you’re smelling like some good stuff 😂
Incredible camera work as always Jolene!
Chad I never doubted you or your crew because you all know what are doing to me I believe the automotive shows have Ruined people y not being up front about how the process takes and skills!!!!! I think that probably the people making the negative comments most likely a people that don’t understand how things work!!!!! The welding lesson is exactly how I was taught spot welding red dot go a way it saves from blowing holes in piece you welding nice teaching 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
No worries Chad you're show is bad ass love every thing you do
Nice job, Doug!! you got this
Custom engine mounts look just fine...I've seen a whole lot worse...That worked just fine...Although since the engine is so far back...I would make a engine dog house that is removable....For future wrenching...
Kinda like a Ford Van...
Hey Chad, Jolene, Doug, & Fina, its Friday! Chad I find that people don't always listen, quite often I read peoples comments asking a question that you have already answered. Maybe they are doing something else at the time but, whatever the reason they do not hear you apparently. For instance what you said about the frame, or on the Shoe Box Ford so many people asked what color it was going to be over and over after you had told us that Jolene was picking the color when she picked up the paint. Then of course there are the trolls as we call them that go to different sites and are jerks intentionally because they seem to get enjoyment out of doing it. Doug you are a man of many talents and did a nice job welding even though it had been awhile for you. You know Chad trusts your work when he lets you loose welding on his baby! Jolene great work as always and I have an idea for your other CZcams site and it came from reading another persons comment. He said it would be nice if Chad took the first few minutes to answer some questions from the comments. So, what if after you read the comments the next day either you or Chad answer some of the questions or give a response on comments on your other site? Fina is such a good girl protecting her property and standing guard. They just don't win out with skunks though, I had one of my dogs in the past get sprayed good and I tried all the remedies and nothing but time worked and everytime he would get wet it would get stronger all over again!
I was so glad to see you and Jolene showing Fina some love and attention. She is a sweetheart.
