Thank You, you are right about the repetitive ways of helping a child with autism talk, my grandson is now 5 yrs old and he is talking now after not talking until he was around 3 yrs old, with the help of his speech therapist and being repetitive at home, he has come a long way, being repetitive is the key I would say in helping, Thank You
Hey man, my kid is turning 3 yo and my lil tyke is diagnosed with ASD..
Just seeing comments like this gives me the courage not to lose hope and still push through therapy and all..
@@nicob6802 I have a autistic daughter who’ll be 3 in March. She’s learning words due to repetition. I noticed she learned tv words first after watching things over and over so now I’m trying it before she gets off the speech wait list. But my BFF son is about 9 and they told her he probably wouldn’t talk at all but he started at 4 and is very smart and conversational. Don’t feel discouraged. ♥️
@Edward Kiger That is awesome to hear! Thank you so much for commenting!
@Nico B Never lose hope! It will get easier!
My son definitely knows what it means but he doesn’t say it
I am in the same boat,my son is 17 years .He knows many things but does not say it.
My 3.5 years old used to talk and now he prefers pointing.
He knows what everything means and can repeat if you ask him, but cannot say it on his own.
He does repeat the question when you ask him his name and before he used to responds. So devastating and confusing
@Wesley Hinson please share more details
Same with my younger brother
@@BirdieTheGreat literally here rn cuz I'm trying to teach my little brother how to talk 😩
I really appreciate how you model how to facilitate interactions with kids! I agree that it is really important to map language onto our activities so we can help children acquire new language skills and vocabulary!
Lacey Peters I really appreciate your comment!! Thank you!
Your tips are the MOST helpful and practical. Simple enough we can use everyday. Thank you Courtney!!!!

Any tips for aggressive autistic kids? I work at a psychiatric hospital where autistic kids get dumped at relatively frequently, and they are hands down the hardest "psychiatric" patients to treat and deal with (despite autism not being remotely similar to schizophrenia, etc.)
I’m going to try this with my child hope it improves him talking
thank u for ur helf
My son is about to be 3 and he knows the names of things, but just doesn't like to speak. He's not nonverbal because he uses words, and occasional phrases like "what do hide mean?" But it's mostly babbling still. We're also still trying to get him to use the potty chair, but he just thinks it's a toy and refuses to sit on it half the time.
Since the final taking of your herbs, my son has been speaking well and responding to his name Thank you Dr Oyalo for saving my son with your herbs. I’m so happy to share this good news

Since the final taking of your herbs, my son has been speaking well and responding to his name Thank you Dr Oyalo for saving my son with your herbs. I’m so happy to share this good news
When i say come , i'm ignored. But when i say 'come cake'...
My son is non verbal but he understands things, like body parts - he will point to the body part while you say it!
That is so great!! Thank you for sharing!! ❤️
Mine understands everything but doesnt talk at all.He is 3.5 years old.
@@surayaabdul5216 does he talk yet?
@@autumnward6210 no he doesnt.
@@surayaabdul5216 never give up hope. Has he made any improvements?
Thank you for this information. I use many methods with him from the age of two
He used to say the word that he would never return, all the time I presented him with him, but he did not respond, he became 4,5 years old, I myself use the bathroom alone and eat alone and cross even with a word
Until they understand it before I go to work and it is difficult to leave work and sit with him at home because I am spending on the house, thank you again. I want ways to help me repeat letters and numbers and love him in the bathroom by all means, but it is useless. In opening the phone and TV, and anything that has the advantages of running away and hiding

Kayla Pitzer Thanks!! 💕
But if he/she say a word but She never say it again. Is it normal? And how can make him/ her say it again? Thank you
That's because they usually know the word, but they prefer not to say it since to them it's easier. I know this because I have a younger sibling who does the same. At first he says the word properly after repeating it, but then they forget the next day. I suggest to teach him/her everyday.
Another technique I am practicing with my son is that when he needs something, he has to say it then we give it to him. For example if he wants milk he has to say "I want milk" or "water". My son sings almost all of the nursery ryhmes perfectly, but he is not using those language to communicate. Thats why we have to force him to talk if he wants something :( so that he knows that he need to speak to get what he wants.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like you have some good advice to "Manding!" Or asking for what he wants. Are you working with a BCBA or a speech therapist?
We received some useful tips from his therapist and assistant who worked with him at school everyday, I also reads/search alot on how to help him and we are very lucky that we don't have to pay anything for the services my son received at school, the government in Norway are paying all the expenses @@Intothespectrumvideos
@@uglycoco That is very great! It sounds like you have great resources over there! Also, great job for all the research that you do! 🙂
Please how is your son now? I have the same issue with my twins boys ( 2years) they can sings all their cartoon songs but don't communicate with me or anybody. Please any tips or advice .thanks expecting your response
@@pamelaodion9898 dont worry, when my son was 2 yrs old he did not communicate to us. He just sang and sang nursery ryhmes. When he was 5 or 6 yrs old he started to communicate with us with single word. Now he is almost 7, he can say 2 or 3 words when he needs something. Use only single word when talking to them. For example if they eat bread, just say Bread and while pointing to the bread. Do it several times 😀 until they say bread.
This methods reaaally work you just have to give it time
Yay!!! I am so happy to read this comment!! Thank you!!
@@Intothespectrumvideos you welcome ! Ans thanks foe everything
Will this exercise be good for five year old?
Or you could learn how they communicate?
My daughter is saying all words but not sentences. Any idea please.
what if the child already knows what words of things mean but can't say or repeat the word/ sound?
So my son is 4, non verbal and im sure has autism, but dr are backed up till ibdont know when for a iep number. But i try this and he tries to rip my eyes out. Choke me kick me. What are other things i can do? Im losing my mind on this. I dont want it to effect my relationship to him. But ever day i lose more and more patients. The circles, the climbing and jumping off stuff way to high to the only can wear 1 style of shoes, to always naked. The breaking windows to climb out.

Will this work with a 11 yr old.... he says about 3 words only hi.... bye.... and I
Please help me, my son does not say any word on command.
I have tried literally everything his therapists suggested.
Keep on talking and modeling. Check out Dr. Sharma, Homeopath. He is in India. I am using him now. He might be able to help. It won't cost much and its worth the effort and investment. Western Medicine know nothing.

My student dont even open his mouth. His my student for 5 mos.
It didn't work for some.
The tongue is not flexible. The tongue needs exercises to enable the child to talk. Also if the child is past 6 years old training will be difficult。
