Great Work Crew...after 40+ years in the Trades I know Quality when I see it. Glad to see you teaching these young men the Value of doing things correctly. Much Respect.
You guys gave me the confidence to give a couple of little projects a try. Two steps up in a split level garden and a 3 by 5 slab for a pool pump. long story short, you guys make this look so simple! half way though mixing my hand in a barrow, I thought to myself "this is how I die" then trying to get everything looking smart. hats off to you all amazing work.
Good job men. This world needs more tradesmen like you who actually care about doing it the right way over the quick way. Thanks for the awesome video.

David , very nice job on the driveway. Our work and crews are very similar. We should collaborate on a project sometime. If you ever want to visit Maine let me know.
Impressive!!!!!....an enjoyable video to watch. I suspect you made a VERY WISE decision when you decided to not back the heavy weight truck up on the "street's concrete"....lol.
Cool. Business. About to go on a journey. My sisters home is almost finished. My brother in law wants a 10 by 30. I feel confident seeing ur guyes expertise. Patio. It's on like Donkey Kong. Thanks. My background is from remodeling. I can handle toys r us tools.
It was always difficult for me to cut a long straight joint until we got one of those jointers, hard to go wrong with one of them. I still snap a line though. Nice d/w btw.
I hope the home owner didn't have to drive anywhere for a few days. That vehicle is staying in the garage for now! Good work on the driveway. Nice tidy work.
This makes me want to start a construction career with concrete. Is it something a kid with a highschool education can achieve? I want to have my own crew just like you some day👍. You do great work!
Looks like you guys had plenty of time to work the concrete with that saturated ground and ideal weather conditions. What slump do you order at for driveways? It looks a bit too loose by eye but then again it's 3000psi and not 5000 so it looks about right.
Looks great. Everything you do is a work of art. Hopefully the homeowner has another way of getting to the store. That car in the garage is not going anywhere any time soon. That new Arizona center cut jointer looks great to. Can you picture frame the joints with it?
You should have used wire mesh 6x6 , expansion joints and 4,000 psi concrete, 3,000 psi concrete on the finished driveway is consider a poor mix less cement powder in the mix. 3,000 psi to 3,500 psi are acceptable for a footing.
Good evening, to me it seems as if this pour was a bit more "runny/watery" than what I am used to seeing in your previous video's. Let me know if this is incorrect. Then just a question..? Please forgive me as I am still learning. Why would you not consider post tensioning a slab like this? Thanks in advance
You ever get any call backs pouring on top of gravel/loam mix all the time.. seems to happen in all your videos. If your customers want a lifetime driveway you should excavate the organic material and put down 3/4 stone or dense grade and use a compactor instead of tracking it in with a baby loader
No problem the driveway I took out was sitting there for 35 years with no problems until someone cut in to it for brick. I do get call backs all the time, for additional jobs.
Nice looking slab. Joints nice and straight. What kind of slump do you pour at there? Here, the concrete company won't dump it that loose. 7" is the most they will let us pour here in Michigan. We also have this stupid air product they put in and if you don't hit your concrete with a vibrating screed, the top will peel right off after a winter or two.
Mr. Odell, we just poured an 80 X 20 foot driveway for a couple houses we are building. What kind of concrete sealer do you use. We want to protect it from oil stains from cranes, concrete trucks and trade trucks. Thanks. Nice work by the way.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete How long after a driveway is poured do you seal? I just had my driveway poured today and its really hot here in VA. Do you recommend a curing seal or just a straight seal after a certain amount of days?
Perfect timing for this video... I’m about to pour a 1250 sq ft driveway this week. I’m going 6” 4000 psi with wire mesh... would you recommend #3 rebar instead of the wire mesh? What type of sealer will you be applying? Thanks!
How do you add fiber mesh to the truck, just hand it over to the driver and he will put it in? Whats the saving as oppose to having it come with fiber mesh? I am getting ready to do mine (DIY)
Just moved into a 20 year old house with 6 concrete sections 8' by 10' each and every section has cracked at the 5 foot mark. The house is built on Bonneville Lake gravel here in central Utah and there is no uplift at the cracks so I assume it has metal in it (haven't taken my metal detector to it yet). I plan to have a slab poured in a few months for a motor home or trailer and want to avoid the unsightly cracks. What is better, thicker slab, better base or more seams? P.S. love your videos.
Your company does fantastic work! Here in BC we go from 102 to down below 20 below. Right now a lot of my driveway is spitting half way down each piece broken down
Is pea gravel or chips the standard mix out that way? I see lots of CZcams videos from across the country where there using chips. I’ve never seen it used that much around here.

no

I think what happened at the batch plant is it rained the day before and the material got wet. No one accounted for that.

Yes the rebar is much better especially at that depth.
The real simple sealers are water base penetrating sealers, however the best are lacquer base
Great, thanks for the recommendation!
How's the Vermeer working out a time saver for ya David?
Its a real beast
How do you add fiber mesh to the truck, just hand it over to the driver and he will put it in? Whats the saving as oppose to having it come with fiber mesh? I am getting ready to do mine (DIY)
You can save about 60.00 per load
The driver will add it, but usually do it myself.
Let it mix for 5 minutes

I think the steel is to close to the surface, therefore the cracks every one foot, same lay out as the steel.
Hey David is there a different texture to brooming back in forth rather than just back dragging the broom?
Yes
What is your recommended method for preserving a new concrete pour?Is there something I should apply yearly to make it look its best?
Seal it
Hey David where do you get your 1/2” foam ?
And do you have a brand you use?
Thanks
Man this is Amazing wish you guys were in Florida. I want to do concrete floors inside the house. Bad idea ?
I have done many. Mostly overly cement based satins
One question, what if there is a rain after the concrete is poured with 12 hours?
12 hours should be no problem
What kind of fibermesh do you add? Great Work!!
Nothing but the best
👍
Is he gonna leave his car in the garage for ~30 days? Hahah. Super nice finish BTW.
5 days is all you need
